My summer sucked, I live in a neighborhood with only old people and 9-13 year olds. All my friends live over 5 miles away.
[QUOTE=IceTea;25971969]I haven't made a thread about anything in awhile and I just thought about how much my town sucks so I thought I'd make a thread about it.
So anyway to start it all off I live in Vancouver, Washington and well... It sucks. There's never anything new to do. I can't help but think about going somewhere else. A big city ya know? I've always had this dream of leaving this place to go somewhere with sky scrapers and all that. To a big city... I find myself thinking about that a lot... I dunno. Theres just nothing here. I just feel like I need to get away and find something but I don't know what that "something" is.
I was just looking through a thread with all these pictures of where people live and one picture that caught my eye was of a really cool looking bridge and a city that just looked so... alive. I think it was of Sydney, Australia. There's just nothing to do here... It's actually kind of depressing when I really think about it. There's just so much more out there and I feel like I'll never get to see any of it. Maybe when I get a little older I'll finally be able to get out there but until then I guess I'm stuck here...
So Facepunch, I was just wondering does anyone else feel this way because of the place you live?
Hearts if you live in Washington. :buddy:
(I really don't know if this belongs in fast threads or not so my bad if this is the wrong section.)[/QUOTE]
Fucking Tri-City's bro!
OP thinks Vancouver WA is a small city?
Pft. Hell, my town has under 1000 people. It's still classified as a village.

Hello fellow washingtonians. I live in a small town called Port Townsend. it's a very quiet/beautiful Victorian seaport. This town fucking rules.
Helsinki motherfuckers

got nothing on my shitty scottish town
I live in the "happiest place in england" apparently. My town, Bournemouth, only has about 200,000 residents.

Whenever I go out and want to be alone, there's a 50% chance I'll run in to some dickface that I hate and know.
93,102 people in my city. Only an hour away from San Diego or LA though so it's not too bad.
You guys have it nice, I live in a town with less than 100 people.
Live in a small, shitty town in the middle of nowhere in Scotland with a population of just over 10,000 (of which, roughly 70% are pricks). There is literally fuck all to do here - the only thing bordering entertainment is a swimming pool which can hold about 40 people, and the only relatively big name shops we have here are Subway, Greggs, and Aldis. We're an hour and a half's bus ride from the nearest city (25 + miles). Meh. Being honest, it could be a hell of a lot worse, some other towns nearby are horrible.
My town used to have fifty-thousand people, now its a ghost town
Hey, I've been to Vancouver, WA. It's a nice town, we got some groceries there.
The Vancouver in Canada could fix all of your problems.
I live in one of the I think 6 Hamlets in The State of NY with a population of roughly 60 people.

go hunting or something there is always something to do no matter how ruraly you live.
Fuck Sydney. Melbourne is the bomb.
I used to live out in a semi-smallish area in Queensland and I love Melbourne so much more
I can go into the city all the time :buddy:

Same shit bro, except for the friends. I'm sure you can find any activity, even if it's embarassing.
And holy shit a lot of Facepunchers live in the middle of buttfuck nowhere.

That's why we're on the internet. There's not much else to do out here, but we do have high speed internet.
I've lived on the doorstep of the Gold Coast (about 400,000 people) for most of my life. We have awesome weather, world-famous beaches and a kickass nightlife and I'm still sick of it. Point is, live anywhere long enough and you'll get bored of the place.

I see your point, but have you considered that maybe you're just doing it wrong and aren't taking full advantage of your situation?
London can be annoying at the best of times. I think the positives outweigh the negatives though.

That's a possibility. I may also just be taking everything for granted since I pretty much grew up here. Either way, I'm looking forward to moving to Brisbane (bigger city about half an hour away) for uni next year.
I live in the same city as you. I agree that it sucks over here. Nothing to do, 50% of the time it's pouring down rain.
Nope, because if I want to do something I get off my ass and catch the train to Sydney.
big cities ftw

I've always wanted to live in Chernobyl. :saddowns:
[editline]11th November 2010[/editline]
And again, I've always wanted to live in a skyscraper overlooking a freeway or something. Just being able to look outside and see more than vegetation and the occasional wildlife.
I live in Póvoa de Santa Iria, which is in the capital district of Lisbon, Portugal. It's a big city, I've lived here all my life and I've always loved it. We used to have a police station, but not anymore. And that's a bad thing, unless you're a stoner and/or a yobbo. Which I'm not.
My appartment has an absolutely brilliant view over the city.
My neighborhood has a population of 10 500.
I'm in New York. As in, the big city that everybody seems to pine away for. Irony is, there's really not much to do...
I live in Las Vegas and I fucking hate it. You have to drive everywhere, even though I like driving, you can't just walk 30 minutes and be at a really nice mall to go shopping, eat, and go out and see sites.
Sure the Strip is there, but it's filled with drunken tourists. Besides this place we have called "Town Square" which is really far unless you live next to it, there's no place where you can just walk to, chill out with your friends, and be around other locals.
That's why I want to live in like, San Francisco, Seattle, Los Angeles, New York, etc.
[editline]12th November 2010[/editline]
I lived in Melbourne for three years, and, I fucking loved the city. Not to mention, I was a 10 minute walk away from a Formula One race.
