That makes sense though because the props in the show for the sonic screwdriver are notoriously shit
How so? I haven't heard anything bad about them, or seen.

If it was talked about in Confidential in the past then I've never watched Confidential despite telling myself I should :v:

Wow, uh, I saw the prototype video of the 11th Sonic by CT and I made a comment
I realize the production cost of these is quite expensive seeing how (as far as I know) they're hand made and not on a treadmill so* to speak... But 500 pounds...? Something tells me you'd earn a bit more if you sold them for less, ironically.
I mean, that's pretty fair, right?
His response:
if you find the price onerous or somewhat beyond your means, please say so and be honest about instead of offering me advice in the hope I will lower the price to one you can afford. Have you offered the same advice to QMX? no? Something tells me* maybe you should. Have you emailed Ferrari or Lamborghini with the same advice? No? Until then, I suggest you keep your opinions to yourself as I'm doing just fine and have benign doing just fine without your wisdom. Prat.
I just... wow.
The Rings of Akhaten took a beating on Points of View, yesterday.
Seriously? That's what Points of View is used for now? Discussing a rubbish episode of a TV show?
Well it was pretty rubbish
This weeks episode topped it definitely and next week's looks like it could be fun!
Apparently filming is taking place at Cardiff Museum today. Security guards have said both Matt and David are present.
Filming is expected to move to the Experience tomorrow.
Is Tennants TARDIS in the experience? I didn't think it was. I know the classic series one is and Matt's previous.
[editline]15th April 2013[/editline]
Oh just looked it up- it is.
Wasn't Eccleston spotted in Cardiff or something?
Or was it someone else?

Also, more adventures into the mind of Celestial Toystore:
I personall don't give a fuck whether anyone buys or not, I'm not in it for the money. So if I want to be be a prick, I can in the* same way you can continue to be a dumb fucking cunt. You really are grasping at straws. It's not about function, it's about pricing. With any product, Irrespective of function, you have a range of pricing. I happen to put my pricing in the middle of that range. What the fuck has function got to do with it? Don't be a wanker.
Jesus.

Please don't actually let it be the Doctor Who Experience in the episode, that would be beyond wank
No the actual sets for the last two TARDIS' are there. That's the only way to film on Tennants TARDIS.

Christ this is an atrocity.
"God we need to make a Doctor Who aniversary episode"
"How will we explain the different Doctors?"
"We won't, everybody will just accept it"
"That couldn't be much worse.."
"It'll also be a cross over with Eastenders"
Amazing Pertwee still looks the same here as he did in the early 70's.
You just made me watch the whole thing again.
I sincerely hate you now.
Chibnall is back for S8 at Moffat's request.
Rejoice.

oh... that's... nice?

Down side: His Who is painfully average.
Plus side: Broadchurch is quite simply incredible. Not been this hooked to a program in a long time. Amazing.
Second down side: Moffat is back
Series 8: Part 1 of 5, coming Autumn 2015
Series 8: Part 2 of 7, coming Spring 2017
and so on
I assure you all my sarcasm level was high at the time of posting :v:
On the (not-so) plus side, I wouldn't be surprised if Sherlock had another gap year in 2014. Hopefully DW also gets a new strong EP. Moffat also admits to changing the format for S8 again - flicking the lever back towards centre. Hopefully the stars will align and Series 8 will see the return of two-parters.
dammit

THIS IS WHY WE CAN'T HAVE NICE THINGS

Wait are you sarcastic about Chibnall returning or the 'rejoice'?

This is old but gold.
Watch this all the way through. You won't regret it, excellent punchline at the end.

"I've seen you in the year 2010."
"Oh?"
"You're still on television."
:O
Chibnall is a pretty good writer! I haven't disliked any of his episodes.
Out of curiosity, for those around at the time, how well-kept is the secret that the Doctor will regenerate? I mean, judging by when Matt was selected he had to keep it a secret from the whole world for about 3 months. How does word get around that there's going to be an audition?

Yeah the cube one was really good I don't see the problem with Chibnall
every time we get a chibnall ep we have this argument thuogh
Out of curiosity, for those around at the time, how well-kept is the secret that the Doctor will regenerate? The audition/casting call will probably be for "lead actor in a primetime drama series" and then the audition will be some kooky, eccentric lines but unrelated to Who. Then the people who are shortlisted for the part will be told what the audition is for.
And the fact that the doctor will regenerate isn't kept secret at all. Tennant announced he was leaving in 2008, and it logically follows that a new Doctor will be cast. Just perhaps an audition for such a well-known character would deter a lot of would-be Doctors, so they keep the actual role secret during the audition.
Wait, Peter Davison was in Legally Blonde? That's one of my favorite musicals!
And he played Professor Callahan? Wooooah.
Is it true that Matt Smith is leaving after the 7th series? I thought I heard he would be back for 8.
So, promotional images were released for Hide. [sp]Some of them feature Matt Smith on Tennant's space suit.[/sp]

It's rumoured (just like it is every year), but if he was going to leave after S7 the production team would have already cast a twelfth doctor (see my last post for specifics).

We also get to see [sp]The TARDIS in-flight in the vortex! That doesn't happen in-episode any longer...[/sp]
I will admit, while I would prefer to see some newcomers, I still enjoy Chris Chibnall's work. To an annoying amount outside of Who, too. He tried to start up 'Merlin' for the BBC (even though they said no, then did it three years later anyway). He wrote two of my favourite Life on Mars episodes. Law & Order: UK and his Torchwood work, obviously.
While The Power of Three was at the bottom of my list (for 7a), it was mostly down to the mis-step ending, which has affected every Series 7 episode. So I can blame Moffat for that.
Hell, I even enjoyed some of the Starz Camelot series. He's another solid contender for Executive Producer - so long as the writing team was mixed up. I agree that it should be co-produced now. Not in a "Yes, Mr. Moffat" way.
He wrote two of my favourite Life on Mars episodes.
Oh shit, he wrote the one where the guy dies in the cell. That was such a good episode.
I read an interesting theory, by the way, that would be pretty awesome. Seemingly each of the Doctors regeneration have been increasingly violent and explosive. The original were pretty calm and swift where as now he bursts into a fountain of yellow energy. 9 to 10 being explosive but not enough to harm the TARDIS, and 10 to 11 being powerful enough to almost destroy it and it needing a makeover as well.
The theory I read is that his body is sort of "panicking" the closer he gets to his last regeneration and it works harder to fix him up (I mean hell, 10 fell from god knows how long, smashed through ceiling glass, landed on a hard floor and didn't break a single bone).
Now, the Tunguska event - apparently there aren't any traces of the meteor that smashed into the Earth causing it. The idea essentially goes that when the Doctor regenerates the next time, it will be so violent and explosive that it will cause the TARDIS to crash-land onto the earth, CAUSING the Tunguska Event.
Thanks to CoolCorky, I got Tunguska mixed up with the meteor that caused the extinction of the dinosaurs. Both the Tunguska theory and the dinosaur extinction are cool theories, though.
If you think about it, it would be pretty mind-boggling not only for the viewer but for the Doctor as well. He would be the reason humans even existed in the first place.
A cool theory, but the Tunguska Event happened in 1908. The asteroid collision that wiped out the dinosaurs happened in Mexico.
