YAY! I finally bought myself a backpack for my camera, I am not really fond of backpack style camera bags because it takes a lot longer to get to your gear but I wanted something that could hold a bit of paperwork so I can bring it to school. I only spent $40 on it so I can't complain it is made very well, it's the Canon 200EG. Now to fill it up with expensive L lenses and flashes... I wish.
I'm sort of just starting out with this, but I have an old, scratched-up Olympus FE-310. It's not bad for its size and portability - 8 megapixel and 5x optical zoom. Images save at a resolution of over 3500x3500, and if scaled down they actually look great. If I end up enjoying photography, I'll buy a better one. But as a broke student, this thing works well enough.
Yeah it seems it is always best to start off cheap no matter the hobby. I know when I started playing guitar I didn't start off with a $1,500 Gibson and a Hughes and Kettner, you also have to be into it for the right reason, not to look cool or fit in with the crowd but to have a passion for it. See son, it's like this. When I was your ag.... Damn me and me wisdom speeches...
I'm trying to find a rucksack-cum-camera bag myself, it's pretty annoying.
Guys what would you do if your 1000D body started to rattle for no apparent reason? :(
I received word that one manufacturer will surprise everyone with a big megapixel camera next Thursday, August 25, 2011. The report is very vague, but comes from a bang on source. I’d almost [CR3] this.
canonrumors
D4 D400 or 5D III please
^Not like anyone here will be able to afford one :v: Just got my LensPen, Rosco gel filters, and lens hood in the mail. LensPen seems to clean the lens pretty well, except I used it on my cheap SunPak UV filter, and the circular motion I used caused an inner plastic ring to ride up inside it so that the glass is now even looser, and you can't fit the lens cap on anymore. I was looking for a good reason to replace that cheap piece of junk anyway. Gel filters are gel filters, though a little big for the SB-400. Still working on a non-ghetto solution to hold them. Lens hood is a cheap chinese off-brand product, a little awkward and stiff getting it on and off the lens, but it does its job. Still waiting on the TTL cord.
I'm trying to find a rucksack-cum-camera bag myself, it's pretty annoying.
the kata 3n1 is quite nice, easy to access and the biggest version holds loads of stuff backpacks/slingpacks look kind of lame though i have been thinking about getting either a billingham or crumpler recently but they are quite expensive
I have a 1923 Leica, Russian Make. But I cant post the pic :(
it's a copy
I just got a big shelving unit for my office, so logically I put all of my camera stuff on it. seeing everything in one spot makes me feel dirty and my wallet dry heave
^Not like anyone here will be able to afford one :v:
But that means older gen stuff will be cheaper!
Biscuit wants an EF (*Not EFS*) 70-200mm f/4L USM, non IS. Is this a good idea?
Biscuit wants an EFS 70-200mm f/4L USM, non IS. Is this a good idea?
EFS 70-200mm? I don't think that exists :v:
EFS 70-200mm? I don't think that exists :v:
Oh shit sorry, scratch that extra S. Not sure if 3am typo or just retarded :[
Oh shit sorry, scratch that extra S. Not sure if 3am typo or just retarded :[
Could of been both. Temporary stupidity due the sleep deprivation. I know I have been there. It's around those times that I look through the viewfinder on my camera and wonder why I only see black. As far as the lens I would say it could be useful but without IS at 200mm you would have to shoot at a fast shutter speed or have it on a tripod. I would prefer a telephoto lens to have IS.
Haha, 9/10 times I'll leave mine on as well. It's a shame someone usually ends up pointing it out before I can save myself from the embarrassment. Also, it's a budget issue mostly, I'd prefer an EF 70-300 f/4-5.6L IS but since I can't afford it I'm going with the cheapest L series lens I can. Also it'd be mainly outdoors daylight shooting so I'm sure pulling around 1/200th or better shouldn't be much of an issue, and occasionally necessitating a tripod is an acceptable compromise for something that's only $600 but still produces awesome pictures. Oh also. Fuck these guys, I want all of that stuff :( And I can't even begin to imagine how much one of these would cost to buy and maintain but I still want it. It looks like a fucking plasma cannon.

prolly a thomson/grass valley camera with canon lens and GV monitor.
So my father was having a garage sale and whilst he was going through some boxes he hasn't gone through for years and we ran across something I found interesting. He told me I could have it. I want to test it out.
good luck lol film is fucking expensive for those http://shop.ebay.com/i.html?_nkw=polaroid+600+film&_frs=1&_trksid=p3286.c0.m359
This film can be used, everyone who uses this camera in the present day uses it. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/18595-USA/Fujifilm_15435626_FP_100C_Professional_Instant_Color.html I need one of those and a new battery to get it going, it had a little bit of surface rust on a couple parts but I cleaned that all out. It is so weird to have an old camera like this and see the convenience of the old days compared to when I was born.
This is my camera. All i need
This is my camera. All i need
But does it bounce?
Hmm.
But does it bounce?
No, none of my photos has been 'bounced' I find it to be a surprisingly good camera
Not an immensely popular camera, has some pretty gimmicky features such as slow motion video, I find the colours are a little washed out (fixed in post), but those are outweighed by that it's a point and shoot, it gives me manual control over the aperture and shutter speed and it allows me to shoot in RAW. I'm also not sure if it's a bug or something, but setting the image size (7 megapixels at 16:9) resolution doesn't crop the RAWs, so it helps me composite.
