Technically Gaimans done a TARDIS episode
Yeah but, sadly, the Doctor didn't get inside her as deep as I would have liked.
The episode also references the Eye of Harmony. The precise nature of ‘the Eye’ remains a mystery. It was first mentioned in The Deadly Assassin and appears to be a source of great power exploited by the Time Lords. It’s unclear whether it is a single entity that once ‘fuelled’ Gallifrey or a kind of multi-present source of power that existed in all TARDIS… Perhaps time will tell.
- The Doctor Who website.
A hint for next week?
Sounds like lots and lots of things return or are referenced to.
Yeah. Those [sp]Paul McGann[/sp] rumours make me giddy.
Oh, they kept his/her/its/their return quiet.
-Another hint
So, this week's episode, yay or nay?
His sonic also seems to be breaking.
"The assembled hordes of Genghis Khan couldn't get through those doors, and believe me, they've tried!"
It's weird but that line has always stuck in my head since I was a kid. Really curious to see how it's going to be reused next week.
So, this week's episode, yay or nay?
definitely a yea
Because of the football starting late on May 11th, the cyberman episode may be delayed till the week after.
Or aired at 19:30.
One really good possibility, one really bad.
His sonic also seems to be breaking.
He did drop it in sea water
That was a fucking good episode, that's REAL Doctor Who. I don't mind the [sp]monster love[/sp] plot at the end, it's heartwarming and fun. If this wasn't a family show, I'd understand the hate for that part.
Overall, definitely my favourite episode for a while. Next episode seems awesome too.

Really think the Doctor wouldn't waterproof his most handy tool?
holy shit you guys next episode!!
[sp]WE WILL SEE THE POOL!![/sp]
Great episode this week.
REALLY looking forward to next week.
Don't. Reviews are average.

I take that back. One review is average. Doctor Who Online has given it a 10/10 :O
Items of note
Clara has an adorable whisper
Clara's situation is similar to Scaroth's, except the telepathic contact
Or it could be spatial-temporal multiplicity
Why did he run around taking snapshots of shit again? Was it just to see if the ghost was still there or am I missing something?
"This isn't a ghost story, its a love story" -Moff on every episode of Series 7
"Doctor?"
"Yes?"
"Shh"
I never knew Clara could do the old Time Lord Shh
"If I were to go to a pocket universe, I would be drained in 4 seconds, dead in 10" -TARDIS
The same TARDIS that goes there twice in the episode AND back

It recharged when it went back.
Since it went back to its power source, the journey back itself would recharge it.
But it was not drained in 4 seconds. That was the thing. It was in the pocketverse for more than a minute.
>plot armour.
Its power source is artron energy and/or the Eye of Harmony
I see no artron energy OR an Eye of Harmony bar the tiny one that wouldn't recharge a nokia

when? The travel sequence was the long bit, otherwise I remember it being there for aprox. 4 seconds.
Yeah that was quite a neat little story, though there is still the mystery as to who (and what?) Clara really is. Also, it seems that next week's episode will feature some particularly strange and horrifying creatures that the Doctor has kept imprisoned.
I'm almost betting that the salvagers are all gonna die.
I absolutely loved when he stepped down in the house back into the forest.
I quite liked the monster love twist at the end of today's episode. I always find it quite dissatisfying when the big bad guy is just an evil bastard without any major motivation. It's the same reason I always kind of disliked the classic series Master.
But yeah, great episode, but I'm not sure if it topped Cold War as far as S7P2 goes.
Also, MAJOR SPOILERS FOR "HIDE" AHEAD, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

"Evil bastards" are a poor way to design villains; the best kind of villain is a villain whose logic and motives are understandable, like you can understand why they're doing this, and why they feel that what they are doing is right.
I've always found the best villains are the guys who think they are the heroes, however warped their perception of things are

Main reason I loved Ozymandias in Watchmen.

Like Mr Burns?

Those factors also make good villains; in fact the protagonist of Nier (three guesses as to what his name is) could technically qualify as that kind of heroic villain/villainous hero since in his quest to cure his daughter of the Black Scrawl, and later save his daughter from the Shadowlord, he ends up doing some rather bad things. Such things become more apparent during New Game +, when the player is able to understand what the Shades are actually saying. [sp]In fact, his actions are implied to set off a chain of events that condemns humanity to extinction.[/sp]

Because the portal was open so it just flew out that way instead of being trapped.
I actually, genuinely believe that this is the first episode of series 7, or indeed the Moffat era, to not have any plot holes. Wow.
