I bought these two rangefinders at a tag sale today. The one on the left is a Canon Canonet 28 with a 40mm f2.8 lens, and the one on the right is an Original Canon Canonet with a 45mm f1.9 lens.

Here is a quick video I took with my canon t2i today, sorry for the shaky video. My brother was filming... I had to keep schooling him on how to use it which will explain the cuts.
Hi [Name]
Actually we can offer an alternative solution. For direct customers like yourself you have the option of a local service. The process is that you take the lens into a local camera repair shop of your choosing and get a repair diagnosis plus repair quote, please do not pay for this as we will only cover the repair. Upon confirmation of a manufacturing defect or fault please email us the written quotation and we will then be able to cover the cost of the repair.
Just to stress, please do not pay for anything before getting back to us.
If you want it serviced here in HK then you will need to cover the shipping costs initially which we refund once our service centre confirms a manufacturing fault. In any case please advise how you would like to proceed thanks!
If you have any further queries, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Best regards,
Ricky Chan

Cool, I can just get my lens repaired locally for free.
Now, only to find a camera repair store...
This is marvelous news budspoonce!
As for camera repair stores- I don't know if it's similar in Australia as with Iceland, but can't you just take it to a local Photography store and ask them to fix it there?

Can you recommend me some cheap good (or at least better than the Tokina?) FD lenses?
Cheap would be up to 25£ (without shipping) on eBay.
I'd say go for a 50mm 1.8, preferably a new FD mount over an old FD mount. Either way, you'll be getting an AMAZING lens for the price. the 1.8 allows a lot of light and shallow focus, and it's pretty sharp and takes excellent pictures. The 1.4 is quite a bit more, and probably not worth it if you are just messing around with this. I got a 1.8 for $11 with an AE-1 Program, the lenses are seriously dirt cheap.
you only need a quality-reducing optical adapter. get m42 lenses.

I've got a 50mm 1.8, which my teacher let me borrow, but I don't have film right now, so can't really see how it turns out.
To be honest, I'm really happy with my Tokina and Hoya lens, they may not be amazing, but the quality is fucked up because of the scanner anyhow.
can anyone recommend a good mic for the canon 550d, seems like its having some problems with external microphones. example: http://bayzment.blogspot.com/2010/03/canon-eos-550d-rode-videomic-problem.html , now i know its a year old so can anyone confirm that new firmware will solve this? that microhpone was really interesting
if not, can someone recommend a mic that'll work with the 550d and has the same price ($150)
rose videomic

Recently bought a 600D, learning how to use it at the moment.
Recently bought a 600D, learning how to use it at the moment.
should have got a 550D and then a good lens
There's not real difference between 600D and 550D expect the screen, which will come handy for me since I'm short (height), and I got a 18-55 with it.
and the massive price difference
[editline]11th April 2011[/editline]
and the 18-55 is alright, get a 50mm 1.8 as soon as you can though

if there's no real difference then why didn't you save your $$$ ?
plus you will be composing with the viewfinder not the lcd
I have the lowepro slingshot camera bag and I'm pretty sure there are little spare bags you can attatch onto the hooks on the bag but I cant seem to find any anywhere. Does anyone know about this?

I'm sure they aren't bad lenses, but if you ever run across a 1.8 50mm Canon FD, don't hesitate to pick it up, you'll be glad you didn't.

I usually pack the D7000 and FE in my bag with all the nikon lenses when I'm on my own, or pack the 5000 instead if I have an assistant/friend/trainee who needs to take shots. I've had the 50mm practically glued to the 7k, but want to find a 28mm eventually since it's a crop frame and a little cramped.
Wow nice setup!
I can't wait to start my lens collection.

With a setup like that, he could have soda cans and feces laying on the floor and I wouldn't care.

I'm not sure where you live but it roughly costed 150$ more, I'm a from a middle class family and that wasn't much for us.
Either way, haters gonna hate.
that $150 could have bought you a 50mm 1.8
hell to the yeah
How do you find the D7000? most negative things about it for you?
i'd say weight
Weight isn't really an issue, especially with a battery grip so you can get a good hold of the camera.

But the question remains, what did you use to photograph your gear?
