Practicality is not what I am looking for, I think we could start a new era of airsoft matches, maybe we could be better than those old war re-enactors shooting silly blanks.
Remember the KTW flintlock? If you can make sense of the assembly here, you theoretically should be able to scale it up and make a flintlock.

Good luck doing so, I wouldn't mind marching into an airsoft match/game/op with a drum.
I think I understant it but I have no access to such items or plastic forming, maybe if I bought some parts and all I could rig up a prototype and submit it to a company to produce a few over the summer once I raise the funds.

How about this, if you build a musket, Ill build a cannon :science:
Instead of using a latch to hold the bb in place, use a small piece of tissue. Make it that more realistic.
I'm not sure how well a spring just hitting the bb will work. In airsoft guns it's the piston on the spring pushing air against the bb, not the piston itself. You might try some tests with an inner barrel, and a spring with a rod attached that fits down the barrel. I wouldn't be surprised if it only shot 50 feet or so.
Do you find it cumbersome and hard to maneuver with? I mostly play in woodland areas, but they're quite dense so maneuverability is something to consider for me. I also play in densely wooded areas and I do not find it difficult to navigate with it for the most part. After using my AKS-74un for a few matches then switching back to the M14 its a bit more difficult to move as fast through thick brush though.
Also, how is the accuracy? Do you get tight groupings? Do you find you can hit targets consistently? The accuracy on the G&G M14 is great. I always get tons of kills even if only a leg or arm is poking out of the side of a tree.
And approximately how far is the effective range? TBH I suck ass at approximating range so I really can't say. I'll try and get someone else to tell me how far it shoots, all I can say though is that it has really nice range (to be expected with such a long barrel).
I'm looking into purchasing this gun so I want to know.
oh yea, I was thinking like a slingshot, but I don't know.
and the paper would be holding the spring back too? that won't work.
Maybe I could make it gas instead and just have a BB and a piece of tissue wadded down the hole to keep the BB from falling out and the c02/green gas /whatever would push them both out, then we have to calculate the ammount to be released and how to do that versus howmany shots we can get out of it to make it more practical, I was thinking hollow the stock and have it store the gas, and where the striker cap would go we have the filling nozle, and the hammer can be pulled back and released to protect the nozle giving not needed functions/parts a purpose.
I didn't say the paper would hold the spring down, you still need the latch for that. The paper is only to prevent the rolling of the bb.
i have one question.
Why does this cost 0.00$

Yes, but I assumed you were speaking to get rid of the latch, but I re-read now and figure out what you mean, I still think gas would be a good option, however spring would make more sense and be more realistic (FYI a real musket was best at around 50ft if I remember correctly maybe it was 100, no idea.)
A gas tank might be the way to go, it's just designing a trigger and so forth to release it in even amounts. Pressurized gasses isn't my specialty. If you wanted a simple rig, get one of those CO2 bike tire inflators to fire it. Not sure how fast they really release the gas though.
Yea maybe use a system like that, but then you have to know the tank is empty, maybe have a safety release button that releases all the gas in a time period to keep you from accidently hurting your self when you think the canister is empty and it is not, an external gas tank is an option but I don't know how well that will do.
I know a C02 canister requires 3/4ths and inch hole drilled (we are making C02 cars in woodshop so I learned this recently) so the stock would have to be hollowed and end up looking pretty bad if we did an internal C02 function that has to be removed, a implanted tank would be a much better option and the ability to hopefully hollow the stock from another angle that would be easier to hide would be a huge plus.
Make it steampunk-like and build an external tank into the stock.
Yea but dark the reason behind it was to be old and like a musket.
I already have a steam punk m4 body kit I plan on next year after I take my welding classes and shit.

Okay, so I'm looking for a GBB 1911. I love the look of the absolutely plain M1911 with wood grips, but the WE 1911 that fits that is a bit iffy. Best GBB 1911? I'd go with KWA PTP or NS2 (if they even have an NS2 1911) but KWA GBBs shoot waaaaay too hot. Looking for close quarters here, around 310ish FPS at highest.
All back 1911s are cool too, I'd just buy wood grips. Preferably not with a threaded barrel.

Prometheus. I have the systema one and it did little to improve its accuracy from stock.
I just got a Prometheus, and it seemed quite nice.
Sweet, thanks to both of you.
Anyone know the best place to get a Kobra red dot sight? Googling (or is it googleing?) "Kobra red dot" gives me a few sites that sell them. Been looking at this but just want some outside opinion.

Real one - probably kalinka optics for a new one, or look around for a second hand one somewhere, they occasionally crop up on ebay.
Clone one - anywhere that sells them.
If I remember right there's a clone Kobra out there.

Fuck
Thanks, but I'm not seeing any on Kalinka Optics. I'll keep looking around.
[editline]10:16PM[/editline]
I heard the clone is meh, I'm going for the real deal. Is the one on that website I linked to a real one?

It's real, but I've heard binocularsmart are a little shady.
The clone isn't too shabby, I had one and it worked fine.
If you're looking for a real sight, the PK-AS is far superior and is only $30 more.

Hmm... Sorry for all the questions but what negative things have been said about them?

You do realize that the whole point of this thread is to ask people for their opinions right? English is also not his first language.
I'm about to upgrade some of the internals of my gun and a hydration carrier and I was wondering your guys opinions on the stuff I'm looking at so I don't waste my money and any other upgrade suggestions.

A 229 mm inner barrel can fit my gun right now without poking out of the metal flash hider and my gun shoots about 400+ fps right now and the limit on the fields is 400 for standard AEGs.
