My village - population about 50?
A lot of 10 000+ cities here. I consider those large. 140 in my town (Helgö). Bloody hell. We DO have a article on English-language Wikipedia! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Helg%C3%B6 Categories include: Former populated places in Sweden, Viking Age populated places :saddowns:
But..aren't you near the beach. near santa cruz?
Beach every other day got boring after the first 2 months. I lived there 10 years.
Ha Ha! I live in a Real center of the modern world. The town that is so large and exiting that it should be the capital of the World! [img_thumb]http://www.cubeupload.com/files/445153vrldsmetropolenhe.jpg[/img_thumb] Helgö, Ekerö municipality, Uppland. Population: Approximately 140. Oh wait. I might have been ironic.
140? There must be some serious inbreeding there.
Born/grew up in a small country town in Western Australia, place was boring as hell, hanged out with friends alot. Used to be fun ever few weeks waking up at 4/5am to go to the city for the day, every now and then oh mother dear used to buy me a game boy game while there, it was a 2 hour drive to the city (perth). Then when I turned 14, moved to perth, and years later we moved to Melbourne. I still prefer Perth, but it seems stupid now because in Perth/Melbourne I can go to the shopping centre whenever I feel like it, doesn't have the same feel as it used to. :(
Heh. I hate living in a big city. (Fort Worth/Dallas, anyone?) I want to go move back to my old town of 2,000 people. (Minden, Nevada)
That slash on the thread's title is killing most of the people trying to access this. My city has ~500,000 habitants.
I live in a city just outside of Phoenix, Arizona. When I moved here, there wasn't alot out here, but it's steadily growing
Population of my city is ~6000. On the website for the city they show in the banner this picture of a place that looks somewhat nice. I have no idea where the fuck that place is supposed to be, nothing around here looks that nice. I think they went somewhere else and took the picture. Also we have no police force. If you have a problem they gotta call a county out here. I smoke dope on my front porch and play bluegrass with my neighbors. Life is good.
Remind me to visit your town and smoke some dope with you in the near future, this place sounds sweet.
Remind me to visit your town and smoke some dope with you in the near future, this place sounds sweet.
I wouldn't recommend it. We may lack a police force, but we also lack basic necessities like Taco Bell, and Arbys. I have to drive 15 minutes both ways to get a chicken quesadilla or roast beef sandwich. But we do have this really good burger shop called McDonalds (no relation to the franchise) that's always packed because their burgers are about the best thing that's ever happened. And they're really cheap. For a couple bucks you can get a burger with a patty over an inch thick and whatever you want on it, faster than the other McDonalds, and it's actually fresh.
Only 600,000 people live in my town and it's a capital city.
Less than 200,000 people live in my city, a provincial capital, with a much larger city with a population of 250,000 a few hundred kilometers away. :canada::respek::smug:
I live in Tumwater/Olympia, I can see the capital AND Mt Rainier from my house. I live on Tumwater hill. so I can see a couple hundred miles in each direction. Downtown Olympia is fucking awesome too. Anyone on here been there? Met Dudeman the cool hobo with diva glasses and a minni skateboard? [editline]10th November 2010[/editline] Also, Valve headquarters. Just a couple cities over.
I live in a small town close to Winnipeg, Manitoba. It's great cause you don't have to live in a big bustling city, but its only 30 mins away.
Well at least you don't have to live on a fucking farm. Shit here is just plain weird. Hate it here. I belong in the suburbs where I grew up.
I come from living in a country right up against Philadelphia to living in a small rural town near the Canadian border....funny how education drags you along.
I live in an unspecified town in central Louisiana with less than 4000 people in it. I've had the same dream, mostly living in a giant apartment skyscraper in some place like New York.
Trust me, I lived in a big city before, both have their ups and downs. The thing about crowded cities is they aren't like you see in movies. There's A LOT of weird people walking around. Like, it's often repulsing.
I haven't made a thread about anything in awhile and I just thought about how much my town sucks so I thought I'd make a thread about it. So anyway to start it all off I live in Vancouver, Washington and well... It sucks. There's never anything new to do. I can't help but think about going somewhere else. A big city ya know? I've always had this dream of leaving this place to go somewhere with sky scrapers and all that. To a big city... I find myself thinking about that a lot... I dunno. Theres just nothing here. I just feel like I need to get away and find something but I don't know what that "something" is. I was just looking through a thread with all these pictures of where people live and one picture that caught my eye was of a really cool looking bridge and a city that just looked so... alive. I think it was of Sydney, Australia. There's just nothing to do here... It's actually kind of depressing when I really think about it. There's just so much more out there and I feel like I'll never get to see any of it. Maybe when I get a little older I'll finally be able to get out there but until then I guess I'm stuck here... So Facepunch, I was just wondering does anyone else feel this way because of the place you live? Hearts if you live in Washington. :buddy: (I really don't know if this belongs in fast threads or not so my bad if this is the wrong section.)
I live in Port Orchard, WA. HI WASHINGTONIAN
Chicago is where I live.
I live in a small town in southeast Poland. Sometimes I don't like the fact that most of people in town know me, but it's better than shitloads of people everywhere, like in Warsaw or other big cities.
I live in a town of 2,600. Used to live in a town of 600. :v:
I live in a town of 2,600. Used to live in a town of 600. :v:
My neighbourhood has almost that many people.
I live in Sydney, its not all that.
A big city ain't as good as you think. Better go to a large town near a city. I lived like this in Bergisch Gladbach, which is pretty near Koln. It was awesome. Good old times . . .
I live in a small town and it's boring as fuck. So little people to meet (everyone knows everyone), sports that I'd love to start don't exist because there are too few people interested, all the big events happen in other, larger cities. I'm moving out from this shithole as soon as I get the money to.
I live in a city of around 3000 people and I am not a happy man. Because 2/3 of people are shit.
