Yeah. End of the world? Bullshit. Something's going to happen that will change us humans but I'd have no idea what that would be.
Maybe the Mayan's predicted the ultimate Steam christmas sale starting 21st December V:v:V
Stuff that changes humans happens all the time, and most likely, nothing out of the ordinary will happen on 21st of December 2012, and if it does it will be a coincidence.
I think it'll be like the y2k, but much more serious, ie people suiciding, looting, murder etc, because "the worlds going to end anyway!"
and a little quote to lighten the mood:
"I'm tellin' you, the Y2K computer's got him. We'll face burnin' roads, rivers exploding, calculators transformed into Scud missiles. There's nothing we can do."

Why would it be more serious than Y2K? It's like, the same exact thing.
[editline]2nd October 2011[/editline]
Also why would people even kill themselves, it's the end of the world and we're all going to die anyways.

No, Y2k actually had a tiny probability of fucking shit up.

You're missing my point. People were freaking out about Y2K and thought it would be the end of the world, but there were no mass suicides or huge riots or anything like that. In fact there hasn't really been any huge chaos during any of the end of the world events. This is the same. Nothing will happen and it will just pass.
Throughout our history people have always spread the word that the world is going to end on (fill in the date) and so far nothing happened.
I think it's just to get us a little excited or it shows how people actually do want the world to end.
the world wont end people who believed that it would end in 2012 will say "We got the date wrong"
and everyone with common sense will call bullshit wash, rinse, repeat.
Then a few years later, "Ok, guess what I heard. The world is going to end on ______."

I know what your point was. I was adding on it by saying that Y2k was actually worse, and it didn't create mass suicide.
