Ahaha. In my personal canon The Doctor picked up Jack and had many adventures with him during The Specials. In 30 years when they start doing audios, that will be exactly what happens too.
Yay. Loved the comeback of the Ice Warrior. Can't wait for the newly redesigned Cybermen to appear now.
Glad they got a new redesign. Didn't make much sense with the Cybus designs. Still not sure why loads of doctor who fans seem to hate the parallel universe episode, I loved it personally and I hope I'll enjoy this new one.
I don't why, but I really like this song. It brings me back to being a 10 year old watching Doctor Who for the first time.
Fun fact: Solid Snake once guest-starred in The Caves of Androzani
Why did the Doctor and Amy have a Barbie doll with them at the beginning - I understand the sunglasses but was the doll supposed to be something to do with Vegas too or was it some clever reference to a part of the Doctor's past that I had missed? I also really didn't understand what drove the crewman to melt the ice warrior's ice. Why would you do that, even if you did think it was a dead mammoth.

Time to bake a cake for post #500 [editline]13th April 2013[/editline] And speaking of soundtracks, I did notice that they reused this track in the next time Another thing I realized is that they cutted out any/all scenes where the Ice Warrior used his sonic gun.
Did I set everyone off listening to the series 1 & 2 soundtrack? :v:
Strangely, I was listening to the Cybermen theme and then I saw your post.
Also, was the [sp]red setting[/sp] on the sonic a reference to what River said in the library episodes?
Very probably.
Not only did they have Davos Seaworth, they also had the guy who plays Edmure Tully/Brutus from the HBO series Rome
from a cool continuity point of view, having clara wear the jacket she got on the sub again would be cool
Woah sorry I called Clara Amy, bit worrying that. I still don't know why they had a Barbie doll.
I wonder if the [sp]Duran Duran[/sp] reference has any significance towards potential future plot concerning [sp]Bad Wolf, like that tumblr theory posted a few pages back.[/sp]
hungry like a wolf? professor grisenko? professor roseking. Rose king. Bad wolf confirmed
I still don't know why they had a Barbie doll.
comedy
Nah I think it was just meant to be kind of foreshadowing, like a 'predator' feeling Also comedic effect that a soviet scientist would like Ultravox and Duran Duran
I could not stop laughing when the ice warrior kept fondling everyone's face one by one hahahaha "MASSAGE TIME!"
I didn't enjoy it to be honest; not really all that much suspense, and once again yay kindness and compassion saved the day To be frank, I really want to see the Doctor lose his shit. It's come up a few times in the post-2005 series, where he's had a fun little speech where he talks about the stuff he's done (Time War type stuff) and how he hasn't got anything to lose (etc), and while the speeches are pretty moving, both before and after he's pretty much his jollyish self. I mean even in the episodes after Angels Take Manhattan he's hardly depressed - he had a slight change of character for the Christmas Special but nothing really dramatic. I want to see him break down and actually deal with the fact that he destroyed every Time Lord he's ever known, the fact that he's essentially lost everybody he's ever cared about, and the fact that it was always because he took them with him. I know he's not human, but I want to see some bare-bones, flayed-soul humanity just for an episode or two
It's definitely annoying how it seems to be love and emotion saving the day frequently now. Let's just have the Doctor use his god damn wit and intelligence to royally fuck over the next bad guy instead of turning him into some monster with a heart
Moffat has lost his touch since his first season.
i loved this
That special was so good.
I didn't really think this was too bad in terms of "saving someone with love" It wasn't really that at all. Usually that involves people yelling constantly and singing and shit until the monster goes up into heaven but this wasn't so much love as it was honour. It was about a warrior's sense of justice more than anything else
i loved this
That and when he flips his shit and runs Kahler-Jex out of town in A Town Called Mercy was pretty awesome, too.

The Timelords died hundreds of years ago for him and they were evil and he didn't even like them. He remembered how fucking evil they were when The Master brought them back. I don't want him to cry over The Timelords every week any more than I want him to cry for the people that died on that sub.

But once upon time Who was the highlight of the night. It was the flagship show. Now the BBC keep using it as an experiment and it pisses me off. They did the exact same thing in the 80's and it killed the show instantly. Stop splitting the series - American series are about 25 episodes long. The split works. By the time you get into it now it ends. It's stupid. Stop moving the time around - I'm a big Who fan and I never know when it's on. 6? No. Half 6? No. Quarter past? No. It's on 6:45 this week. It changes every week. Why the fuck is Who being pushed around JUST so The Voice can have the big audience? Another fucking talent show. 7 is and always will be perfect Who time. Lots of things the previous Doctors did i couldn't imagine him doing anything like (E.g what happened to the family of Blood). I'd really like to see him do more things like these:
