I bought 2-4 of The Walking Dead.
The comics are better than the TV series.
Well I don't know about you but this Kindle is the best thing I've ever bought.
Besides the computer of course but that's a given.
Print this out and get him to sign it.

It's funny because that's not necessarily right either. Lactic Acid Fermentation <3
Also, I've been catching up on the Star Trek books recently. On my Kindle. Makes it that much easier.
I'm on Zero Sum Game so far.

I just sorta bend my thumb down so its horizontal. Plus if you're holding a book so the text faces up, gravity's gonna bend the rest of the pages down anyways. I don't see why anyone would need this.
I would buy a kindle, no problem.
If it actually had any fucking interesting books on it.
Just finished The Catcher in the Rye, jesus fucking finally. Holden is so goddamn unlikeable I can't believe I got through it.

The first chapters are basically about how much genocide happened due to European explorers. I'd hate to be an Arawak indian in the 1600's.

Basically a summed up version of American History
While I like Tom Clancy in general, the one thing I hate about his writing style is that he'll go into absurd detail about one little thing or give you the entire life story to a minor character who doesn't even qualify as a minor character, only to NEVER MENTION THEM AGAIN.
Also he'll make a big deal about events that end up being completely dwarfed by other events that happen later in the story.
Over-infatuation with technology and "American über alles" spoils most of his works too. If any of you are going to read "Red Storm Rising", I'd recommend dropping it and picking up Ralph Peters' "Red Army". (This is coming from someone who's read Red Storm Rising over 20 times as a kid)

I just finished reading both these books. The first one was recommended to me by a history teacher and is a good read if your interested in that time period. The second one isn't something I'd usually read but I can highly recommend it. It's about a lawyer who meets again with a childhood friend after she commits a double murder. Never before has a story from a book made me feel so uncomfortable.
I've been wanting to read the '1001 Arabian Nights' for awhile, does anyone know a good edition?

This book is fucking awesome.
I also had to print out every page one by one.
Stupid rare book not being available in my area. :|
It was worth it though, I highly recommend it if you like sci-fi and the S.T.A.L.K.E.R game series.

I've been wanting to read that for a while, haven't gotten around to it sadly.
I found the only copy of that in Borders once. I felt lucky to get it, it's great.
The last book I read was 'Heart Shaped Box' by Joe Hill (well, I listened to an audio-book).
I enjoyed it, but kept thinking that his style was very similar to Stephen King. Turns out it's his son.
It's pretty much a Stephen King novel where Stephen King's love of rock n roll music is replaced with his son's love for metal.
Just finished this.

I also abso-fucking-lutely love that image of the logic butterfly. It would've been far, far more fitting if [SP]Prime Intellect had experienced personal evolution rather than staying within the bounds of eir own limited programming; having "simpler imagination" and a bunch of other things. If e had really become a God, then the image would be just the perfect touch.[/SP]
And the cover was made in MS Paint, was it?
Just got 3 great books, I love them all so far.

Basically the best of TheOatmeal in a book with a few exclusives, really good if your a fan.

Just Demetri Martin writing down his... Demetri Martin stuff... really not easy to explain, but a great and hilarious book nonetheless.

A collection of some of the best of 27bslash6, though I've already read most of them online, it's nice to have a collection of em.

I've been reading this for the past couple of days. I've gotten to page 126, and I must say I am really enjoying it so far. It's a long read though, at around 1000 pages, with a really small font.
Anthem is the only Rand book I've managed to read because I looked at how thick the Fountainhead was and said fuck that.
I finished Sinclair Lewis's It Can't Happen Here, good stuff. Now moving on to Perdido Street Station by China Mieville based off a recommendation from a friend.

It's also her only decently written book.
Five bucks a piece on Discount Book Stores. Better and cheaper than the PBs.

I've never been huge on buying used books, but recent experiences at a few local used book stores have changed my mind. Some books at cheap prices and in great conditions.
Just picked up War and Peace by Tolstoy today.
I've been meaning to do it for months.

Yeah, I have nothing against buying used books but I don't buy them online if I have a choice. And if it's a new book I'd rather buy it new.
Almost finished with Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, loved every bit of it. Lovecraft's next, which will probably last me a while.
Just finished The Road by Cormac McCarthy, now, I know why it won the Pulitzer Prize. [sp]That pregnant woman, then eating the baby part, really fucked up my head.[/sp]
Quick question: Does anybody else have a lot of trouble creating an image of the locations or enviorments in books? I do and it's been bothering me, so it would be interesting to know if there is anybody who has trouble from this.
Which one should I read for my AP English III summer reading?
Nickel and Dimed: On (Not) Getting by in America, by Barbara Ehrenreich
Complications: A Surgeon’s Notes on an Imperfect Science, by Atul Gawande
Reading Lolita in Tehran: A Memoir in Books, by Azar Nafisi
Where Men Win Glory, by Jon Krakauer
The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks, by Rebecca Skloot

I do sometimes, and that's because I have ADD.
