apparently I can still get 4x5 polaroids to go with this, but the only issue is that the trigger just seems to 'clank' instead of trigger anything. I'll have to dig around inside, but if I can get this beast to work, OHHH HOHOHO
I was offered Canon FD 800mm SSC (The best kind before L lens existed, looks similar to the white bazooka frag4life posted) for $1500 along with this adapter. Do you guys think it's a good idea to buy it or for reselling?
The 800mm SSC is a great lens and better than my 600mm 4.5 in terms of purple fringing.
1500 usd is a great deal for such a lens, and if i would have found such a lens instead of the 600 i have now i would've bought a 800mm for sure. They pop up very rarely at a reasonable price though.
And do keep in mind that the SSC version is even more bulky than the newFD versions, so expect it to weigh about 6 kilograms with suitcase (or even more lol).
The one for 4700 usd on ebay is way too high for one. I think they go for around 2000 euro without the edmika adapter, for a while there was a 800L on UK ebay for about 2000 euro, and it never sold after being reposted numerous times.

depends how wide you want though... 28mm =~ 18mm on crop
yeah 28mm would be good, gonna use it on my canon with an adapter as well, the bokeh the 50mm makes is lovely.

god damn Australia
That's an american listing
i noticed after i changed the URL to .co.uk
hmm, ill wait till i have money, but the 28mm 2.8 seems good. i'll keep my eye open in some charity shops

just remember that it'll have similar bokeh to any other 28mm 2.8 lens, aka way less than a 50mm 1.8 (or 1.7)
yeah i know, but it will give a good perspective and aperture for shooting video with
Went to the local Bic Camera store. Which is one of the only few camera stores that still serve for film users.
I cringed at the price of the films, a Fujifilm Superia 400 costs about $20 for 3 rolls. While a Kodak Portra 160 costs $120 for 5 rolls.
I'm going to visit yodobashi tomorrow, and maybe get some old school kodachrome. Its impossible to process those nowadays since there are only 2 kodachrome k-14 processing labs left in this world. But it would be cool to show my grandkids going "I remember when we used to load films in our cameras"

AFAIK the last kodakchrome labs closed down start of the year... Also just buy film from the internet, retail is basically dead for film. bhphoto.com and freestylephoto.biz are both good, and ship internationally.
Hey all. I'm thinking of getting a flashgun for my little Lumix G10. I have a few questions as I'm a newbie when it comes to flash's. I mostly want to use flash as a slave, so I was looking at compatible flashguns by Metz and Polaroid - now, do I have to buy a mid-range flash that explicitly states it has a slave function, or will any flash work if I use one of these?:

new old shelves and most of my cameras, courtesy of my wonderful phone's terrible video taking

the only thing that isn't mine is the stuff on the first shelf (top left), which is technically a friend's that I'm fixing, but she's considering just giving them to me since she doesn't shoot anymore anyways.
>top mid shelf is a few nikon lenses, my Ricoh Diacord, a light meter I found recently and the new megaphone thinger
>top right is my Kodak 2-A, instant film polaroid land camera, and my grandpa's optronic super 8
>mid-right is pentax collection, featuring my first digi SLR the pentax ist*DL and my dad's 'Sears' KS Super (black one in middle), which took some of the pictures that originally inspired me to get into photo as a kid
>mid is 2 Nikon FE's (black and silver, I use silver for my current film work), the new N2000 (between FE's), my D7000, a couple more 50 1.8's for good measure, a 55-200, and my micro flash softbox
>mid-left is the Clarus I recently got, which has no good way of being displayed other than on its back because of those dumb fold-out cases. Door hinge is broken so I can't take it out of that without potentially ruining the film I put in it.
>lower-left, everybody's favorite nat geo
>lower-mid, film stock, random lens filters, some cleaning junk
>lower-right, case for my mamiya/sekor 528tl (sister's using it for her film right now), Brownie Starflex, my first camera ever (cheap 90's point and shoot that even camerapedia doesn't remember), a crazy concept canon that's designed like a camcorder, and a polaroid one-step
>bottomish from right to left, half a lens I use for macro, a gorillapod tripod thinger I found for cheap to use for holding up a flash or some shit in a bind, 3 old flashes and my SB-600 along with my cowboy studio flash trigger/recievers, and my mom's old leather case for the silver Nikon FE.
>Random boxes of camera junk strewn about, and some misc cam straps are all over.
I've repaired and restored everything to working order, except the silver pentax at the far right, the N2000 (in progress) and the black FE (power short issue, working on it soon). The rightmost flash requires you to hold a paperclip to the top for 20 seconds to charge up a single pop, but fixing that up with some wire and tape I'll call "working order" anyways.
my sister has my D5000 and the 18-55 kit (kinda gifted it to her), there's a 28mm lens missing from the pentax stuff at the mid-right, and I've got a canon rebel xt that isn't on the shelves but ~lol canon~. My dad just keeps that on him for stuff so it's upstairs on his desk all the time
I should actually use that to shoot everything when I get it all properly organized and lined up, heh
god damn that's a lot of stuff. my collection now seems inferior ;( i have 2 ae-1P's, and like 10 lenses for them. and a minolta maxxum with a 35-80mm lens but that doesn't do me any good. was $3 though lol
I'm at like 6 50mm 1.8's because I keep finding them cheap. 5 are seen up there, 6th my girlfriend has :v:
anybody want a 50?
dude 50's are the best i'd want one if i shot nikon
