What's with all these clips of 47 just straight up murdering the shit out of loads of unimportant people?
Isn't he supposed to not do that?
Sophisticated art of assassination = Punch man in face, steal his gun and shoot other guy outside in daylight where everyone nearby can hear.

I haven't been following the news about this game lately though so I dunno
it's this thing called marketing, you might have heard about it. usually they try and show exciting parts of the game in the advertisements so people will, y'know...buy the game...
Previous hitmen had quite a big arsenal too. What's your point? Though from what they've shown so far the missions look more linear and less like in blood money or whatever
Now that you mention it, I'm sure Contracts had an LMG, BM too.
Holy shit guys stop comparing this to Splinter Cell. SC is marketed as a stealth game, Hitman has always been and always will be a "do it how you want" game.
There's nothing wrong with shooting everyone, you could do that in all the other games.
Fuck, I mean 47 is the worlds most deadly man, not the worlds most stealthy. He just gets shit done.
Its better to have them appeal to a new audience and have them make money instead of just appealing to fans and possibly getting shutdown.
Did you guys not watch the fucking trailer?
Not only did it explicitly explain you can do it action rambo style or stealth, it even showed him walking in public, and dont start with any bullshit about the stealth, i dont remember being able to walk into a security office in blood money without eventually being shot if i didnt have a disguise.

I swear to god you people are just blindly hating this game despite what it keeps showing.
I have mixed feelings about Absolution. It looks like fun, but whether or not it's Hitman fun will remain to be seen. As long as the difficulty on Absolution's Pro is equivalent or harder than Blood Money's prom I'll be happy.
It's still undeniably a dick move to get ride of Bateman and Kyd though. Both those guys were just iconic to the franchise.
I bet this game sucks balls.
I bet this game sucks balls.
Don't put too much money on that bet, you're gonna be poor.
Uh, I think a lot of you guys missed the point of the video. The idea is that you can be stealth as in traditional Hitman games or go guns blazing. It adds depth to the game and gives you more options.

PSB: Is it fair to say that stealth and aggression are equally valid strategies in Hitman: Absolution?
HA: There are many more options for different emotional states and approaches to the gameplay. Some players do prefer a more violent approach; in earlier Hitman games, you were punished for that. If you screwed up, the entire level would come down on your head. But now, action is a more compelling option. But to our veteran fans, rest assured, the stealth is fully intact and better than ever!
PSB: Are you expanding on Agent 47’s use of disguises?
HA: Disguises are another area where we’ve added a lot more fidelity. If I’m wearing a guard outfit, guard characters will have an easy time seeing through my disguise…but other characters will be less likely to notice. Disguises have different ratings, too, and also different armour ratings: a SWAT disguise will give you far more protection than a doctor’s outfit.
When he’s disguised, Agent 47 can also act his way out of trouble when he has to walk near an enemy: he can scratch his head, pretend to speak into a radio to briefly deflect attention.
I think the dev's know what they are doing, they are just going a more DX:HR route as in, play as you wish.
That actually sounds very promising.
A lot of the people complaining in here don't understand how advertising works. The game is going to be amazing, and they made the gunplay a LOT better than it used to be.
I've never really played a Hitman game (sue me) and I think this looks fairly good, kind of like Deus Ex's stealth system, but more advanced.
Hope it has save everytime, even so it might have auto save everytime you complete a objective.
Previous game didn't have anything of that, but still completed it.
Wow that video posted above of the actual gameplay makes it look great. Just sort of a tutorial mission like all the hitmans had. And the atmosphere looks so good, like the hippie trying to flush hash down the toilet and all, I think it looks great. Hopefully it will be as good as the old ones

We got the point of the trailer, it's just that developers have failed to deliver before, and with all the other changes that have been made plus the fact that almost nobody from the original team are working on it, I'm just a little skeptic of how the game will be. Sure, I might be wrong, hopefully.

Guess you didn't watch the video, it is simply giving the players the choice to do what they wish.
Obviously you'll get better rewards for being smart and silent, vs rambo.
This looks like a pretty good game so far, but I can't help but notice a lot of cinematic parts instead of sandbox levels in the previews.
kind of reminded me of predator mode in the Batman Arkham series
Reminds me of the dumbasses in the Assassin's Creed 3 thread saying there won't be a hidden blade.
Cool as shit there's more robust CQC but I do believe the portrayal of 47 and the storyline at the moment is pretty fuckin sketchy. And I mean in a bad way.

That's not really so.
In previous games you were penalized for excessive violence, and the game was clearly designed more around stealth than action. You COULD shoot everyone, but the levels were pretty obviously not based around that idea.
Going in guns blazing really just reduced an otherwise complex and interesting mission into a short series of firefights that were fun the first couple of times, but quickly lost their appeal. Once you've shot every guard that happens to cross your path, and maybe a few defenseless innocents for absolutely no reason, you take on the laughably easy task of simply blasting your target in the face, then walk out unopposed.
While it may have been fun the first couple of times, I don't see how such a playstyle could really be portrayed as anything more than a little distraction on a level you've already beaten.
That said, Absolution seems to be genuinely attempting to make it a feasible way to play a level, and as long as it doesn't detract from the stealth elements of the game, I can't complain too much.
It has been 6 years since Blood Money was released, so obviously things are gonna be changed, but not necessarily in a bad way.

They are working on a game called heroes and generals now, and have reformed their old studio Reto Moto, IIRC

This is some good gameplay showing off stealth and the new challenges that come with disguises.
