That's where the portal to the pocket universe opened up right? He drew the circle to mark where it was.
not entirely
fun fact about spirit worlds and haunted house - there is traditionally a point in the haunted area/house where the walls between dimensions are at their thinnest. Conventionally in horror stories this is in the attic - hence why all the scary monsters are ALWAYS hiding in the attic
The doctor drew the circle on the floor because the coldness was a mark that the spirit world (pocket universe) was impeding on the real world (It didn't look very warm in that world)- hence why the woman was able to write 'help me' on the wall and appear through the doors when it got cold. Therefore the coldest point in the house was where the walls between the pocket universe and the real world were thinnest, so the chalk circle, which marked the coldest point, also marked the best point of entry and exit from the pocket universe - which comes into use later when they need to get to the pocket universe
should I be spoiler tagging this now the episode is out
Just finished watching 'Hide'. Quite great. Ending did feel a tiny bit shoe-horned in, but it didn't bother me.
Hoping we'll learn more about Clara soon.
Somebody leaked the Clara reveal and it seems legit. I think I posted it on the last page. Have fun, you were far off. I don't think anybody could possibly guess it either. It's very Moffat in the sense Time Travel = Magic.
Meh, I was just going for the lamest, most realistic ending. But really, this is Doctor Who, so thankfully it'll be much more exciting :v:
I really loved Hide.
That monster scared the hell out of me, well... at least until they showed him.

About 2 or so minutes in I got up to turn the lights off and my mother was like "No! Don't!" :v:

Worth it for Smith's expression. :v:
I think the camera when Clara was in the pocket universe was supposed to be intentionally vague. Even when its the most violent flying ever, you can always see who is flying it/her
I love the little music cue when Clara apologies to the TARDIS after it's unusual groan. I can't pin down where it was used before. A very gentle version of I Am The Doctor.
It's been nice that I Am The Doctor has been used less.
And I can't remember the last time Fish Custard was used. :v:
In the Doctor Who world, what's the difference between a "transmat" and a "teleporter" or are they just different words for the same thing?
In the Doctor Who world, what's the difference between a "transmat" and a "teleporter" or are they just different words for the same thing?
A transmat is a type of teleporter.
In the Doctor Who world, what's the difference between a "transmat" and a "teleporter" or are they just different words for the same thing?
Originally Teleports didn't exist in Who. Only Transmat. Transport and teleport were words being used by other well known sci-fi stuff.
But in the last year or two nobody has been bloody editing the scripts properly.
Something you saw all the way through season 5 appears (lots of hints on my twitter feed for the past 2-3 weeks)
The creatures are characters we already know.
The Doctor, the Doctor and The Doctor all make an appearance
Rule number 1:
Here are some more teasers for Saturday.
It supports the idea that [sp]The Doctor has cloned himself unsuccessfully to resurrect The Timelords and now they're monstrous and abandoned in the TARDIS[/sp]
[editline]22nd April 2013[/editline]
Not sure what the others are about?
The first one [sp]Silence will fall? Cracks? The beautiful legs of Karen Gillan?[/sp]
The last one though is obvious.
Maybe [sp]these clones all have personalties and voices of past Doctors? Hence TDT saying 1, 2, and 8 will appear. We already know 9 does.[/sp]

This is being really picky, but does the second "the" not being capitalised suggest [sp]that character isn't the Doctor? As in, an actual doctor rather than the timelord?[/sp]
Or maybe I'm just thinking about it too hard.
Also, I was thinking about that TDT leak of the series finale [sp]about Trenzalore and Clara saving the Doctor in all of his timelines[/sp], and it would explain why [sp]Clara sees eleven in the outfits of his previous incarnations, as she'll be going back through all of them and saving him[/sp].
did anyone else burst out laughing when they showed the monster up close?

Only the second of those spoiler tags came from TDT.
TDT has no idea who Clara is and was banned from Gallifrey Base. It's also worth noting TDT only every got one thing right in the last few years.
TDT said Sally Sparrow was going to be the series 4 companion.

Well... it was a returning character.

Maybe [sp]it's either Silence or cracks. Silence makes more sense, though. But that last one has me more excited... Three doctors... I mean, if they're just clones it's still cool to see other "Doctors" but... they'd be clones. Eh...[/sp]

In the sense that it was a character who appeared in a previous episode coming back.
Like Donna.

Apparently they weren't initially sure if Catherine Tate would come back. So maybe.
That said from the moment Donna appeared she was planned to return in the series 4 finale. When Freema signed up for Martha in series 3, the series 4 finale was in her contract.
RTD plans ahead like a boss.

That would have been boss

idk if boss can be used in any more posts this page without a boss overload

Donna was a character who appeared in one episode and then subsequently returned as a companion.
If Sally Sparrow had been the S4 companion, she would also have fit this bill.

It had only been used twice before you posted :v:

Oohhh. The way he was saying it in my head made it sound like it actually happened and I started to wonder if I had hallucinated the entirety of Series 4 or something.

that last part is true
i'm sorry
To be fair, the end of S4 was borderline fanfiction anyway
shhh you guys I liked it. It was a glorious fan wank, sure. But a glorious fan wank is still a glorious wank.
did anyone else burst out laughing when they showed the monster up close?
Yep. It was obviously the intended reaction - so a job well done :v:
