Airsoft Chat Thread V.7 Shimano gears are the best

I found five gravity-fed Walmart AEGs at a yardsale, plus facemasks and charger for 25$. I got them. I'll clean them up and try and sell them off to the less intelligent airsofters and keep the best one for myself in case my friends need a spare gun. They also came with 6500 .12s. It's all pretty shitty, but it was 25$.
The attachable stocks only work on one of them, which coincidentally is the least beat up and is the one I'll keep.

I really need to get a better loadout made with that camo. It looks kind of shit with that vest, doesn't do it any justice.
I also need to get the boonie.
I really, really like T-Pat and wish I had a set. Where do you find repros now?
ditto
Why on earth would anyone spend three and a half thousand dollars on an airsoft replica as a collector's item, when they could pick up a Yugo M53 parts kit for $200-300 and either make a receiver themselves or just buy a deactivated one?
Because the Asahi is actually a p. spectacular gun. It's virtually indestructible because the only moving parts are basically a ball valve and a nozzle. And it's got far better range and accuracy than even the RS SVD

I hear many awesome things about Asahi M60's.
I want one.
MP5K lower assemblies are now officially on my list of things to avoid dealing with in airsoft. This is such a massive pain in the dick to deal with, fuck.
My G36 really shit itself today. Started making a really tinny clank when I shot it, and when I opened the gearbox up the piston head had decided to tear itself free from the piston and the steel chunk that holds the spring to the piston. I think I'm just going to be lazy and buy a whole new gearbox for it. It's funny how the JG G36 is probably the most reliable starter gun you can get and I've had problems with everything BUT the hopup. I've only had to lube the hop-up once and it was fine. Other than that the wires have torn themselves and the piston stripped every tooth on it, including the metal one. I dont really mind that much since I only have it as a backup for my M16(which is having problems too. Apparently the trigger contacts are corroded. Any tips on cleaning?) but even then my next purchase is going to be a pistol anyway. Figured I dont need a battle belt because I can just put molle and alice pouches directly on the belt I currently use and have it be solid. So pistol is next then maybe a new gearbox. Or maybe a new gun entirely.
Pain in the ass work was 100% worth it. MP5K = Best AEG ever.

Just completed the other MP5K. So pumped.

I think I'm witnessing the death of my airsoft community. For months now, every game has been roughly the same pitiful attendance: about 20-30 people is now regular, whereas before we used to get 50-60 and sometimes up to 100 people on a few occasions. They are always the same people - my team, a team of mostly elitists and tryhards, and a team of cool people who aren't very good. Even one of the other big ~operator~ teams basically dropped off the map without explanation, and that's fifteen people right there. Prices for games have dropped sharply, rules have been loosened up, and for the first time I've seen several people actually storm off the field in rage because of intentionally bad balance/advantages for particular teams, cheating, and boring scenarios and terrain. I joined them after just one round. As always the people who should be pulling us together and doing something are turning a blind eye and assuming that people are just not ~operator~ enough to compete with them, or something.
The trend is not holding with either of the two CQB sub-groups (they don't rub elbows with the rest or each other very often), and those guys are expanding more and more while we shrink and cut back on everything. My favorite place, a MOUT facility, is going to have to close at this rate due to the lack of community support and the fact that we just can't financially sustain it for lack of players across the board. The other day, at a night game, I witnessed multiple people just completely locking down gameplay flow with their stupid behavior (cheating, taking advantage of others, ect.) The daytime games are just as bad, and I counted more than half of one of the leading teams just not taking hits. Three of us witnessed someon being shot right in front of us and not taking it, and he then went on to kill our entire team that we were trying to protect. The enemy base was locked down with only DMs, and we had none ourselves (half of their team were DMs, three running Polar Stars). Not to mention the field has so little cover it's like fighting in an 18th century skirmish line. Long story short, there was, as usual, no way to win at all, or get anything done other than barely tread water. Now people don't even comment on the forums to talk about how great the day was, it's just deathly silent afterwards.
We've basically skinned the bear instead of shaving it. Our players are disappearing, and no amount of rule changes fixed it, the balance is still off for more than a few reasons. There's too many win-at-all-costs people that the community is centering around, and they're no fun to play with because they think they're too high speed to have to call all hits or abide by common sense, rules, and general courtesy. Worst of all, I think some people are intentionally not calling hits from some people and giving them to others, treating only select people with respect, and nobody has the guts to say or do anything about it. I've seen entire, large groups ditch a big game day here to go play out of town, and the general consensus among our own is that we seem to think it's worse elsewhere.
This is all hurriedly typed and disjointed because I've got somewhere to be soon, but I had to vent. Even though I hate dealing with this community the implication is that I may soon have no airsoft to play at all.

tl;dr My airsoft community is collapsing under the weight of the consequences of it's own stupidity, and I may soon have nowhere to play.
life......
We had a fist fight at one of our recent games. They let both guys come back....Never going back again.

One day we should all meet up in CENTRAL california and have the best IFAP meetup ever. Would probably have the most IFAP attendees too, if we could get Kill, Junglecat, Milk, Foos, Jenkem, TacticalHijack, Ender, and myself. There's probably some people I'm forgetting, but eight isn't bad lol.
Preferably in the Summer or Winter, but yeah, if I could I would totally go.
and then I could buy that ACOG off you too :)

and id have to borrow all the guns and gear from you guise because my parents wouldn't really like bringing all my gear and my 3 foot long gun on a visit to my grandparents
Umm I don't want to intrude but is paintballing included in the airsoft forum? Because I'm sure there's an equal number of paintballing enthusiasts on FP. I'm aware of the rivalry between airsoft/paintball and I think it's bullshit, both are fun. I'd just like somewhere to discuss it if this section's not the right place.
Not really, but I could talk to you about paintball if you wanted haha.
A lot of us used to play paintball, ask away I guess.

previous threads about paintball have been closed, i think there was a chat thread for paintball, not sure if it's still around. you're best off getting together other paintballers on FP to get a custom forum for yourself or at least a thread in GD or something.

There's a field in South San Jose, called Area 48. On private land on the foothills, small field, but seems to be getting a lot of players recently. Not really a fan of the place myself, but it is close.
i would go if one+ of you was there and had loaner equipment and guns

So Cal is pretty far...don't I have to get into the LA area to play you with you? I could maybe make the jump to Bakersfield or something at least when I get my license. Would love to come meet some people that actually know what airsoft is about instead of all this "hurr i am winrar" drama whoring we have in here.
Nor Cal is more do-able because I know how to get up that way without driving off a cliff, and people from our community go up to CQB city regularly as big groups so it's a possibility some time. I've been mulling over Fort Ord too, as I will be turning 18 in a few days.
If I brought any Fresno players with me, they'd probably have a heart attack if they met any one of you.
