wait he actually went into manual settings for that?
wait he actually went into manual settings for that?
He could have possibly took a shot in auto and copied the settings into manual mode :ninja:
all the settings and info make no sense to manual control. Maybe it just says manual because it was in P mode or something
and hes using a lens from 1987.
Is it wrong that I just got my drivers license and instead of saving up for a car, I just keep saving up for photography equipment? :v: I don't think i'll have a car in the next 3 years if I keep this up. But honestly I prefer having an awesome camera and taking photos than being able to drive.
Anyways, right now I've just got:
-Canon EOS 400D
-Two kit lenses
-Sigma 50mm 1.4
-Rusty old tripod
-Ugly camera bag
Saving up for a 60D. After that i'll probably save up for a new bag and then maybe an external flash.
take the questions/suggestions to 'which camera is for me' thread, this is more an "I have this" thread, no?
I was posting in this thread because I already know which camera I'm getting, and since this was the gear discussion thread I figured it would be the correct thread to talk about what Accessories/lenses that I should get being a beginner and all. I guess I'll start using the other thread though if I'm really in the wrong one.
i made a list of stuff that you can get with your 60D, although I'd ditch the 55-250 and for acsessories.
Could you please pm me or post up this list.
Hey camera gear thread. I am wondering if you can help me out. I'm going to buy a Canon 60d bundled with a kit but I don't know which one to get. My budget is $1,800 USD. Basically in the kit I want 1-2 lenses, I would like both of these images to be IS, I would like one to be an 18-135mm or an 18-55mm Canon lens. A Canon 60d. A 16-32 GB high speed card. A flash if possible. A spare battery. A camera bag to hold the equipment. UV filters if possible. A Lens cleaning kit.
I'm just asking for some help(and hopefully in the right thread), if you guys could help that would be awesome.
Holy fuck, you're living my dream.
Over how long? I've put about £700 into gear so far since October. Will put pics up when I get my flashgun and bag.
Uhh, since 2006 I guess. The mark II and 24-70mm alone are worth £2600

i've not put anything towards a car
it all goes into guitar shit
riding a bike in search of good photographs feels MUCH more inspiring than driving a car around town. There's less distraction, less obstruction by the vehicle, more places you can squeeze into, and pulling over to get a shot doesn't require a whole road shoulder or parking spaces.

The 60D is lovely, but wouldn't it make more sense to go FF from a 400D?
FF is not an 'upgrade' so to speak, it's more of a characteristic.
He might want a 7D.
once i can afford it, im getting 5D III to replace my 1000D
I'd improve my skills before I started even thinking about making purchases like that.
