Been smoking weed more or less every day for over a year. Am I fucked?
Yes, you have 23 seconds to live I'm sorry
i smoke weed and cigarettes and i've smoked joints with both tobacco and weed in them (colloquially known as spliffs) before a couple times, they're actually pretty nice
Oh, not you too? But see what I mean? People like to say they could smoke weed purely out of a cutting-edge vaporator, or use heroin under pristine laboratory conditions, but when the fuck does that actually happen? I like to undermine their ideas about that.
I think people should be discouraged from smoking weed with joints, blunts, metal pipes, ect, and use bongs, vaporizers, edibles, and drinks instead. Of course that's much harder to come by when It's illegal..
That's one of the things that was part of New York State's medical marijuana bill that just passed. It's still illegal to smoke, but you can vape it or eat it if you have the proper ID. It makes sense, considering smoking it may help with your ailment, but now puts you at risk for lung cancer, emphysema, etc.
then clearly the solution is to be harsher on drug users so that people won't be supporting criminals because they won't be buying it
yeah, you know, this is literally one of the worst ideas [editline]18th July 2014[/editline]
All you've said so far about the amounts of tobacco smoked is an idiotic generalization with no source. Do people that smoke tobacco smoke more than people that smoke marijuana? Yes, but that doesn't mean every tobacco smoke goes through multiple packs a week, tobacco smokers vary in usage.
the simple fact you don't want to acknowledge is they effect the lungs in different ways.
To the people questioning whether or not marijuana smoke is the same as cigarette smoke, refer to the article I posted: http://www.webmd.com/lung-cancer/news/20060523/pot-smoking-not-linked-to-lung-cancer Largest study of its kind. Marijuana smoke does not cause lung cancer. The biggest risk you take when smoking something is the fact that the heat destroys the cilia that line your trachea. These are tiny hair-like structures that serve as a sort of filter for your lungs. They grow back after not smoking for a while.
Your (NY's, actually) point still stands, but there's some science that already establishes this to not necessarily be true the way it is for tobacco.
Funny thing about that... Your (NY's, actually) point still stands, but there's some science that already establishes this to not necessarily be true the way it is for tobacco.
the cillia grow back in the cannabis smokes scenario, not tobacco smoke.
the cillia grow back in the cannabis smokes scenario, not tobacco smoke.
My point was, BlueFlash made the bolded statement, and Mister_Jack already preemptively covered that point earlier on this same page. You still get lung butter either way, too.
i excelled in shit like video and other artistic projects in college because of marijuana, the mental effects / negative effects to your education are complete bullshit (in my personal experience with drugs) if pot makes you a lazy loser it's because you were a lazy loser in the first place, not because you smoke pot
people say pot heads are lazy because many lazy people become pot heads they have it completely mixed up, and that's where all that bullcrap came from
Been smoking weed more or less every day for over a year. Am I fucked?
Ive smoked everyday for about 5 years, but ive pretty much stopped since a while, feels good to have short term memory back. I have a vape and its better in every way, except it take some time before its ready to inhale.
Ive smoked everyday for about 5 years, but ive pretty much stopped since a while, feels good to have short term memory back. I have a vape and its better in every way, except it take some time before its ready to inhale.
I've smoked for a similar length of time, but I haven't had any short term memory issues. At least not any different than what a normal person who doesn't smoke weed goes through on occasion.
I took a break from smoking weed partially because I wanted to focus on school more. I thought weed was destroying my grades. It turns out it was actually just me being a lazy shit. My grades stayed the exact same/dropped when I took a break. On the other hand, I have an extreme stoner friend that took a break because he was failing multiple classes. By the end of the year he had straight A's. It's less about the actual herb and more about your own responsibility levels.
Before I started smoking regularly, my college GPA was at 1.33 or so, I had awful anxiety, my social life was shit, I was acting out against my parents, and my life was in shambles, basically. I got a medical prescription to use marijuana, and since then I got my act together in school. As of this past quarter, I've pulled my GPA up to a 3.22. I've made peace with my parents, and now we're better to each other than we were before. I'm more patient, more empathetic, and I'm more willing to compromise with them. My creativity has also expanded a lot, and best of all I can now control my anxiety to the point where it doesn't interfere with my day-to-day life anymore. My confidence grew and I met someone real special, and even though she had to move away recently, the relationship we had was fulfilling and memorable. I don't think any of it would have been possible if I hadn't sought out that prescription. It has really helped me. You know what? Even if my smoking means that I'll only live to 75 instead of 90 or whatever, I don't care. It's worth it. I'd rather die having control over my anxiety and motivation problems than live a longer, miserable life.
No, it's just as unhealthy as cigarettes, smoking kills your lungs, especially if you smoke for a ridiculous amount of time like some potheads out there.
What are bongs/vapes/edibles? Edibles remove smoke entirely and gets you far higher, waterpipes/bongs filter the smoke through water/ice/multiple tubes(if you are rich), vapes is just water vapor. After switching from a steamroller pipe to an ice twist bong everything involving my mouth/throat/lungs feels way better and cleaner, and infinitely better than when I used to smoke cigs. Hell, using edibles and you wont have any problems ever concerning anything other than the effects of THC, or even go as far as to get THC pills. Weed has never been just as unhealthy as cigs, and especially not as unhealthy as alcohol.

It's not just tobacco you smoke when you smoke a cigarette.
People often forget, too, that the tobacco used in (most) cigarettes has all kinds of awful shit put in it.
a person's inability to fully commit to a healthier way of ingesting thc doesn't undermine the fact that it's still possible to do so entirely if you're willing and able to
what about most persons' inability to do it?
what about most persons' inability to do it?
anyone in the world can heat up the herb, that they would otherwise smoke/ignite, in a crockpot filled with coconut oil, etc, then strain the planet matter and harvest the oil with a cheesecloth and either bake it with a cooking mix, or take the herbinfused oil and inject x amount based on amount of herb infused and desired potency into a pill capsule (that you can buy 100s for few$ anywhere) and swallow directly. i think the only obstacles here are laziness/unwillingness to learn the process of creating oils and lack of a crockpot, but if you're too poor to afford to a vaporizer, you might be too poor to to even be supporting yourself and living with guardians, who might have crockpots. and crockpot is just my preferred method, you can get the same results stovetop, I just think it's more likely to waste/overheat thc in the process, especially if you're inexperienced. so basically any1 in the world could creates edibles/oil capsules which means 100% healthiest way of ingestion in terms of health effects, and high effects all you have to do is not be lazy and learn how to properly (ifuwant) doesnt matter if the people claiming it aren't practicing, still their own lazy fault if you want to be healthy do it, if not, damage urself, that's your choice, all of which have absolutely no relevance as to why it should be illegal anyways, use it whatever you want [editline]wat[/editline]
Sadly it wont work like this for everyone, i think i may have developed generalized anxiety with weed.
I think if you have a predisposition for something psychological or anxiety in the family, that you could amplify/bring it out in yourself with herb use, but my opinion is that anxiety is something that you can overcome entirely with your mind on your own, anxiety does run in my family though I haven't experienced anything
anxiety runs in my family and i probably have it brb rolling a blunt [editline] . [/editline] imagine how expensive it would be to overdose on weed
anxiety runs in my family and i probably have it brb rolling a blunt [editline] . [/editline] imagine how expensive it would be to overdose on weed
Imagine how insanely stoned you would be. Just imagine.. It would probably feel like a different drug entirely.

[/editline] imagine how expensive it would be to overdose on weed
You really cant, unless some machine is just constantly pumping THC into you, me and a friend smoked an absolute fuckton for only like 2 hours straight years ago to kind of see, you pretty much pass out, you kinda stop getting high and just start getting very tired and actually a little sick with nausea, at least I did, waste of money and weed. Then you just get knocked out, and this was only like 5grams.
