They had a tip that you were handing out pills. That is enough probable cause to justify a search of a motor vehicle. Unjust? Yes. Legal? Yes.
No it is not. They cannot search your house or your car. That is not school related whatsoever. Not to mention, if the story is completely accurate, this was not a police officer. [editline]05:38PM[/editline]
The law is "Students are not allowed to have ANY medications on campus including over the counter drugs, Prescription medicine, Cough Drops, etc."
That isn't law, that is school policy. Disobeying school policy is not illegal.
Well, the America haters have arrived.
I'm pretty sure most people here are American public school policy-haters.

I never really got why the concept of "if you don't sign this and agree that we can do whatever we want to you, then you can't do it" exists, in some ways I guess it can protect a place legally. It's like the sheet of paper we have to sign if we want to park in the school parking lot, if we don't sign it, we can't park there, but if we do, we can, only it allows the school to rip your car apart if need be.
Ya but the punishment for breaking school policy is usually Suspension
You get to stand up to false authority, AND get a vacation out of it. Kickass.
I was gonna link FP to a site that documented stories about the no tolerance story but it's down now >:|
Ya but the punishment for breaking school policy is usually Suspension
But if you are carrying drugs and deny a search, you won't get arrested. :cop:

Everyone parked in a public parking lot across the street. So many drug deals went down in that lot.
Oh God, it'll be the 1960's all over again.
I don;t want to jump to conclusions but it doe's almost seem that way, First it was Women, then it was Blacks, now we have to fuck with pre-18 population.
poor black female teenagers
You get to stand up to false authority, AND get a vacation out of it. Kickass.
Your forgetting that he will end up having to do twice the work for a few weeks to catch up with his class.
Its also your fault. The law is "Students are not allowed to have ANY medications on campus including over the counter drugs, Prescription medicine, Cough Drops, etc." EDIT: Unless said student provides a doctors note.
And your okay with(possibly theoretically) spending your tax dollars to support these bullshit violations of privacy and freedom. edit:Feel like explaining that rating?
Also I was suspended for a week one time because I was defending myself against some retard attacking me.
Damn I'm glad I got into a charter school.
And your okay with(possibly theoretically) spending your tax dollars to support these bullshit violations of privacy and freedom.
"Possibly theoretically" is redundant. GJ
"Possibly theoretically" is redundant. GJ
How is it redundant, it might be a theoretical statement if you don't pay taxes, or it might not be if you do.
Your forgetting that he will end up having to do twice the work for a few weeks to catch up with his class.
Get a friend to bring you the notes/work and do it at home. I had an out of school suspension for 5 days and used it to cheat and get better grades. By the time I came back, the work done during that week had already been graded so I had the answers ready to go. I remember that my metal shop teacher let me come in and work on my welding assignments during this, which was awesome.
At matey9 we have a "zero tolerance" policy for bullshit invasion of privacy :cop:
"Possibly" and "theoretically" mean almost the same thing therefor your statement is redundant.
The stupid no tolerance thing at my school basically got me humiliated after this kid started kicking me on the bus I can't fucking afford a suspension ffff
The stupid no tolerance thing at my school basically got me humiliated after this kid started kicking me on the bus I can't fucking afford a suspension ffff
Kick back and enjoy martyrdom. Show them your internet detective badge and say you were on assignment.
Thats just...wtf? LOL. Americans...land of the dumb. Edit: One time this girl had a diabetic fit and I gave this teacher this syrup sweet thing and she recovered - got thanked for it. I guess in America I would get expelled for sweets and the girl would have been left to have a fit? Edit2: And probably die...amirite?
And what if her sugar was too high? I hate self defense suspension. Fucking stupid.
I hate self defense suspension. Fucking stupid.
Is this "Even the victim gets in trouble!" mentality really that prominent in US public schools?
"Possibly" and "theoretically" mean almost the same thing therefor your statement is redundant.
Are you stupid or something?
Yep, Suspended for self defense here.
Yep, Suspended for self defense here.
Mind if I ask how they justify this kind of bullshit?
I got suspended for saying "watup my nigga" to a friend. damn you 0 tolerance
Wah wah my school is unfair.
Comon dude, you have my respect, don't throw it away :(
I hate self defense suspension. Fucking stupid.
DERAILMENT AHEAD This. When my father was in high school, he wore metal toed boots and would stomp the living shit out of anyone that was prone to attack him. The funny thing is, every time he did that he would get called down to the office. Yet, when my father stood by and let them do what they intended, they escaped unscathed by false authority. The "Zero Tolerance of Bullying" in schools is a fucking joke. I've seen kids on numerous accounts being harassed to the point of having no dignity. Teachers would look over, but would not intervene. I don't understand that, at all. If you say you have zero tolerance on something, then show you have fucking zero tolerance.
