Well the calendar had to stop at some point, they couldn't carry on writing it forever.
So that's why I can't rate in here. :v:
Rated fun.... DAMNIT!
Anyway, I believe this is complete bs.
People have failed to predict this kind of stuff dozens of times.
What I DO think will happen, is people going batshit insane because they think this is real, and then, do some real harm.
I don't think anyone will die the world won't end and no I haven't looked it up. But I will use it as an excuse to do no work and steal crap.
I am sure that some people will die on the 21st of December. Would be pretty weird if nobody did.
And yeah this 2012 apocalypse thing is bullshit.
i dont care if the world ends anyway itd be the best thing to happen to this planet
And the Mayans being 'right' and the world ending on that very date isn't?
Never said that. Don't put words in my mouth. I think this entire thread exists because of lunatics.

It would be hilariously ironic if nobody died on that day.
Me and some friends were discussing this a couple of weeks ago actually.
Somebody wondered if the UK Olympic committee could make such a mess of the 2012 games, that it would bring about the end of the world as we know it.
London organising the biggest sporting event in the world and a prediction of the end of the world within a few months of each other... hmmm, sounds like trouble to me.
After some discussion, we concluded that with the people involved, anything is possible.
My money's on the dead rising from the grave out of sheer embarrassment. Zombie apocalypses are my favourite kind of apocalypse.
Another theory was that the god-awful seizure-inducing logo is actually some kind of demonic symbol. Once it's projected all around the world, it will cause a rip in the fabric of reality and allow the hellspawn to invade and slowly take over.
Whatever happens, I'm sure the Apocolympics will be... interesting.
Will be fun to see idiots freaking out. Maybe they'll even mass suicide.
I don't think the world will end, I don't see any reason it would end because of a calendar.
The thing is, in the back of my mind, that date is looming over me. I'm not sure why, I already know that there are no statistical or scientific proofs that anything special will happen on that date, but there's that little nagging fear I can't get rid of.
So to answer your question, yes, I am a bit scared, but with no valid evidence or real reasoning.
I'm more scared for New Years Eve 2011.
All the mad hatters, crack dogs and serial killers will flip their shit over this.
I don't think the world will end, but I'm still worried deep inside, as much as i feel stupid for being worried, i still am deep in there.
I'm scared of a self fulfilling prophecy.
It would've been really interesting to see how similar the general reactions to Y2K are to 2012, shame forums weren't really around back then.
The Seventh Seal will be broken and Heaven's forces will be unleashed upon Earth to counterattack Hell's forces.
And then we all become insta-killable green zombies in 10 years and some faggot will exchange our souls for weapons n shit.
I don't get how they thought the world would end. They say that the guy who was making the calender just died when he was making that year, so they thought everything would end.
Bible says that one person dying is like losing a whole world.
Someone will die that day. Seems legit.
Y2K12
All I've got to say about it really.
Why would I be scared because a ancient civilization's calender ends?
Would be funny if the Mayans predicted we would create the end of the world by our insane selves.
I'd believe it.
SUDDENLY: Russia and China declare nuclear war on every country on the planet! Is the world doomed?!
It'll end just like how it did on May 21st earlier this year.
The 2012 thing is bullshit.
Speaking of bullshit there is an episode of Penn and Teller's Bullshit on this topic.

I'm terrified of the thought of the world ending. I bought beer and chips and the walls in my basement are solid they should keep me save also The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion I got cheap pre-owned only $29
The 2012 doomsday theory is a bunch of bullocks.
It'll be just another year. Just like 2000 and I think 2005 aswell. Except with better technology.
If it does happen, and I don't think it will, but if it does it will be pure coincident.
My calender ends on December 31st 2011. WE'RE DOOMED.
2012 is just upcoming rapture #34324 like all the ones we've had before, only this time it has been popularised by the media. If you take a random date, someone will have said that there'll be a rapture on that day.
It'll end just like how it did on May 21st earlier this year.
Apparently, that was only a "spiritual coming" and the actual rapture is on October 21st.
[editline]1st October 2011[/editline]
Here's a photo from May 21st btw:

I drowned in flowers.
The only 2012-related thing that worries me is the people who are going to totally lose their shit near the date and start killing themselves or others, loot, bomb buildings, etc. because "The world's ending anyway!"
Nothing is gonna happen.
Except mass suicides by dumb people who believe this shit.
Some old civilization or something got lazy and didn't work on their calendar after 2012, so what? Nothing's gonna happen.
