Any rig you have will be fine for a newbie. Just don't get a crossdraw. Just get what you like.
Just not a crossdraw.
That's very true. What's a decent chest rig that'll fit me? What do you use?
I use a OE Tech RRV, OE tech is considered low end gear, but its great on a budget, and my rig has held up just fine.
The issue with many of the MOLLE vests on the market is that you need to make the initial investment on the vest, and then go out and spend more on the pouches.
If you want a non-MOLLE pre-built vest for very cheap, I would recommend the OE tech Commando rigs, tons of space for the price:

I disagree, I don't think OE Tech is low-end gear in the least. What makes them low end? (I'm not offended, just confused.)
I've never had an OE Tech rip on me, they always fit MOLLE webbing, always do what they're supposed.

Like I said, Ive never had issues either. It would be considered low end since its basically Chinese made shit with weak stitching and overall poor quality control. For airsoft, it works just fine and dandy.
Compared to Pantac, Tactical tailor, Eagle, and other military gear suppliers, its shit.
It's official. The Department Homeland Defense -Address Omitted- Effective date June 12th 2010 has hereby purposed special trust and confidence in the demonstrative potential of it's Armed Forces. As a result the following approval of the 'Requisition of new Standard Infantry Rifle' has been put through the chair.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but does that mean the Army is requesting a new type of rifle?!
I'll take a 6.8 M4 Carbine, with a Five seveN. Kthanks, US Gvt.
I consider my home a sovereign country and said country has allocated funds to our Defense budget.

As far as I know, OE Tech is owned by Condor, and Condor is not shit, seeing how they just fulfilled a military contract.

This is true. Condor is considered low end though.
What was in the contract they filled? Because I seriously doubt is was something major like vests. Pouches, maybe.
Plus Im pretty sure that the OE tech stuff isnt the same as the stuff Condor markets to the military, not 100% on that though.
Edit:
Yeah, they must be marketing their new line of "MADE IN THE USA" products to the military. The stuff marketed to airsofters is the Chinese stuff.

Condor is pretty expensive depending on what you buy.
And they shipped a ton of Multicam to Afghanistan, since the Army is prepping for the switch. Anyone else notice how you can't find an assault pack in Multicam made by Condor?
Condor has never failed me. Their quality is superb.
I finally finish my ACU loadout and the Army adopts Multicam.
I finally finish my ACU loadout and the Army adopts Multicam.
You're welcome.
Eh, I'm on partial enlistment. By the time I finish AIT, I'll have Multi.
ACU's will still be used, just not in the Afghan environment.

Likewise, its never failed me. But we use it for airsoft. And its superb for the price. Like I said, it doesn't have shit on Eagle, Tactical tailor, etc.
How is ShortyUSA for buying AEGS?

I know plenty of Soldiers who have used Condor in hostile environments. Sure there are better brands. But I trust Condor more. Pantec, Eagle, Tactical Tailor I've rarely heard about.
Though I would love a Pantec vest.

They overprice shit so hard it hurts.
They also lie through their teeth and fake reviews.

It got a 6 out of 10 on Resellerratings.com

Your call.
Their website design is eye rape too.
Shit lol
but this Thompson is 80 bucks! :v:
it's becoming more and more apparent to me that I'm going to end up with an AR-15 variant lol

As do I, and I know a bunch of them hated it :v:
Pantac Ive heard nothing but good things about though, my local SWAT team uses it, and a couple of the guardsmen I know used it in Iraq. Eagle-like quality for a good deal cheaper apparently.
Shit lol

Take a chance then.
It's like ordering from AirSplat! You never know....
The mention of airsplat makes me rage.
Also, link us to the Thompson you're referring too please.

So then we've heard similar things. I like Condor packs, and Pantac vests. Does that make me any less of an airsofter?
Go to the site, hit electric and sort it by price. You'll see it.
and I was kidding lol don't shoot yourself yet.
It's out of stock regardless.

I was actually considering Airsplat for my first AEG purchase.
Then I found G.I., and that's where I got my first actual gun. An A&K SR-25 URX. 'Twas beautiful.
Why is airsplat so bad?
I don't even want to get into it, someone else will have too because it'll just put me into a bad mood.
Damn, I'm assuming that you had a bad experience with them
I've never ordered from them infact. Just browsing their site and reading the horror stories from other people have been enough.

There's about 11 pages worth of that.
