I forgot, what were the movies between 10s series end and 11s beginning? I still haven't watched them
4 specials
The movie's not that good. It's worth watching one time as it's a direct continuation from Sylvester McCoy's episodes, but I wouldn't go back and watch it again.
Yeah, but Paul wasn't bad as the Doctor.
I forgot, what were the movies between 10s series end and 11s beginning? I still haven't watched them
If you were watching on Netflix, they moved the ones they had to s4. they have all of then except for planet of the dead
I don't understand why The End of Time were in those "specials". It'd make more sense for it to be in the actual Series 4 considering the Doctor regenerated in it. I know two guys who skipped the specials because they didn't think it was essential to watch and they were thoroughly confused when they started Series 5. I tend to do the same with Christmas Specials, which is why I was confused about Clara. :v:
4 specials
Sweet, thanks!
It blows my mind that anybody would skip the specials. The last two are the regeneration story and ends on a cliffhanger that gets picked up in The Eleventh Hour.
Seems to be a bad idea to skip anything Doctor Who-related at all. Even those 5 minute shorts might be relevant to things...
It blows my mind that anybody would skip the specials. And even then, I don't think to check for specials. :( I'm sorry!
Smith gets Davos Seaworth's seal of approval.
Cunningham - who plays Captain Zhukov - told Access Hollywood this week that he greatly enjoyed seeing Smith embody the role of the Eleventh Doctor. "Matt Smith is a wonderful Doctor. He's wonderful," Cunningham declared, adding: "He's a very quirky character both in real life and as Doctor Who." The actor continued: "I'd seriously say, I think he's gonna go down as - definitely one of the classics of the Doctors, definitely, definitely, and a delightful human being - as is Jenna-Louise."
Oh right, this episode has Russians in it. Should I ready the stereotype counter?
Liam Cunningham is a bro.
So I've started planning and creating test footage for a Doctor Who Discussion series I'll be making to go on Youtube. What Is It? The target audience will be Doctor Who fans, mostly those who came in with the the 2005 series and want to know a bit more about the classic series or behind the scenes production. In general I want it to be enjoyable by all sorts of Doctor Who fans and to be interesting and informative. Of course it will contain a level of humour, but it's not a wacky Who review series. It won't involve episode reviews, I'm not planning on it anyway. Videos will be short and precise, usually 3 - 4 minutes long. It won't include long winded intros and I won't be appearing physically. It's not a vanity project. What Have You Got Planned? Well I don't want to do direct episode reviews. That idea is exhausted. But I may take a look at eras. Here are some episodes/series' I got planned: Episode: Doctor Who's Greatest Enemies This is the episode I'm currently drafting. It isn't going to be enemies of The Doctor but enemies of the show itself. A look at people who have threatened the show, cancelled it, and publicly attacked it. It will contain images, some archive video, and jokes at their expense. Episode: Is Doctor Who sexy? Inspired by recent press debate, I'll look at the new series of Who and debate if it's been "sexed up" in comparison to the classic series. Spoiler: it hasn't. Series: History Of XXXXX This will be a recurring series where I look at an enemy from the classic series in depth. This won't be a literal history or patronising. For example, an episode on The Master will focus on his crucial moments up until 2005 (2 minute), his recurring features such hiding in plain sight (1 minue), his presence in the revived series and future (1 minute). Ultimately I want these to be timeless and don't want them to end up outdated and needing redoing, so I shall avoid directly discussing elements of the 2005 series. The target audience would've likely seen those episodes anyway, no need to recount what you already know. Series: Reflecting on The XXXX Doctor This will be the closest we get to episode reviews. This is a look back on a whole Doctor's era. A direct look at the highlights and failings of that specific era. Also what went on behind the scenes, which will be interesting trust me. If it wasn't interesting they wouldn't be making that Docu-Drama. What Will It Look Like? Like I said, I won't be in it. Nobody wants to see a nerd talk to a camera about Doctor Who for ages (I do like Barry though, top bloke). So instead it'll be minimalist and narrated by my beautiful radio voice. It'll also be snappy, I can't stand it when things drag. Here's how it will roughly look: It looks a bit dull but it's highly animated in motion. Text bobbles and shakes and images slide/transition into shot and fizzle with a noise effect. It moves quick and I'll talk quick. It's my first time playing around with this so bare with me. I have lots of experience using video software but never like this. I'm gonna make a few episodes before I release them so I can get loads of experience and can keep improving them before release. That way each episode will be consistent and released punctually. Maybe once a week. Why Tell Us? You guys are the key audience. Does this sound like a series you want to see? Would you watch? Would you share? I want your suggestions on what you want to see covered and I'll add it to the list. Once I have about 5 episodes I'm proud of I'll start releasing them on a weekly basis. So don't expect any for a month or so, depending on how busy I am. Thoughts?
Not only do I want to watch it, I wanna be a part of it, dude. Seriously, for years I've been wanting to do one of these face-less discussion shows on Youtube. There's so much stuff I'd love to talk about. Doctor Who is just one of those. And we have a pretty tight community here at the thread, since it's always the same people talking about the show. If I was going to start anywhere, it would be here. So, yeah, looking forward to it.
Seems to be a bad idea to skip anything Doctor Who-related at all. Even those 5 minute shorts might be relevant to things...
love and monsters
love and monsters
Fear Her
I liked Fear Her and never really got the hate
Like I said, I won't be in it. It was okay. I'm one of the people who wanted Tennant to actually run with the torch last year in his Doctor suit.
For a second I thought you were going to link CharlieIsSoCoolLike
I sorta pissed off that crowd when I ranted at Alex Day on his blog post and he ended up messaging me on Youtube. I felt bad after that. Some rumbles that the Christmas Special is gonna be the nostalgic-y one. Not the special. Which is fine because technically the 50th year doesn't start until the special :P Also another source says Chris IS involved and the BBC is trying to cover it up desperatley If Chris is in it I'll cry with excitement ohmyword. [editline]13th April 2013[/editline] Cold War Hide Journey To The Centre Of The Tardis Apparently those who have seen them say all three are very good. Journey is "certainly going to cause a reaction from fans", in a good way. [editline]13th April 2013[/editline] Ooh then after that it's The Crimson Horror which is the 100th episode of NuWho! Also I predicted before this series started that Rings and Crimson would be the stinkers. So far I'm half right.
Also I am super-excited for Journey to the Centre of the TARDIS. And Cold War. And the finale with [sp]Smith in past doctor costumes[/sp]. Wooooooooo
Smith has an annoying habit lately of leaving the TARDIS door open when he rushes out
Smith has an annoying habit lately of leaving the TARDIS door open when he rushes out
I think it's nice. Enforces his character as a 1000 year old giddy school boy
I think it's nice. Enforces his character as a 1000 year old giddy school boy
he left it open in that huge populated alien market as well though kind of goes against his 'don't want it to fall into the wrong hands' quote from the London episode
he left it open in that huge populated alien market as well though kind of goes against his 'don't want it to fall into the wrong hands' quote from the London episode
maybe the new interior came with a spring loaded door?
Maybe TARDIS closes it by herself.
Maybe TARDIS closes it by herself.
Wasn't he able to click his fingers or close the TARDIS door just by doing a certain action? I can't remember. I'm sure he did something in Season's 3 & 4 to do it. He locked the TARDIS like a car once in the End of Time special, but that's all I can think of.
I never got that. It started in 1963. So 2013 is when it makes 50 years. Not 2014.
Well say you were born in November 1963. Do you celebrate your birth in April? No. You celebrate it in November. Then everything after that is your 50th year. [editline]13th April 2013[/editline]
Wasn't he able to click his fingers or close the TARDIS door just by doing a certain action? I can't remember. At the end of the episode Ten tried it and was surprised to see it worked. Eleven clicks his fingers all the time now.
Coleman has now revealed that one of the major reveals in the season finale will be why the Victorian-era version of Clara's birthday is November 23, the same day that Doctor Who premiered in 1963.
Thoughts?
Dan your YouTube discussion series sounds brilliant, I'm surely many Who fans including myself would watch it. Who knows maybe you'll attract the right attention and have the ability to invite "Guest" speakers to it if you know what I mean.
Well say you were born in November 1963. Do you celebrate your birth in April? No. You celebrate it in November. Then everything after that is your 50th year.
The year you're born is your first year. When you have your first birthday, you enter your second year. So when you celebrate your fiftieth birthday, you enter your fifty-first year. So it currently is the fiftieth year of Doctor Who.
