Currently reading Dante's Inferno for English class.
Actually, it's called The Divine Comedy. It's split into 3 parts. Inferno, Purgatorio, and Paridiso.

I love The Hobbit

Anywho, finished Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, and it was good. As was expected. On to Brighton Rock.
Currently reading this: for the third time. I love it, although heavily detailed.
So how about the situation in Libya guys?
I was merely trying to inform him.
Pretty sure anyone with half a mind is well aware.
Currently reading this. Didn't actually expect it to be so true to the plot of the original story if I'm honest, it's a good read, less pulpy than I expected but that's no bad thing
Anyone ever heard of the Folding Knife? I'm looking for books with "tricksters" http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/Tricksters
[img_thumb]http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51mIKYUS%2BKL.jpg[/img_thumb]
Read Inferno by Larry Niven and Jerry Pournelle when you're done with that.
I've been reading The Dresden Files, great series so far.

I am reading Charles Darwin's On the Origin of Species for Biology. Really gives me insight to a lot of things.

It's tough going, it's not too difficult to understand, just pretty heavy reading.

I've got The Greatest Show on Earth. It's a really interesting read, but I haven't got very far in it.
I've been getting back into the hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy, just finished Don't Panic. I can't find the other copies though, I think I lost them all. I guess I'll just have to buy them all again. Money well spent though.
Which book? I've got The Greatest Show on Earth. It's a really interesting read, but I haven't got very far in it.
I read some of the Greatest Show, that wasn't so bad. Right now I'm trying "The Selfish Gene".

The whole series that is. But I don't know. I'm not picky with much really. I like most books. :v:
I've decided I'm going to read the entire LOTR series, starting with the Hobbit. What's the deal with the publications of the main LOTR trilogy? I read somewhere that it's like two books to a volume, and then there's three volumes for each of the three parts? I'm so confused it's discouraging :(

I've read the first five chapters of Gibson's Neuromancer. Very cool.

Just picked this up today. Neil Gaiman is phenomenal.

Books books books. Started reading Contact, by Carl Sagan today. It's pretty neat, though I bet everyone in this thread has already read it. Science isn't my forte, but the characterization is excellent so far and the story is great. Also recently read Carpe Jugulum (Terry Pratchett) and The Last Wish (Andrzej Sapkowski).

Just finished reading I'm shocked no one has mentioned it. I started reading it and the first two pages sold me. The words just seem to flow together. I found myself going back to read various pages again just because they sounded so beautiful in my mind. Excellent use of foreshadowing, and in short the best fantasy book I think I've ever read.
I think it's only a short story isn't it? With most alien races discovering some piece of tech which humans never did and completely focusing on it to the level it allowed them space travel. But never discovering anything else, because they got everything they needed from said technology.
No i know those books, i've read "the road not taken" and "herbig haro" (which you're refferring to i belive) and while i was searching for additional info about one of those books i bumbed into the book i'm now looking for. And i read that it was humans making the first contact not the other way around.
