One of my neighbors is a realtor and he wants me to take photos of houses(Inside and Out) so he can post them on the internet for online viewing and borchures. He wants me to because he doesn't like paying 90$ to a random guy(He's a fat ass that overcharges for work that I'm sure that he uses a cell phone or a point and shoot) So he's going to paying me 40$ a house. He said only one or two houses a month but I'm fine with that.
Really nice pictures and hopefully the information presented so far has been applicable. You might also want to consider the more information. That's how things stand right now. Keep in mind that any subject can change over time, so be sure you keep up with the latest news.

it's a start, and I more than know the house shooting market is hilariously bad where I am, but that's because the realtors go around themselves with point and clicks and use the flash, which makes everything look like it's out of a horror movie. They don't really like the idea of paying extra for someone else to come and take pictures when they can do what they do, but I don't think most realize the difference in quality, nor the difference the quality makes in making a sale.
I have like, nothing. I'm more of a casual picture taker when I feel like it (don't hurt me)
Nikon D40
18-55mm kit lens
Quantaray 70-300mm lens
Wireless Nikon remote
I tried to get into photography but it turned out being a little too expensive for me, so after the Quantaray purchase, I found myself a little more turned off until I have the funds to support the hobby/possible career :v:
little video question here; i own a canon 550d and i'm looking for a microphone.
appearently the rode videomic creates noise with the 550d, but some people are happy with it. most people recommend an external mic like h2 or h4, but how much work is it to sync it in post production?

You can get rid of the noise by installing MagicLantern and turning off the AGC. (Automatic gain control. When things get quiet it pumps up the gain introducing loads of noise)
For external syncing I guess you'd use a distinctive sound like a clap and match up both audio sources. (Camera and external)
I doubt I will be using my DSLR for a while...

Also with one of these lightweight 6x6 TLR's on the way:

I figure I'll post my gear
Canon Rebel T3
Canon IS 18-55mm Lens
Canon IS 55-250mm Lens
Polaroid Tulip Clip on Lens Hood
Quantaray 10x Macro Filter
Quantaray 58mm UV Filter
16gb 20mb/s SD Card
4gb SD Card
2x 2gb Mini SD Card
A LowePRO Camera Bag (Very Awesome for carrying two Lenses and a Body/Other bits of gear)
Dolica 62.2" Tripod
And soon an Canon 430ex II Flash
I also have an assortment of Film SLR Cameras that still work except for one that needs slight repairs, me and my mum want to do some film photography and make our own darkroom if we get the chance.

magiclantern will void the warranty right?
magiclantern will void the warranty right?
it's on a memory card so how will they know?
magiclantern will void the warranty right?
Well, yes and no. The only thing it does to the camera is semi-permanent change that allows to boot the custom firmware from SD. You basically can't tell difference for camera with bootflag installed and without it, and can remove it later. Magic Lantern firmware will boot only when it's on SD and SD is formatted with bootflag. If you want to be 100% with warranty, you better don't do it. But I doubt that anyone will look for ML if you return the camera someday.
does ML allow you to select iso50 on the 550D?
Well well, look what came in the post today.

what's with the double lens thing on the middle one?
what's with the double lens thing on the middle one?
That's a Twin Lens Reflex camera
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twin-lens_reflex_camera
It's tiny for a TLR though, weighs less than my Zenit and not much larger. If you include the extended size of the lens on my 1000d, it is more compact.
I mind as well cross-post this from the film thread, it seems more people look at this one. This is my TLR, we figured out that it's about twice the size of B-Hazards one.

Nope.but allows fine-tuning from 100 up to 25600 (step of 10 till 1000, then 100 I think)

Yep. Plus the fact that ML is generally awesome!
Damn I want a TLR now.
I have a question. where is the best place to buy equipment for DSLRs? I'm looking for a view finder for the screen of my Nikon d3100 so I can shoot movies, but its proving hard to find.

Calumet Photo and Adorama are pretty reliable. I see lots of 'cheap' focusing screens from third party companies on .ru websites. Don't trust them, you get what you pay for
in this case, you may just not get it :v:
I think he means an LCD Loupe (pronounced "Loop" according to Google?) rather than a focus screen.
Here's a search on Amazon for you, labbet: http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Delectronics&field-keywords=3%22+lcd+loupe&x=0&y=0
Any of those that say they are designed for a 3" screen with a 4:3 aspect ratio should fit the D3100. If you want to check elsewhere, a search for "LCD Loupe" should do it.
why on earth did I read focusing screen. :v:
there's a way you can make a screen loupe for dirt cheap, check diyphotography.net, the guy made it out of a magnifying glass, a baby powder bottle and some hair ties.
McGuyver all up in this
updated my gallery of my more proud classic cameras

Would it be safe to clean a sensor with isopropyl alcohol?
And what are some other methods that some of you use personally for cleaning your sensors?
Would it be safe to clean a sensor with isopropyl alcohol?

Honestly, I'd just have it professionally cleaned because I don't want to risk myself breaking anything. If you insist on doing it yourself though give this a read.
Yes, I know it is a guy thing where we read the instructions after we start having problems, but from one guy to another, you really need to read all of this FIRST
Yeah, I have bad experiences with cleaning the inside of a camera. Mr. Mow, I highly recommend doing absolutely as much research as possible before doing anything at all, and even then, be ridiculously careful and make sure you have the right tools, don't cut corners. Also, if you have a modern DSLR, a lot of them have self-cleaning sensors - if you're noticing stuff on your images, check and make sure the self-cleaning isn't disabled for some reason.

So my Dad and I were in Houston visiting different Hooters' and at one of them I saw a sign for a camera shop. So needless to say I went in and checked out the place. This was probably the best and smallest camera store that I've been in. I started talking to Woody(He got into photography as a little boy and now owns this shop) about lenses and stuff and he brought out a Canon EF-S Wide-angle zoom lens - 10 mm - 22 mm - F/3.5-4.5 USM for me to look at. I liked the lens but I'm currently out of cash so their's no way that I could afford it. My dad walks into the store because he finished whatever he was doing and asks Woody what I've been looking at. Woody wips out the lens and lets my dad look through a viewfinder and my Dad after looking at it for five seconds, said "Alright we'll take it". Surprised the shit out of me. He just dropped like $870 for the filter and the lens on the spot. I was as giddy as a schoolgirl. Anyway this is the story on how I now own a Canon 10-22mm F/3.5-4.5 USM. Sorry for dropping a paragraph in the thread.
I would get rid of that crappy filter, and then get yourself a Slim B+W filter. Or a Kenko / Hoya one. You're most likely going to vignette with that filter, and most likely degrade the picture quality.

+1 for Calumet photo. I would also like to add B&H photo as a another shop you could consider. I bought alot of the small stuff ( filters, tripods etc ) at my local Calumet back when they had like the 500$ 100$ off deals. And for B&H photo, after you've done your research, always call them up. They saved me nearly 1000$ with my gear.
Now to list my gear:
Canon 5D mark II ( walk around camera now )
Canon 7D with Battery Grip ( lost the battery cover :( )
Primes: Sigma 50 1.4, Canon 85 1.8 ( super sharp at 2.8 ), and then Canon 100 f/2.8 L IS Macro
Wide-angle: Canon 16-35 f/2.8 L II ( my walk around lens for the summer )
Zooms: Canon 24-105 f/4 L IS, Canon 28-135 f/3.5-5.6 ( retired, and my first lens ), Canon 70-200 f/4 L IS
Two 580 EX II's, and a few extra batteries.

The filter doesn't give me any vignetting and any filter will give you a little bit of image degradation no matter how much you pay for it Richie Rich. I'm happy with what I have and I don't need anything more.
