• Do people that are blind from birth have any dreams?

As far as I know people who are blind from birth never develop the parts in the brain that are to do with sight. This is why we could never make them see with artificial means.
I once asked myself how people see the world that are born bild, deaf and have paraplegia. I mean they don't feel, see or hear anything. They just exist. Can they even THINK? I mean they have no input they can recreate. We think in words or pictures but people like that wouldn't know something like that.
I also now thought of another question revolving around blind people. What would hapen if you gave a blind person LSD?
Anyone knows a blind person? Ask them.
I just think that since they have always been blind, they don't even know how people look like specifically, like face and shit. So their dreams are pretty dark I guess.

Find a blind person and ask them.
Actually I talked to a person blind from birth and they have full dreams just like we do except they don't see anything. It's just a collection of colors and feelings and sounds and other senses.
What if your blind and deaf?
I think it was confirmed that person dreaming or under LSD does not "see", if he was blind from born... but they hallucinate/dream other senses, audio, smell, touch, taste etc.

People still have imaginations, I'd believe that they would see like swirls of color and stuff. [editline]01:50PM[/editline]
How are they supposed to see black if they can't even see.
Black is the absence of light. That is all they would see.
I think the only way to understand being blind is describing what you see behind you. I don't mean turning around.
How are they supposed to see black if they can't even see.
Ohgod :psyboom:
Ever get knock upside the head? You get the equivalent of white noise. Even if your blind, your brain can still synthesize data. It's usually just the optic nerves that are fucked. So probably just normal dreams without actual sights from the real world. Ask a blind person, too. :v:
Just thought that I'd pop in and mention a fun-fact for you guys about deaf children. I read this last night when I was studying Child Psychology. You know babbling? Like when smaller children go "nananananana" or "dododododo?" Well, deaf children actually babble in sign language when they're infants. It's no joke, dude. It's really interesting how that works out. [editline]03:17PM[/editline]
Black is the absence of light. That is all they would see.
This.

Person who has been blind his whole life paints realistic pictures. http://www.discoveryhd.ca/shows/castlist.aspx?sid=4608 There is more to the brain than people think
Man, i feel so bad for those blind people.
I have a question. What is it like to be blind in world full of people who can see?
I wonder how it'd be to get high if you're blind. [editline]09:58PM[/editline] I know Ray Charles did heroin... :O
Actually I talked to a person blind from birth and they have full dreams just like we do except they don't see anything. It's just a collection of colors and feelings and sounds and other senses.
But how can they see colors?
Just tossing my coins, but I have seen a show of a man, blind from birth, who could comprehend perspective. Also, it has been proved that the part of the brain which processes visual information isn't just absent and never active with a blind person.
I'm blind but the keyboard and screen were in brail so i was fine. Basically all we see is blackness :(
Which is why you have a Mudkip avatar. (Unless of course that's the new defaults)
The man who was drawing stuff?
Yes, he made pencil sketches. I saw him on TV some time ago. Can't find a video link or anything at the moment though.
I'd assume if they felt things enough they could get a rough visual of what they looked like. Or not.
Agree with the two first posters, except I think they dream of the world as they think it looks.
They couldn't since they can't see color they can't even think about what it would look like. I think.
