See people in public with the 7D, 50D, or 5D MKII and get massive jelly. If I get this Federal Job I've been on the hunt for I'm going to definitely turn this into a side-career and I want to see about starting a studio. I really love photography, and I've been reading, experimenting, and trying everything I can to improve my abilities.
Picked up a Canon AE-1 Program the other day, gotta say it's a pretty sick camera.
My dad has a few old olympus lenses and a body he never uses. I don't think I'm ready to try film yet but would it be worth the investment to get myself an adapter? I'll tell you what the lenses are tomorrow.
The old lens I ripped apart the other week is surprisingly useful if you stick it backwards on the front of my 50mm. Its slide-out lens hood fits right over the end of the lens, lets me focus, and the whole thing acts as a supermacro with crazy radial blur
@f 1.8 with just the main body of the lens
[t]http://gyazo.com/fced7ccabc8cd8ebddd86beaf9193522.png[/t]
@f 1.8, with an extra lens bit stuck on to allow focusing from farther back
[t]http://gyazo.com/bf755f3460ff210c333a123e5a078a61.png[/t]
@f 5.6, extra bit so I could focus from a little farther back, and get a slightly longer DOF
[t]http://gyazo.com/50b944c97f1010bff3713e41594eed8b.png[/t]
even at small apertures it's got an insanely tight DOF, though obviously the vignette is in yo face
yeah reverse lenses give you some insane macro. I have some old (90's era) minolta 35-85mm lens that I can mount to my camera with this ring i bought (49mm to e mount) and i can do crazy macro shit
it's only half of a reversed lens, heh.

specifically the front element, at top/right.
Talkin' with a guy from craigslist about getting this, he lives just a few towns over.
Nikon Fe with Hanemex wide angle lense, telephoto lense, 2 Nikkor 50 mm lenses, case, flash attachment - 100.00 for the lot
I've needed proper full-frame lenses for my current FE (since I've only had the 50mm my mom left on it, back when she was in highschool/college the neighbor kids broke into her house and stole a bunch of stuff, her lenses/filters/accessories included), but this is a pretty good deal given it also comes with the black body which seems to sell for around $90, unless you find a good item but then you end up in bidding wars with five people and the price goes up to that anyways.
I've already got 2 50mm's, there anyone here who'd like to snip these manual 50's from me for a couple bucks? the one that's on the camera in the picture is the 1.8 pictured below (can tell from the double-blade around 5.6 on the aperture ring), I'm not sure what the other 50 is since it has a cap and a rubber hood on it.

don't jump on the studio unless you already earn enough with your business to pay for the bills. Thankfully both of my businesses run out of my studio, so if business on one side goes down at times I still have the other.

-Canon AE-1 Program w/ 52mm lens.
-2x Tele Converter.
-52mm Macro Lens I think it's called?
-Albinar 100MDT-Twin Flash.
Got this a few days ago as a hand me down. As I stated earlier, this camera is pretty damn sick.
It's great if you have the manual adapter.
yeah, I do luckily enough, Some more lenses would be nice...
oh man you could fetch a good amount for those nikkor lenses dai. they go for around $80 starting on ebay. the ones pictured have the double rubber ring right?
those lenses are sharp as fuck.
I saw these 2 people at the air show and I got jealous:

Specifically why I don't plan to go to an airshow. Jelly errywhere.
Hah, my dads friend does airshow photography, and he has that kind of setup too. Crazy.
My town has a pretty popular airshow every year which I've never actually been to but now that I have a camera I probably will
I was meant to go to the Eastbourne airshow this weekend, but the weather sucked.
My mom just found this in a box and gave it to me :buddy:

It uses floppy discs lol
I know this is more on the software side, but what do you guys use for noise removal?
I can manage to get this (note that this is zoomed in really far, in the overall image the blurriness isn't noticeable):

Oh god is that ISO 12,800?
looks like my iso 3200
or even 1600
Oh I see, Samsung WB2000. You could try out a trial of Lightroom 3, it's denoise capabilities are pretty good. I heard Topaz DeNoise is also good.
I've seen lots of talk about Noiseware.
I was looking at getting into lomography, and I wasn't really sure what camera to get. I have pretty much no prior experience with photography.
I did a bit of reading and shit and I'm leaning towards either a Holga 120CFN or one from the Holgawood collection.

Isn't that like, mega hipster?

Neither of those run on my system, so I'll keep using the tools I use.

A lot of hipsters do it, yeah. :v:
I just wanna try it.

Don't get a Holga, they are horrible to use.
Yeah I was looking at some holga stuff and it seems so... gimmicky
Then a Diana?
No. Just get something that isn't considered as a 'lomo' camera.
Get a good SLR or TLR and overexpose or cross process the film to get that 'lomo look'.
A holga is only shit if used that way, if you tape it up, get the glass lens version, etc, etc then you should be able to pull out some nice (albeit soft) photos thanks to the superfuckingawesome 6x6

Square format = [thumb]http://www.techdigest.tv/orgasm-face.jpg[/thumb]
I like a tiny bit of light leakage in photos though. But not an excessive amount.
I don't like how lomo stuff is way overpriced though. I think I'll just go hunting for a dollar store toy camera or something and go from there.
