People in my school ask me for advice on what kind of cameras to get. Actually one time I was in Jessop's with friends trying to find a lens-cap for my OM10's 49mm thread (which they didn't have), and some guy I know from school walked in, talked to the sales reps for 5 minutes and then bought a D3100. Next day: Him: Hey Isaac, is the D3100 a good camera? Me: Yeah it's ok, why? Him: I bought one yesterday. Me: Yeah I saw you in Jessops, didn't you read any reviews? Him: Nope. :downs: Me: :sigh: A week later: Me: How come you've not used your camera yet? Him: Oh it's broken, I sent it back to Jessops. Me: What was wrong with it? Him: I dunno.
People buying cameras like fashion accessories. :Dawkins102:
i hate it when that happens "Me: What was wrong with it? Him: I dunno."
Theres also a load of girls in my school who have 1000d's/350d's as fashion accessories and always use it on auto. When they see my pictures they think I took it with some £1k+ camera and are shocked when I tell them I have the same camera as them.
Herp posted a new facebook album Photography: JUST GOT MY NEW CAMERA, I LOVE IT, I WILL NEVER STOP USING IT. Last updated 2009 :V
The worst is when someone makes a photography album filled with out of focus phone cam photos.
75% of photography albums on my wall are "lol cam edited"
Actually I did see a photo album from a girl I know, she took some nice photos but the problem was the camera was her phone I think. So they came out pretty bad. But if she had a better camera some of them would be quite good.
[img_thumb]http://28.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lhpjqhS1Cm1qhtl9zo1_400.jpg[/img_thumb] my experience today (with faces) involving a tragically trend-whorish highschool girl and the same old conversation: them: What camera is that? it looks expensiiiiiive... :aaa: me: Nikon D7000, it- them: PSHHHH me: what? them: you should get a rebel :haw: me: :raise: ...what KIND of rebel? them: I dunno, it's an X-something. It's a canon, though. :smug: me: :sigh: what about the 5D mk II? them: it's not a rebel though me: but it's a canon them: well I haven't heard of it. probably isn't any good me: :crossarms: them: whatever, idiot. she walked away and my friend and I both did this behind her back because we're mature. :mario:
welcome to iceland
Please. Stop. Now. Before this happens to me and I end up short of a shovel the next day :\
"what camera is dat kelvin?" *NIKON MASTERRRRRRRRR RACE!* /everyone bows down as I go about my day. Eh, not had that happen yet, don't get asked about my camera. People just think its really expensive (at least £1000) looking camera because it won't fit in their pockets.
http://www.gf670.co.uk/home.php i think i want medium format rangefinder by fujifilm $2770 goddamn
Most people find it funny but when I hear stories like dai's I just absolutely cringe. It's just wondering why people are so stupid :/
they're just being ignoraaaaant
http://www.gf670.co.uk/home.php i think i want medium format rangefinder by fujifilm $2770 goddamn
one of my friends picked up a "broken" one of these for $300, then got it repaired to full working order for $100 http://camerapedia.wikia.com/wiki/Fujica_GW690
Most people find it funny but when I hear stories like dai's I just absolutely cringe. It's just wondering why people are so stupid :/
canon is pretty good at marketing though. "REBEL" in pointy blood-red letters, and comes with high res 18mp, how can the consumer resist?
i almost smashed some guy the year below me. "hahaha hes getting a 550d, you're the only 1000d in the village" [editline]11th May 2011[/editline] i shouted down a corridor "JUST WAIT UNTIL I GET MY 5D" and got a load of stares [editline]11th May 2011[/editline] but he replied "YEAH, IN LIKE 10 YEARS" [editline]11th May 2011[/editline] :sigh:
Wow, you both care about what camera you have that much?

we're good friends, but he thinks hes a better photographer because he has a 550D and a big lens
It is here came with a snazzy case May shoot with this provided developing the film isn't over priced. If it is then it's going to just be part of my collection.
Rofl What a pleb
we're good friends, but he thinks hes a better photographer because he has a 550D and a big lens
Then explain it's the photographer, not the camera, rather than shouting basically "if I get a 5D it'll automatically make me a better photographer!"
First time me posting here on this thread (lol i'm not that active on this forum at all) I have some things to show here, because my big hobby is photography, and i shoot with both analog and digital. Just showing some stuff i use (pictures were all made by me, this is my flickr account i link them from): Canon EOS IX with EF 24-85 USM lens, other angle by Leevmeister, on Flickr Canon 110ED - 110 Film Camera by Leevmeister, on Flickr Canon 7sZ by Leevmeister, on Flickr Canon F-1 with Winder and Canon EF by Leevmeister, on Flickr Canon T90 with lenses by Leevmeister, on Flickr The camera i most adore is my Canon 7sZ, which is quite rare with only 4000 made, and i use it with a canon 50mm f/1.2 Lens. I also have a Canon 110ED, most probably the best built 110 film camera after the rollei A110/E110, and it has a nice 26mm f/2.0 lens. Too bad they don't sell the 110 cartridge in stores here anymore :( (if anyone knows where to get 110 film for cheap, please tell me!) Thing i like about the 110ED is that it fits in my pocket, and it's quite special, as nobody uses such cams anymore. The first picture is a EOS IX; that's a camera that uses APS film. It's a quite nice looking camera, and really small too, but it still takes EF lenses, so using a 70-200L on it would work (yeah i tested that, because i own a 70-200 f/4L IS :) ) The other camera i use quite a lot is my trusty Canon F-1 original, which makes really nice photo's with the film i use for it ( Fuji Reala 100, Kodak Ektar 100, best colorfilm you can get, period. ) For the FD system i own a Canon F-1 Original with winder, a Canon EF and a Canon T90. Probably the best camera's you can own for the FD system. I really love the lenses for the FD system, especially my FD 85/1.2L, really a dreamlens :D Here's a pic of it (huge front element) : Canon FD 85mm f/1.2 L by Leevmeister, on Flickr A lot of pictures, but it's my first time posting in this thread, so better show what i use :P Pics of my digital/eos gear will be posted later.
You should really start posting more, bro. [editline]11th May 2011[/editline] Don't worry, we won't bite.
FD 85mm 1.2 dude... I'm speechless.
FD 85mm 1.2 dude... I'm speechless.
It's like you ripped those words right outta my mouth.
FD 85mm 1.2 dude... I'm speechless.
You should just see the pictures of the bokeh of this lens, it's really a gorgeous lens with real nice bokeh. I am scanning my pictures at the moment, which takes really long ( i use a Epson V750 Pro to scan them in at 6400DPI, and edit them in Adobe Lightroom). I will post some pictures taken with this lens in the film thread on this forum :-) And i have 18 rolls of films to scan (and it takes like 4 hours to scan 1 roll of film...). Also, please do check out the rest of my pictures on my flickr page, there are some other quite nice pictures on it ;)

[editline]11th May 2011[/editline] Maybe except for the Angenieux 25 - 0.95

[editline]11th May 2011[/editline] Maybe except for the Angenieux 25 - 0.95
Well, the Canon 50 f/0,95 lens is a real nice lens too, also has great bokeh. A friend of mine has it, so i tested it out a couple of times, real huge lens though.. (not mentioning it's price) Although i checked out that Angenieux 25 0.95, it has real busy bokeh from some pictures i see, too bad you can't use it on a eos or any other camera other than M4/3 or NEX though, because it's a C-mount lens :(
