I mean, if you think about it, the Doctor DID fight in the war, it's not completely impossible that he and many other timelords had to regenerate into incarnations that didn't last very long.[/sp]

Valeyard would be cool but I doubt it. Continuing a plot strand from the classic series doesn't seem like a possibility sadly. That said it is still rumoured that Paul will appear before the 50th so maybe [sp]in the finale we will see 8. At the end he'll regenerate and the audience and Eleven are watching expecting Christopher Eccleston to appear. SUDDENLY JOHN HURT. WHAT? WHAT!? what. Eleven freaks out and is like "Who are you" and Hurt says "I'm The Doctor" and Eleven's like "DOCTOR WHO!?" and then Steven Moffat jumps out from behind a bush and pushes Eleven over shouting "FALL OF THE ELEVENTHTHHH-TWELFTH".[/sp]

I was talking about the bit at the end of the episode, when he's looking at the business card. He says the name "great intelligence" rings a bell, rather than stating what it is and so on, like he does with other enemies.
