My Zenit 11 has arrived! Woo! Sorry about the quality, Picasa rapes it when I upload it from my phone instead of transferring to my PC first, and the room I took it in is dark. I love the un-coupled cell light-meter on this thing, don't need any batteries.
So tempted to order my Sigma 30mm 1.4 right now. I have the money. I just hate departing with money.
So tempted to order my Sigma 30mm 1.4 right now. I have the money. I just hate departing with money.
Hah, I'm the same. Been debating whether or not to order a Canon 55-250 and maybe a cheap Yongnuo flash to experiment with for ages now.
Just got this tripod for free today, it's very sturdy. Model is PSV202 by unomat [editline]28th March 2011[/editline] It gets almost 180cm high when fully extended
Get the 50mm f/1.4
I find 50mm too tight on a 1.6 crop sensor.
I don't think I have posted here before, but I haven't had an SLR in a while. ANYWAYS I am purchasing a Canon t2i (550D) in a few days along with a 50mm f1.4 lens, mainly for videos to get a good depth of field. Later down the road I am thinking of getting like an 18-135mm for photos. Right now I am borrowing my fathers old but good Pentax K1000 with it's old 55mm f/2 lens. BUT it still takes AWESOME photos. and it just looks awesome, I mean look at this!
For some reason I think that camera looks amazingly cool. Not too fond of the way the lens looks though, but the camera looks awesome. As if what your camera looks like matters. I'd love a proper film camera, but right now I don't have money for anything at all :<

But I like taking pictures then having them on my computer within minutes, I mean if I had a dark room I could but yeah. Also sadly film SLRs don't take video...
Bought 3 cheap lenses at a flea market today for a total of $20. Sadly, one of them was a konica lens which I now have learned isn't that easy to adapt to an EF mount. The other two have the m42 screw in mount which I will be ordering adapters to this coming monday. I don't care if they are crappy - they were dirt cheap. So I thought, what-the-hell, let's experiment 135mm f/3,5 konica 135mm super weistar-dm f/2,8 35mm super weistar-dm f/2,8
should get nice shots out that 135
Yeah, I suppose, I just haven't found much information about it. I just have to find a couple of adapters. Any recommendations? An AF-confirmation chip is not a necessity.
I bought an M42 adapter without the AF-conf chip and I wish I got one with one, makes quickly focusing without a split viewfinder much easier.
I bought an M42 adapter without the AF-conf chip and I wish I got one with one, makes quickly focusing without a split viewfinder much easier.
Hm true, but the price difference is quite big, at least for the adapters I've seen. Where should one look? And since I mostly will use the lenses with static subjects, I can always use live view with the live crop preview.
Nikon d200 Nikon 50mm 1.8 Af Nikon 28-105 3.5-4.5 Af Nikon 75-300 Af Nikkormat FTN Waiting for the d300s replacement to come out.
don't. get something the next category up or a D700 replacement
I like the crop sensor.

For two hours earlier today, my photography kit consisted of: 7D, Cessna 172, Tokina 11-16mm Photos to come
D5100 aww yeah http://www.engadget.com/2011/04/05/nikon-d5100-and-me-1-external-mic-coming-april-21st-we-go-hands/ We can talk about general camera gear in here right? like new stuff?
yes
I was going to get a d3100 soon, but now I am not sure if I want to spend an extra $200 for a 5100 or not.
I like the build of the 3100 better than the 5100. I appreciate the streamlining, but... :raise:
Fuck, not having my camera makes me go mad. How long does it usually take to fix the AF-motor?
