Totally got My Zombie Survival Guide signed. Also bought recorded attacks at Phoenix Comic Con. After getting the book signed, as I was leaving, I talked with Max Brooks on an escalator as a I was leaving the con. But it's not actually a good book for zombie survival, although it's a fun read.
It's actually a very good book, with an interesting twist at the end (actually, there are a ton of twists throughout the novel) that was probably more predictable than I thought it was. Some of the scientific jargon took ages to get through, though.. If you're a fan of science fiction, I would highly recommend it.

I went to the local used book store and picked up Brave New World, The First Men In The Moon and Rendezvous with Rama. I started Rama last night and read about half of it before deciding I had to get some sleep. :buddy:
Currently going through Grisham's Rainmaker. Very, very slowly.
It annoys me when books end with an "extrapolate yourself" type ending. As in, books that don't close the plot, rather allowing you to think of one yourself. I read books for the story - if I wanted to make up my own story, I'd just use my imagination.

It looks silly but trust me it's awesome. [editline]31st May 2011[/editline] It's 800 something pages though so it's rather long if you hate long books.

Tom Clancy's books are great! So the movies adaptations :buddy:
I have every Tom Clancy novel but Red Rabbit; someday I shall read the entire collection in chronological order and I will reach enlightenment. I also have a signed photo :smug:

It still depresses me about how my favorite fucking character [sp]dies in such a bad way. ALIIIIIICE.[/sp]
This has got to be one of my favorite books if not the favorite. You made me want to read it again. Also the one I read had this cover: If you liked Cell you'd really like Blaze as well (at least I did).
Best book.
The best of his books in my opinion.
Finished Sinclair Lewis's "It Can't Happen Here". Nicely written, finished faster than I thought it would. I personally like its depiction of the rise of an authoritarian figure. And moving onto a book of similar nature but probably more of a bummer, Jack London's "The Iron Heel"
[editline]2nd June 2011[/editline] Also this one
Catch-22 is definitely one of the best books I have ever read, I would recommend it to all that have some time on their hands.
What a fucking read. At 1,074 pages it gallops at a breakneck pace. Gotta get a hold of The Stand soon.
Fucking this: My favorite Sci-fi book of all time, it's very engrossing, and the scientific information is very interesting. Will guarantee a science boner to anyone interested in space/astronomy

Read that in high school as encouraged by my US History teacher. Its an amazing book.
I don't care what anyone says, this book is fucking amazing.
I'm on the 5th book of the hitch hiker's guide to the galaxy series. I've got to say, I am not liking this one, nor did I like the 4th one, as much as the first 3. I am kinda scared to read Eoin Colfer's book because I don't like it when other authors write for other story arcs, but I'll see. My US History teacher is making the class read this book for the summer, can anyone that's read it tell me if it's good enough to get a copy or should I just read it online?
Just finished Life of Pi. Great book. [sp]Are there any pictures of the carnivorous island out there? That place sounded bad-ass.[/sp]
I just started reading Foundation by Isaac Asimov. It's a little confusing, but what I gather is Trantor is the rough equivalent of Corusant. Other than that I am completely lost. Does the book pick up eventually?
Shrike is such a dick
That he is. The book amazed me though, halfway through the second right now
