Thought I'd look for Me Super's on ebay, came across these: Decreasing quality Same low low price! Personally I think he just got one, couldn't sell it, and slowly took out more and more frustration on it.
So my father was having a garage sale and whilst he was going through some boxes he hasn't gone through for years and we ran across something I found interesting. He told me I could have it. I want to test it out.
my mom got one of those at the thrift store. It works, but you really have to struggle to get the photos out. [editline]23rd August 2011[/editline] Also, does anyone have a recommendation on a wireless flash remote? I have a Nikon d3100 and a Sunpak auto 433 D flash, if that helps. I just need a recommendation from a person with experience in that field.

Something I found whilst clearing out some clutter. An old Chinon that was my dad's. Unfortunately the electronics or something seems to be busted. The shutter release doesn't always work and the mirror movement seems to be really slow. Shame...
what a shame
Sounds more like some crap built up in the camera, perhaps try and clean it with something alcohol based?
This just came in the mail: [t]http://img228.imageshack.us/img228/3536/dsc1345x.jpg[/t] Going to cut it up so I can extend it with a cat5e cable as soon as I know it works! Gonna have to start reading up on strobist.com now, heh.
Sounds more like some crap built up in the camera, perhaps try and clean it with something alcohol based?
yeah, possibly. Even though I thought the batteries were new, replacing them seems to have fixed most problems. (It doesn't have a battery indicator :v: ) But the remaining problem is that there's a delay between the mirror snapping up and the shutter curtain opening, like a massive delay. If the shutter speed is less than 4 seconds it wont open before the 4 seconds are up and the mirror drops down again. On 8 seconds, the shutter curtain will open about half way through the exposure, yet it will consistently open with each exposure and it seems to be roughly the same length into the exposure that it happens each time, so it might still be some gunk stiffening the mechanism but because of the regularity of the shutter curtain opening, I'm not too sure. I'd take the thing apart to have a look if I wasn't so incredibly useless at putting things back together again.
Welcome to the club  Did you get any other lenses with it?
Nope, just the 50mm. Haven't tested it out yet.
Alright guys, time to get washed and stuff and then go buy the 550D. Fuck YES! Edit: Back! Also I think my dad just went mad. He called me while I was shopping and asked me to look for a canon speedlight flash he had seen on amazon with Guide No. 190 -Feet - so I went into the shop and asked. Turns out he meant the Speedlight 580EXII. Told him it was damn expensive and you know what he said ? "I don't care, just buy it." And people say I can't handle money... seems like it runs in the family. Anyways, kind of cool but I don't see myself using the flash often, although I think this opens up a huge door into a world of professional photography, which is awesome. Also bought lens hoods but they seem kind of cheap, expecially the one for my 50mm, it feels very cheap and like it would break any second now.
I hope you weren't paying for that flash.
Nope, it's my dad's so of course he paid for it. Still, I get to use it whenever I want seeing as I take most of the photos for him. :) edit: I could never afford that flash (wouldn't buy it myself either).
oh man they are releasing a 50mm f1.8 lens for my e mount, but it has image stabilization. I'd absolutely love to have a 50mm for my kit with autofocusing and image stabilization, i could get steady pictures with less light AND smoother video. now i need to save up $300
Haha, 9/10 times I'll leave mine on as well. It's a shame someone usually ends up pointing it out before I can save myself from the embarrassment. Also, it's a budget issue mostly, I'd prefer an EF 70-300 f/4-5.6L IS but since I can't afford it I'm going with the cheapest L series lens I can. Also it'd be mainly outdoors daylight shooting so I'm sure pulling around 1/200th or better shouldn't be much of an issue, and occasionally necessitating a tripod is an acceptable compromise for something that's only $600 but still produces awesome pictures. Oh also. Fuck these guys, I want all of that stuff :( And I can't even begin to imagine how much one of these would cost to buy and maintain but I still want it.
What game was that? I may have been there.

They're about a quarter of a million though, with cheap ones at 6 figures. Semi-portable lenses can do stuff like that too, angenieux and fujinon make crazy lenses that can do things like 8-1500mm.
Video lenses look cool It's a portable lens though
Codenamecueball, you can't be a good photographer until you have a quarter million box lens.
better get saving

So I bought my first camera, Canon EOS 600D. Does it make any difference if you load the battery overnight or until it just shows green? Retailer told to let it load until tomorrow, but I'm very eager to test it out :)

Just found this little gem on my father's attic. Excuse the quality, made them with my phone:
saw this and thought fuck it why not, they also had a interesting looking ilford 35mm i will probably go back and get next week [t]http://i.imgur.com/MWVH6.jpg[/t] loling at the argus manual though it shows a woman casually opening the back but it actually requires a lot of force to get the catch to release
First day I got my camera(Back in feb);
Has anyone of you guys ever used a Eye-Fi card? It seems pretty cool coupled with a Jailbroken iPad.. It's on amazon for 60€ right now.
