Tom if you're after something a bit more out of the ordinary there's quite a few good bullpups to choose from. The AUG, L85, F2000 and Tavor to name a few.
I've heard good things about the JG AUG despite how normally terrible their company is, if you're on a budget you can pick one up for about £170
i have a jg a2 and the internals are shit and the externals are meh
Nope on that one. Unless you want a cheapo one or creaky TM.
I saw a review on YouTube of the JG Famas and it appeared to be great, no noticeable problems and of good quality.
jg doesn't make a famas it's jp
if you want a famas that's not shit or tm gonna have to wait for g&g

I'm not looking for bullpups in particular, I'm just trying to be a little more unique than all the M4/M16/AK variants I saw when I went airsoft for the first time a few weeks back.
Don't get me wrong, I understand why people favor M4/AK variants due to their reliability and mainstream use.
I'm just looking for guns that I personally like and would enjoy to use, that's why I'm hoping to get a P90 or Famas, because I really like both of them as weapons.

Wait what?, FUCK!
If you want a "unique" gun on a budget, CYMA M14 is a nice choice.
People do still buy guns that aren't considered good (CYMA Thompson for example) but just like the gun so they're willing to forgo the problems. If you're literally determined on getting the TM Famas or the P90 then nobody can stop you it's just that obviously it might be a more wiser investment to get something that you don't need to replace the internals of or worry about it breaking. I used to be in the same boat, determined for something really out there and unseen but most of the unique guns are obviously quite expensive (especially due to the UK mark up on things/over the top shipping from HK)
Most of the time it'll come down to budget and/or personal taste.

M14 is definitely up there in my list of priority of guns to get.
G&G/CYMA/G&P/TM/Ares all make an M14 I believe so plenty of choice there.
cyma m14 is rly nice
go for it

You're right, what I'm doing right now, putting my personal preference ahead of reason, is the reason I'm in this mess with my pistol.
I'll do some more research, see what other guns I can get, or wait for the G&G Famas killer mentioned.
Tom if you can wait until tuesday/wednesday when my tar comes I'm doing a review on it, so I'll be able to give you guys the down low on it. I sperged the extra $10 for the metal gearbox version as well. S&T don't let me down please.
Tar's pretty uncommon. It's also used by specific groups of the Ukraine and Georgian armies. (and of course the Israeli army derp)
Ares version is about $250 more so I'm extremely curious to see how it performs.
What are everyone's thoughts on these two P90's?

If these two don't spark your interest then I'll quit trying for a P90 until I can find a more suitable gun
Sorry for having to ask you to pick out a P90 for me but its best for me to get it out the way quickly.
The TM is pretty much the best P90, so if you get one, get the TM.
We had a member on here (I think it was FloaterTWO) who loved his P90 but ultimately got rid of it because he absolutely hated the magazines and how awkward it was to carry them.
Could you give us a short list of the guns you really like, Tom?

Alright then.
Famas
P90
M14
AUG
Spas 12
MP7
MP5
XM8
I know you said to keep it short but that list contains all the guns I'd go out of my way to purchase. Sorry for having to do this to you guys.
We know lots about most if not all of these, so we can help trim the fat here.
For cost effectiveness and quality, I'd go for the CYMA M14. There are some cheaper G&G MP5s that are made of plastic, but it's very good quality stuff. Both guns should be under $200.
I've never had a P90, but i know some people who have them and hate the mags because they feed terribly.
And i can vouch for the CYMA M14, mine's never let me down, but you'll need to get the spring swapped down to a less powerful one to make it within the fps limits for most UK sites.
M14's nice if you're not doing a lot of distance changes, for a decent field match you'd be ok. But CQB, you're better off hiding in a corner and crying.

Alright, the list has been trimmed to.
Famas
M14
AUG
XM8
MP7
I might take the MP7 off because that would probably better as a secondary weapon.

CYMA M14 is starting to sound more and more like my smartest option, but I'm hoping for a automatic assault rifle overall.
But by the sounds of it, M14 should definitely be my first choice if I cant find a cheaper Famas, Xm8 or AUG.
Why didja take off the MP5? I gave you a good one. :v:
Anyway, most MP7s are over $200 (TM, KWA) except for the Well which is really cheap and not very skirmishable as far as I know. The only good XM8 is the SRC Gen III XM8 but it isn't easy to find. As for AUGs, the JG is the cheapest but quality is questionable. We pretty much told you about the FAMAS already.

I took off the MP5 because I thought about it and realized it wasn't a gun I'd place as a higher priority over a AUG, XM8, FAMAS or M14..
I believe I have made my decision
I'm going to give you guys a break, all arrows point towards the CYMA M14 as the best weapon to choose and I trust you guys as you have more experience at airsoft.
If I want to have a good start at airsoft I'm going to need to put my preferences of weapon behind me and stop it blinding me from the truth that the FAMAS and P90 don't come in as good quality as other guns.
On a final note
I'd love you guys if you could just give me your opinions on both the site and the gun.
Airsoft GI

Is Airsoft GI a good site? I've been watching a couple of there videos on GITV for sometime and they seem good, but I'd like your opinions.
ASGI is a very very good site. I'm proud of you. Most newbies go right to places like airsplat or something. A++ would help you again.
A++ would help you again.
Advice extremely helpful
10/10
Would fuck
Also as I promised I love you guys for helping me. Thanks for preventing me from fucking up like I did with my pistol.
ASGI is one of the better sites, but i don't know about for England. Why the EBR?
ASGI is one of the better sites, but i don't know about for England. Why the EBR?
The rails could come in handy and also because I like the EBR.
ebr is really heavy because of rails
yuh shipping and customs is always a possible issue when importing from HK or US to UK. I know they have everything cheaper and it's a pain but it's always safe to purchase domestically.
airsoftworld, landwarriorairsoft, wolfarmouries, firesupport, actionhobbies, zeroone, proairsoftsupplies
All legit UK websites. Although wolf armouries overprices everything like the london bastards they are.

The M14 is technically a battle rifle, but it's pretty much an assault rifle in airsoft terms. It's got a selector switch so you can use it on full auto, so in terms of functionality it's similar to the other guns you were looking at.
Also, if you can i'd suggest ordering from the UK for the sake of simplicity, getting a gun shipped across from the US is probably going to be a pain in the ass unless you know what you're doing and how to import it without customs having a shitfit.
