Why is this hobby pretty much entirely based in southern california? As far as I can tell there isn't any regular standing organization in my state, or any of the states that touch my state.

Most every area I can think of has at least some airsoft going on.
What state are you in? Most every area I can think of has at least some airsoft going on.
Montana. I know Tark lives here. Everything google shows for groups look like really sketchy groups of 20 or so people playing in undeveloped woodland 300 miles away.

However, while the groups might seem sketchy or small, they'll never get bigger if people like you aren't willing to give them a shot. I highly recommend trying one or two of these places out if they're not too far away, because you don't really have anything to lose.
The problem i'm seeing is that i'd be committing a lot of money to a maybe. I think the biggest group I can distinguish is in Missoula, 350~ miles away. My current travel ability isn't that great.

I have never heard a shittier sounding gun holy jesus my ears are melting
Is that the poor man's PTW I've been hearing about recently? I think my friend wants to get one of those. I hope he does so we can all laugh at his wasted money.
P* > PTW
I still don't know what a polar star is and i've never seen one. They seem like they don't exist outside of the US, all we have is Systemas and Celcius (shit) PTWs.

Down to 1 more package and an assload of labor before my secret project is complete, but as of now its fully functional.

So I was doing a bit of a test on my new Elite Batteries LVC. My battery I knew was pretty low so I hooked it up and fired it in ~20 rounds bursts. After about 15 cycles, the screw pulled itself out of the piston head, somehow causing the axle on the spur gear of my ~2 week old beautiful G&P VLTOR Magpul M4 to break :c [editline]5th November 2012[/editline] I concluded that during basic field play you'll notice the ROF difference far before the LVC makes its low, dull, useless tone.
15 cycles of the gearbox, or 15 20 round bursts?
15 20 round bursts give or take, so somewhere around ~300-350 cycles on a 7.4v 25c 2300mAH lipo on stock G&P gearbox wiring.
You could always buy my G36 stuff and commit fusion with your G36 stuff :V
Did you mention...fusion?
Fucking CQB City man, pulling some weird shit on us today. Said they were going to try something different. 0 foot engagement distance for all weapons, meaning you can use a M4 in the killhouse at 400fps for point blank action. Their reasoning was that they already allow high powered GBB pistols and SMGs in there and not lower powered AEGs, so why not make it so all guns can be used everywhere. Well the result was very welted arms and lots of bleeding for me. Got 6 bloody welts on me from mostly killhouse engagements. Now it is more realistic in the sense that you really would use a rifle for clearing rooms, but at the same time we got assholes with hicaps spraying the walls as they cut the pie, hoping to get a ricochet kill on you, which in itself is fucking retarded and unrealistic. Now overall gameplay wasn't affected too much due to the small crowd. It allowed me to camp indoors for longer periods of time with more ammo. At the same time the anxiety level of turning each corner easily doubled for me. I don't trust kids with AEGs at close range. The only way I see this style of gameplay working is if everyone is shooting under 350fps, using midcaps, and wearing face protection. This shit is fucking scary if you got nothing guarding your mouth from a 400fps AEG at close range. I don't care if the refs said no headshots, that shits gonna happen eventually and someone is going to get fucked up. I don't know what they're thinking here. Guess one advantage is I can use a ACM M500 shotgun here again, as they don't seem to give a shit what you're shooting with now. Honestly I hope they don't keep this rule. Probably not going back for a while. It's not like the gameplay was bad today, but the likeliness of me accidentally hitting someone in the face in CQB with my M4 is just too great and I would feel horrible if I shot someones tooth out.
The limit should've been 350 to begin with, what kind of logic drove them to do that? There's probably more people with 350 guns than there are people wanting to do 400 at point blank. I've seen guys pie corners while shooting their pistols off. To me it's just as good as blindfire because you're not really able to process what you're looking at/how far away it is before you've already shot it, there's a high friendly fire hazard, and it's difficult to repel someone who invariably will get the first shot in - that seems like something that should be against the rules. Obvious stuff like forcing ricochets to get kills shouldn't count either and sounds like something that should be taken up with a ref.

People pieing the corner shooting constantly as they round it has always been around at CQB City, usually done by MP5K assholes with hicaps. We got wooden walls here, and a ricochet off of one is still going to hurt like a bitch up close. During the briefing people were told not to do that, but obviously the average intelligence level of the players there is way below average. I hate how they say ricochets count. They're trying to do realism, but at the same time they make us take a hit from a ricochets, even though a real bullet would have punched straight through the wall. Honestly I don't even call some of these ricochet hits, because they're such bullshit and I'm not even close to the line of fire. Here's the video of it. On the topic of the video, I hate how they blast music here. Makes it so I can't hear my teammates, they can't hear me, I can't hear enemies moving around, and worst of all, I can't submit the video for monetization on YouTube.
just noticed http://www.evike.com/product_info.php?products_id=40444
That looks suspiciously like the Dboys gas Kar98k. Wood, gas, uses shells. If it's not, I'll be pleasantly surprised.
Evike should sell aquacloths but instead of cloth its like some magic bread, so you put a little tablet in your mouth, take a swig of water, and then spit out the water and you now have a slice of bread!
Package Includes: Gun, 5 Shells
Yes, I made note of it using shells. I mean, if it is just suspiciously like the Dboys and not actually a rebranded Dboys, I might be interested. The Dboys one is a jam-tastic POS with zero accuracy thanks to a three-part barrel and poor build quality.
Well now you guys are getting closer to the rules we have at my CQB arena, so let me give you our interpretation so maybe the refs can start to smooth things out. 1. 1 Joule limit (330fps with a .2g) on all weapons 2. No Minimum Engagement Distance 3. Knife kills are a tap on the back/shoulder from behind 4. Bang kills are optional, but you're a dick if you refuse to take them. Same as a knife kill but apply if you're not within arms reach. 5. Vary games between semi auto and full auto, especially depending on the amount of people in a round. 6. No blindfiring 7. No turn and burn, you have to see your target before you shoot 8. Double engagement/Mexican standoff (both people hit at roughly the same time) means both players are hit, regardless of who shot first or if one person might have missed 9. Shoot a teammate or a dead player and you're dead too. I find that the ruleset generally makes things fair for the people turning corners and the people defending them, especially if you have attentive refs to clear disputes.
Just saw TaiwanesePrick's guns reblogged on Gunblr lol, recognized the numbers on them instantly.
