I thought 10 to 11 was just more explosive because of how long it was held off. If you take in to account "Death of The Doctor" - 10 visited every single companion before he regenerated.
A cool theory, but the Tunguska Event happened in 1908. The asteroid collision that wiped out the dinosaurs happened in Mexico.
Oh. I must've got those mixed up. Could've sworn Tunguska was the name of the dinosaur wipeout meteor. The theory I read about was about the Tunguska Event, though, I remember that much. [editline]16th April 2013[/editline] Both the Tunguska theory and the dinosaur extinction are cool theories, though. [editline]16th April 2013[/editline] For future reference, the dinosaur extinction is called "Cretaceous–Paleogene extinction event". Will remember for the future.

Would make for a good fanfic. haaaaah
Or because Moffat wanted a new TARDIS design and it was a convenient way to do it EDIT: actually, nah, way too far fetched...
Out of curiosity, for those around at the time, how well-kept is the secret that the Doctor will regenerate? I mean, judging by when Matt was selected he had to keep it a secret from the whole world for about 3 months. How does word get around that there's going to be an audition?
Auditon-ees are hand picked and notified to keep it a secret. An announcement of the new Doctor comes shortly before location filming is to start with the new Doctor (otherwise it would be spoiled anyway). Also the previous actor wants people to know he's free so he can get work. I would expect a Matt leaving announcement soon. Probably just before or during his shoot with Ryan Gosling. [editline]16th April 2013[/editline] Or maybe just after it. Either way it won't be long. [editline]16th April 2013[/editline]
Is it true that Matt Smith is leaving after the 7th series? I thought I heard he would be back for 8.
It's heavily rumoured.
And because you know
Man that fucking scene gives me some real big goosebumps
It did when I first watched it, but now I'm just all "fucking hell get over it Doctor you've done this like nine times before" I hope eleven's regeneration process isn't as soppy and self-congratulatory as that one. And if Amy fucking Pond shows up in Matt's last episode then heads will roll
Jack needs to see 11 before he regens.
How so? I haven't heard anything bad about them, or seen. [editline]15th April 2013[/editline] If it was talked about in Confidential in the past then I've never watched Confidential despite telling myself I should :v: [editline]15th April 2013[/editline] Wow, uh, I saw the prototype video of the 11th Sonic by CT and I made a comment I mean, that's pretty fair, right?
Jack needs to see 11 before he regens.
I agree because I want Jack back sooner rather than later. But I can't see the two characters having a good chemistry on screen. [editline]16th April 2013[/editline]
How so? I haven't heard anything bad about them, or seen. [editline]16th April 2013[/editline] I gave up on being logical with the guy, so I did this to piss him off. And it worked. Like I said, don't get me wrong. I'm sure what he does is quality work but no way in hell is it 800 dollars of quality work.

Den of Geek Spoiler-Free Review
You don't need us to tell you how well Jenna-Louise Coleman has settled into the role, and it's with Hide that interesting things begin to develop further.
Full Article Link *** There have been a few comments along the lines of Jenna settling in this episode - which is great considering this was the first episode filmed :v: The same was said about Matt in The Time of Angels.
Dinosaurs on a Spaceship. He VERY directly killed that dude.
Yeah. And straight after everybody on here and in reviews was saying how out of character it was. He was a bad man anyway. That make-up and her trademark lips. It's no surprise she was cast in Secret Diary of a Call Girl [editline]17th April 2013[/editline]
I think Chris Chibnall is an excellent writer...and potential show runner when SM calls it a day
- from one of the regular and reliable leakers [editline]17th April 2013[/editline] To be honest I want Chibnall to take it out of everybody. He's an incredible showrunner based on Broadchurch, BBC will be clawing to get him if Moffat is leaving.
I think my last post was exactly this but i'll say it again I liked Chibnall's most recent ep and I don't see why it's a problem if he takes over he's a great writer
I agree that Chibnall would be a good choice for showrunner. Even if it came down to Chibnall or Gatiss, purely because Gatiss is in the same boat as Moffat with Sherlock. More chance of new writers I would say, too.
Yeah start accepting more scripts instead of using the same old writers every series
Just started watching Broadchurch yesterday, if Chibnall can write Who as good as he's written this, then I don't mind him being showrunner. Completely different shows of course, but Chibnall can clearly be a good writer.
Thing is, as good as Chibnall's scripts were, the same was said about Moffat before he took over as showrunner. Though I suppose he didn't have other series under his belt (as Chibnall does with Broadchurch) when he took over. Also I've been thinking and I've decided that if the 50th anniversary special doesn't have a scene actually set in a quarry in Wales I will be extremely disappointed.
Whose going to Collectormania MK? Might drop down myself and have a look around, I should be saving money though. I might volunteer for the one in October as that'll probably be full of Doctor Who Guests :P
I'm reading around the Tardis Data Core Wiki, specifically the Doctor page. Was Susan Foreman actually the Doctors granddaughter or did she just call him that? Because I watched An Unearthly Child and I recall her being human and of no relation to the Doctor other than being his first companion. [editline]17th April 2013[/editline] OKAY so she WAS actually his granddaughter. I really should get around to watching more of Classic Who. Argh. [editline]17th April 2013[/editline] Aaand apparently my memory is playing tricks on me because I don't remember Susan confirming it herself. I guess that's my cue. Gonna start a Classic Who marathon. I've got snacks and soda. Here we go!
BIG POSSIBLE 50TH SPOILERS This is from a reliable source. It's a lot to swallow and it will make you mad. First the good news: Want to know who's been cast as The Doctor? [sp]John Hurt[/sp]. The REALLY bad news Know how we get pissed off when Moff decides to throw continuity out the window and retcon everything? Well prepare to get REALLY pissed off. [sp]Hurt is playing Doctor 9. It's not a recast. The Doctor will discover he's forgotten an entire incarnation. So 9 is now 10, 10 is now 11, 11 is now 12. The 50th will explore what happened to cause 10 (the one we used to call 9) to erase/forget his own regeneration. The story will be mostly based around why The Doctor ran away from Gallifrey and who he is running from.[/sp] So yeah. Big middle finger to the classic Doctors. Though this explains why we never get a Doctor 8 - Doctor 9 regeneration. I don't know if it means we're going to get one.

Nice to have a picture of [sp]11 and 12[/sp] :suicide: [sp]TDT seems pretty adamant this is the case. it's so shit. It confuses the hell of the numbering. In the past production teams have leaked fake info to throw people off and discover who's leaking info, I hope this is the case. [/sp]
I'm afraid to open the Pandorica that is your latest spoiler/rumor, Dan... very, very afraid...
