The Night Angel Trilogy, by Brent Weeks. Absolutely fantastic series. Plenty of knitty-gritty battles, an absolute bloodbath when it comes to fights, it's great for that stuff. Characters are described perfectly and they all have brilliant personalities, personalities that feel real and get you really emotionally attached to the characters in question. The use of magic in the book is confusing at first, but you soon come to love how original the idea is and how fascinating it all is. Definitely a MUST read, and I'm telling you, do the wise thing and buy all three books together because I assure you after the first book you will just want to jump right into the next book. After you've read that, give this book a try, by the same author: Same battles we all know and love, with the in-depth descriptions and the brutality of it all makes for an exciting read. Characters are beautifully developed, and he comes up with yet another original take on magic. The twists and turns in the plot will keep you constantly guessing as to what will happen next, a really beautiful book. I'm aching for the sequel to come out. Hope you guys give it a try, and if you do, I hope you love it as much as I did.
Yeah, these books actually got me back into reading again. Also if you want, pick up the prequel to the Night Angel Trilogy called Perfect Shadow. Its short but its a pretty good read.

Finished the first Storm of Swords book. Gotta say, a song of ice and fire is indeed my favorite series of all time. [editline]15th January 2012[/editline] Reading through the Forever War Omnibus, also.
Not going to lie, I really hated OM&M. Most of Steinbeck, really. He drags on forever
of mice and men is like 100 pages if that drags on too much for you then I really don't know what wouldn't
Tomorrow I'm ordering a Kindle, can't wait!
Tomorrow I'm ordering a Kindle, can't wait!
At first I thought the Kindle would be crap; in actual fact it's the complete opposite, it's fantastic. I've always been the type to prefer a solid book in my hands, nothing beats reading a solid book. Of course, the fact that you have a physical collection of your books which you can keep in an awesome mahogany bookcase (aww yeah) is a big perk too. Nothing describes a personality better than a bookcase. Someone walks into your apartment, sees your book collection and BAM, almost instantly they know what your likes and dislikes are, and no doubt it'll spark a conversation. With the Kindle, you can't have that. However, the fact that you can't doesn't really matter. I love my Kindle. I use it to get most books cheaply online, then I buy the physical books later on to add to my collection. Plus, the in-built dictionary is amazing. Before, if I came across a word I wasn't sure of, I'd just guess as to what it meant (I'd usually be right!), however, I can now just guess what it means, then define it in two seconds and see if I'm right or not. It's a really nifty little feature. Plus, the ability to write notes in the book is a superb feature too. I whip it out in class sometimes when I'm in English and I can write notes that the teacher tells me to, and it's all handily filed away neat-and-tidy. So yeah, Kindles are awesome! However, I highly suggest you buy physical books too, to add to your collection :) Enjoy buddy <3

Really looking forward to it, cheers mate!
American Psycho is fabulous. so are all of george orwell's books.
Recently found out that Inheritance was out already, gonna go buy it now!
For some reason, Paolini's writing style always makes me think that it will be hard to get into when I start reading it, but then it isn't. Like when I started Inheritance, I was just thinking "Oh great, it's gonna be really boring because of the writing style" and then I read 150 pages without stopping.
I started reading this book called Hell in a very small place: The siege of Dien Bien Phu by Bernard Fall. It goes in-depth detail of the bloody battle during the French Indochina War. I'm only a few chapters in, but it is very interesting so far to say at the least.
I'd have to buy a kindle, simply because none of the others support .pdf
My Sony Reader PRS-300 supports .pdf and .epub. I miss my old PRS-505. The screen got damaged, and never worked again. It was nice because the screen was bigger and it had SD slots.

I think I read it about 3 times now. I'm not a RPG player, but I seriously enjoyed the story. Yahtzee managed to create a consistent world, which I could easily see in a MMO. The story itself isn't straightforward, there are a few twists (especially the ending is hilariously cruel). And although the main character is a dick (what else to expect from Yahtzee :v:), he's likable. It's hilarious that his main goal is to [sp]kill himself[/sp], which he just isn't able to. All in all, for fans of RPGs and Zero Punctuation, I can fully recommend it. It's also damn fun if you're not a gamer or you never play RPGs, but you'll miss some jokes.
Fine Russian literature, coming through. I love the typically Soviet humor and the subplot with Ha-Nocri (Jesus). It revolves around Satan and his court visiting Moscow, quite a bold move on Bulgakov's part in an era where religion started to become controversial (one hilarious moment is when an atheist tells Satan to his face that he does not exist, of course not knowing who he is speaking to).

I read it over like 3 days or something, which is quick for me
Calibre converts them in a few seconds and automatically adds it to your device. :|
I just converted one and the formatting came out all terrible and some parts were mixed up it's readable just fucking annoying

Holy shit, read about halfway through John Dies At The End during a car ride today. It's fucking great.
Just finished The Evolutionary Void by Peter Hamilton, it was a great Sci-Fi read, and the book had a great way of tying everything up at the end. Also, I got to further my tradition of listening to the Dr. Who theme after finishing a Sci-Fi series. it just fits so well
eh, I hear some people have problems with converting PDFs, though they've always converted perfectly for me.
It did have a lot of tables and diagrams in it, that might have been why.
its a book about london and babies in laboratories and there's a chick and a savage and future stuff. overall p good book. [editline]10th March 2011[/editline] really it's perfect.
There's alot more to it then that but have you read 1984? [editline]17th January 2012[/editline]
Just finished Have you read Dante's Inferno? [editline]10th March 2011[/editline] Are you a fan of his collected short stories? Also these books are fantastic. I got so absorbed in The Amber Spyglass that I read the whole thing in a day.
Ever since I got a cheap android tablet, I've been reading books on it like a madman. While pdf files slow the machine down a ton (it's a cheap tablet), .epub files work great on it (besides a bit of formatting). For anyone with an android tablet or anything that uses .epubs, I want to point you to a nifty site. Basically, it's a neat site where you can download epubs, pdfs, or most ebook file types for books that have their copyright expired, like A Tale of Two Cities, the Bible, or Philosophiae Naturalis Principia Mathematica.
Just started to read A Fire Upon the Deep. Its a little hard to keep up with everything and especially with one of the most important races which [sp]Have one shared mind to up to four bodies[/sp] but other than a slight confusion every now and again it is a very good read.
