I'm not even going to quote that spoiler post, Dan, as I know what will happen :v:
I'm resisting major 50th spoilers - for a change.
TDT (reliable source) has given a rather big spoiler about the 50th:
[sp]Kate Stewart is a Zygon. A Zygon at the top of UNIT command. A Zygon now in possession of The TARDIS[/sp]
oh fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck

Well it depends how major the Zygons are. As some say they're not. But TDT say it's important ;)

Tennant and Piper talking about Zygons just before Christmas and how they've not returned yet. Tennant probably already knew. Bastard.
I wish I could remember all that I watched from the pre-11 series. :(
I wish I could remember all that I watched from the pre-11 series. :(
This is exactly why I'm watching them all again
The Girl in the Fireplace's ending got me again, it's so fucking sad. Probably my second favourite Moffat episode behind Blink.
I'm on The Age of Steel and oh man is the guy playing Lumic (Trigger) acting badly on purpose???
i just watched love and monsters and holy shit it was torture fuck the pain away fuck the pain away

Sometimes I wonder how extended the Doctors family was.

Doctor you look different? Why don't you know who I am? Why are you a detective? I'm a priest now.

Ooooh some spoilers. Not that spoillery though, mostly behind the scenes stuff. Plus it's from a user who has never posted before so it may not be entirely reliable. I'll post here all the stuff they claim to have received from their "source". I'll bold the stuff that has been posted before by more reliable posters (so bold stuff is more likely to be true than not so bold stuff). Which is exciting.
- Matt Smith will leave during the Christmas special
- Steven Moffat will leave after the Christmas special.
- Production Hiatus in 2014 (Other users have implied 2014 will bring only a half series)
- Doctor 8 has a part in the 50th  Apparently you'll be seeing Paul on TV a fair bit in the coming months to promote Who related stuff in an effort to boost his profile. This could explain why he has grown his hair to a curly length like the wig he wore in the movie. Paul is super happy to be involved
- Doctors 10 and 11 are in the 50th
- Doctor 9 is in the 50th. Apparently the denial is a smoke screen from the BBC.
Here's a quote from this "leaker":
I used to post back in the day of gallifreyone! I posted info that was spot on about season 4 and the following year of specials, other than I misinterpreted the info for the companion being Carey Mulligan and not Catherine Tate! These sources are slippery buggers and still like to lead you up the garden path! I'm as skeptical as the rest but if you found where this came from they'd be exterminated as would I! But still, it's interesting to speculate!
This Paul news is really becoming more common. Interesting to say the least.

I've always wondered why of all The Doctors they decided to invite Paul to this event. He only did one episode. 11 was understandable as he's current. 4 and 5 were super popular amongst current production team. 8 baffled me. Some profile raising?
[editline]10th April 2013[/editline]
It's worth pointing out Paul also joined Twitter in January. Could be arguably more profile raising?
If all of that stuff is actually confirmed
This year is going to be amazing
[editline]10th April 2013[/editline]
But Matt leaving noooo :(

Undoubtedly profile raising, though not necessarily because he's going to appear in the special. It's the 50th anniversary year and there will still be a hell of a lot of people who have no idea who the Eighth Doctor is. And since they have to include him in publicity, they need to promote him a bit.
Also Matt is still filming, hence he couldn't show up.
idris elba with a ginger wig for 12th doctor
The Chris news being a smokescreen.. I want to believe but the Thor 2 reshoots......
infact, even with the reshoots, if Chris was THAT gutted with not being in, he could surely record some audio to have an offscreen appearance? Warwick Davies recorded a line on his iPhone for gods sake
"Production hiatus" is always a good phrase to hear when it comes to Doctor Who :v:
Though I have to question why are they hiring a new EP on a contract through December 2014, if that is true?
Also, Netflix UK have removed Classic Who?
I wish that we could have seen Matt under a different EP...

Because rumours = fact !!!!!!!
Because rumours = fact !!!!!!!
Even if those rumors aren't true, it's most likely that once Moffat leaves, Matt does too, like how Tennant and RTD left at the same time.
And we all know that Ecclestone left the same time as RT- oh wait
Eccleston didn't stay for three-four years, did he?
Even if Moffat leaves it doesn't mean Matt will leave, they may leave at the same time coincidentally. I really want to see Matt under a new head writer (I think it'll be Mark Gatiss or Steve Thompson next) to see what they'd do with him
guys im at season 6 (the last season on netflix)
how close am i to catching up to the latest stuff
season 5 was pretty cool.
I'd like some more interesting guest writers - Neil Gaiman, Richard Curtis, Paul Cornell and Robert Shearman come to mind. They often write some of the best episodes for the show - we need more of them.
Also, pretty sure Stephen Fry wrote an episode but never had time to finish it. It was supposed to be S2E11, but he pulled out, so Matthew Graham had to quickly write the crock of shit that is Fear Her to replace it.

The show's currently on episode 8 of series 7 (post-2005 reboot shows are referred to as in series, classic shows are referred to as in seasons).

Douglas Adams did some episodes for Classic Who, but yeah, it would be great to see some well-known authors/writers doing episodes. Doctor's Wife was the most interesting and well-constructed 2005 Who episode I've seen, I can't wait for Gaiman's episode this series.

It still gets me that there are more series of Doctor Who on the US Netflix than there are on the UK one
Hell, even the authors doing the 50th anniversary short stories like Eoin Colfer and J.K. Rowling could do good episodes.
I saw Hartnell's The Space Museum the other day. Really got a feel for the First Doctor's schtick, and I'm growing on him.

It's funny when times like these remind you and strike you as odd that he can be just as humorous as the likes of Matt Smith. Though I doubt they'd ever try this gag in the modern era.
Rumour round up.
It's getting crazy on GB. Threads are getting merged so it's hard to see what is speculation and what is a leak. I think this is more or less the "rumours" so far:
[sp]Remember my idea of having The Doctor inserted into past adventures using CGI and rebuilding sets? Not going to happen apparently.
Chris' role was minor. Tiny little role. A cameo. It has always been just Tennant&Smith focused.
Weirdest rumour so far: somebody is contributing to the 50th from beyond the grave. The source doesn't want to give too much away so is being very cryptic. It's a writer anyway. Somehow Moffat has got his hands on a script or a story from a great Who Writer and is incorporating it into his story. No idea who the writer is, but the possibilities are endless. If I had to guess I'd say it could be Douglas Adams, Terry Nation or Robert Holmes. Adams is the most famous, Nation invented the Daleks, and Holmes is considered by many (including Moffat) to be the best Doctor Who writer ever. However this is the weirdest rumour I've heard yet. Even though Holmes has a ton of unfinshed scripts (including anniversary episodes.
Lots of people saying Matt is leaving after Christmas. Well some say on the special, some say sometime after. One source says we will know Matt's successor in September/October. Only one person implies Moffat is bowing out but a few have implied production will change pace next year for whatever reason.
The most exciting rumour by far is the Paul McGann stuff. No idea what's going on here, these Who fan forums explode at the mention of his name. But the general theory is he is involved in some shape or form. But my gut tells me this could end up being nothing.
The joint weirdest/exciting rumour is that Chris is involved
[/sp]
These users don't get their leaks from people high up in production. Usually they come from sound guys, lighting guys, and runners. So that's why not everything leaks and things change so often.

Douglas Adams wrote Who before he got big for his novels. His Who was average. Easily wrote possibly the worst Davros/Dalek story ever.

Hartnell getting excited and laughing always reminds me of Yoda in Episode 5.
Dan stop making me have fan theories in the middle of class.
I'm kidding
