I got a thing put in my permanent record about me having drugs. They were cold pills... for my COLD.
In our school another kid directly started a fight with only the reason of not liking the guy, the guy defending himself got the same punishment as the guy who started the fight. It's unbelievable how someone can't even defend themself without getting suspended.
DERAILMENT AHEAD This. When my father was in high school, he wore metal toed boots and would stomp the living shit out of anyone that was prone to attack him. The funny thing is, every time he did that he would get called down to the office. Yet, when my father stood by and let them do what they intended, they escaped unscathed by false authority. The "Zero Tolerance of Bullying" in schools is a fucking joke. I've seen kids on numerous accounts being harassed to the point of having no dignity. Teachers would look over, but would not intervene. I don't understand that, at all. If you say you have zero tolerance on something, then show you have fucking zero tolerance.
I know someone who spent his Christmas vacation in a mental hostpital under suicide watch because he was being bulled in his middle school. Apparently, since the poor kid started school, these (I'm not being racist here, this was his words) tough-looking "gansta'" kids threatened the kid into participating in gang-related activities like stealing money and giving it to them. He didn't want to do it, but they threatened to beat the living shit out of him if he didn't do exactly what they said. The school did nothing. It continued to the point where they made him steal from his parents. The school did nothing. Eventually the kid snapped, knocked out one of the kids in the middle of class, and was tackled to the ground and held down while he was screaming "IMA GONNA FUCKING KILL YA, YA HEAR!!!". He had a knife with him. Oh. The school does something. Holy shit it's a fucking miracle. What did they do? Sent him to a psych ward for a psychological evaluation and was put under suicide watch for 12 days. Then expelled the victim. Bullies got off the hook because they had no physical evidence to show they did anything wrong. No Tolerance: Making your kids go batshit insane since 2001.
Is this "Even the victim gets in trouble!" mentality really that prominent in US public schools?
Sadly yes It's happened to me.

I can't believe they didn't do anything while he was being bullied.

Yeah, my school is strict like that too.

When the principal was discussing the implementation of a rule similar to this, I really wanted to ask "So by your logic, if someone brings an AK-47 to school, we should all run and find a teacher and pray that we don't get mowed down by the storm of bullets, rather than attempting to disarm him?", but I know I'd be arrested for saying that.
like i have said many times before the public education in the US is a joke and if you weren't a senior i'd suggest private/homeschool its not just no tolerance that needs to be fixed, its the whole system

Really school is a shit place for legal issues.
You guys have to know that you do have a say. It's not right to just take the shit as you go. That's what fucks up school, nobody giving a shit about what happens to the people around them. If you don't want them doing something, then say it out loud to the highest people there.
Kind of an interesting story on the injustice that is going on in schools all across the nation. This just happened to me today. Let this go as a warning to all you high schoolers so this doesn't happen to you. So today started off just like any other day, but in 4th period I get sent down to the office. No clue as to why. They said someone had called the Silent Witness hotline for our school and reported that I had been seen "handing out pills at the local park." So they just had to follow procedure and search all my belongings including my vehicle that I drive to school. They didn't find anything in my backpack and pockets but when they searched my car, they found a bottle of aspirin. Alright this asperin was tucked away deep under lots of crap in my glovebox. I forgot I even had the stuff. The bottle was full minus the 2 or 3 I had for my headache. Over the summer I drove to Colorado which is well over a 13 hour drive from where I live, and I drove it straight through without cruise control. When I arrived I had a massive headache so I went out and got some aspirin. I just put it away in my car and forgot about it. I now have a 10 day suspension. Yep, 10 days. For aspirin. In my car. I'm a senior and I've attended all 4 years at this school and this is my first disciplinary action. I've never even been tardy for a class. This really makes me lose faith in humanity. Something really needs to change with this system.
Welcome to the utter bullshit that is life. I have to admit you have my sympathy. That really sucks man. For having a common pain medication in your car and you get suspended. Thats beyond fucked up.
Kick back and enjoy martyrdom. Show them your internet detective badge and say you were on assignment.
:ssh:
i got suspended for 2 weeks when i was in 9th grade for having 3 pills of 20 MG tramadol (painkillers), my English teacher saw me pop one in the lunchroom and he was like "MISTER ******* WHAT THE HELL DID YOU JUST TAKE!?! COME WITH ME YOUNG MAN." Migraines == pain Painkillers == Relief Tramadol =/= drugs. Douches.
You think that's bad? Try getting accused for an AK-47 Bullet in school. The asshole behind me rolled it under my desk, and immediately flipped out saying "OMG LOL Wtf!???" and screamed that I had a gun. Needless to say, nothing I said or did could save me. 180 days Suspension. Note that I did NOT have one, or have never touched a bullet or gun in my life.

Over here you're only allowed to suspend people for 30 days or less.
Oh fuck them, we didn't come all this way not to have tolerance. I guess I feel incredibly lucky that my school isn't nearly as bad as most I heard of.

I forgot to put on my ID lanyard one day (it was in my backpack). To my dismay, I was caught in 3rd period without it. Despite my irritated protest and insistance that the ID lanyard was in my backpack (even after showing it to the teacher) I was sent to the office and had to pay $5 to get another ID printed. Even though I showed the office people that I had the lanyard, too. I was going to use that $5 to buy a ticket to the football game my school had at a new fancy-pants NFL stadium for my friend so she could go to the fancy-pants NFL stadium in question. :argh:

Shit happens man. Sometimes you just need to forget about it and move on.
Shit happens man.
Well you're edgy. Then again you'll realize how stupid you are when you notice that everyone in this thread knows that shit happens. We're discussing what kinds of shit happens, and how shitty that shit is when it does happen. Contribute or get out.
my school has no tolerance late policies so if you're not in a room when the bell rings you are locked out and you get a detention and consecutive lates get you ISS/OSS my classes are literally on opposite sides of the building so in order to get to them on time I have to carry my entire backpack with all of my things, sucks walking around carrying 30 pounds of shit all day it is really funny to watch all the freshmans who have no idea where to go running around school though
Shit happens man. Sometimes you just need to forget about it and move on.
Yeah, man. Just stop being a pussy and take it like a man. Shit will change if you just do nothing about it. [sp]no[/sp]

[sp]no[/sp]
I'd hate to brake it to you but the schools aren't gonna get rid of all of their zero tolerance dumbassery just because a bunch of kids are griping about it on an internet forum. Write letters, make petitions, talk to people with influence, that's how things get done.

One of my friends got a 3-day suspension for posting a video on youtube of this one freshman being an idiot. The freshman saw it, baaaaw'd to his mom, and she went to school security. They got my friend's IP and made him remove it. And yes, zero tolerance is pure BS. But if anyone ever attacks me, I swear, I'm going to do my utmost to get the most pain I can out of them for the 10-day suspension I'll get. Like grabbing their jaw and breaking it, or tearing it off and beating them with it. Or shattering an arm. Or stomping on their femur. (breaking the femur is the most painful thing humanly possible to do) Or grabbing their head and amalgamating it with the wall. (nerdspeak for smashing their face into the wall) Or causing a hyperextension in the knee. Damn, I'm a violent, screwed-up excuse for a human being.
