Not really. It's just a collection of songs, really. First song has a concept, yes, but it's a song, not an album.
atom heart mother isnt a concept album either but its in the op and wish you were here isnt a concept album
I don't think this is a concept album. It is however amazing no matter what.
Maybe so, but I think it still deserves an honorable mention, due to the themes of hopelessness and frailty supporting the apocalyptic concept of the album. :3:
atom heart mother isnt a concept album either but its in the op and wish you were here isnt a concept album
Atom Heart Mother isn't, but Wish You Were Here has a bunch of connecting concepts around the music industry, etc.
Atom Heart Mother isn't, but Wish You Were Here has a bunch of connecting concepts around the music industry, etc.
Atom Heart Mother is a concept album. It isn't a story, but it's kinda like an Ummagumma followup in a sense that 3 members have full control over one song. You could say this isn't a concept album in a sense that it doesn't tell a story But it definitely is due to the themes involved.

I haven't given Atom Heart Mother many listens so I hadn't really picked up on them. Also, on the topic of themes: That's exactly why I mentioned F# A# Infinity earlier. Joe's Garage by Frank Zappa, maybe? Also I'm surprised no one mentioned Ziltoid yet.

Updated the OP :smug:
Atom Heart Mother is a concept album. It isn't a story, but it's kinda like an Ummagumma followup in a sense that 3 members have full control over one song. atom heart mother has no lyrics and the rest of the songs have nothing to do with eatchother. how dose that tell a story.
Re-mastered OP :smug:
Crack the Skye tickles my gerbils.
Crack the Nutsacke
OP still needs more conteeent :colbert:
atom heart mother has no lyrics and the rest of the songs have nothing to do with eatchother. how dose that tell a story.
Concept albums don't have to tell stories, numbnuts. And Atom Heart Mother as an album has lyrics.
Concept albums don't have to tell stories, numbnuts. And Atom Heart Mother as an album has lyrics.
:I no shit the song dose not there is zero concept how is it a concept album
Snow by Spock's Beard is a fantastic concept album It's about an albino kid with psychic powers who moves to New York and becomes a cult leader to try and clean up the city. It's a 2 hour double album, and each disc is pretty much a continuous hour long piece, with recurring themes everywhere. It's pretty much everything a great concept album should be.
:I no shit the song dose not there is zero concept how is it a concept album
:l there are lyrics goddammit it is a concept album
This is one of my most favourite concept albums of all time: Also, seriously can't wait for this:
:I no shit the song dose not there is zero concept how is it a concept album
That's right, THE SONG DOES NOT. But this isn't a song thread. Goddamn are you a fool?
I recently listened to Transatlantic's The Whirlwind, and I greatly enjoyed it.
That's right, THE SONG DOES NOT. But this isn't a song thread. Goddamn are you a fool?
its not a concept album its one long ass instremental and a bunch of shorter songs that have nothing to do with each other lyrically. that is in no way possible a concept album
its not a concept album its one long ass instremental and a bunch of shorter songs that have nothing to do with each other lyrically. that is in no way possible a concept album
Okay let me explain. I buy Atom Heart Mother on LP. One side is the Atom Heart Mother suite, turn it over and there are solo songs by each of the group. Then a finish of another suite. This album paints a clear picture, and you know it does. Whether the songs head for a direction isn't for me to say, I don't think they do. But that's not what can make a concept album. There is a photo of just a cow on the cover, rather than telling me what the band is about. Seriously, look at the cover, then think that they were the ones who made "Another Brick In The Wall Pt.2". The suites don't sound "improvised" either. Which adds to the fact that they obviously had intent on the record. There is a big difference between songs on an album... hence the "More" album as compared to this.
The Magnetic Fields - 69 Love Songs I believe the title is pretty self explanatory of the concept.
