If you are more focused on video then yeah a fluid head is better for them precise camera movements.
Fluid head is better, i myself have a 701RC2 and it's so smooth.
Can't wait to get my 50mm 1.4 in tomorrow! Does anyone have example pictures with that type of lens on a 550d? :)

Older Rebel XSi with 50 1.4 - you will get the same 'look' in terms of DOF and field of view.

Got my 50mm 1.4 in today, it's an FD lens and has a little converter so no stabilization or autofocus (not a bad thing) so now I really need a tripod and to learn to pull focus better.
Can't wait to go out and take some pictures why my bud.
There are no 50mm prime lenses with stabilisation anyway.
Ah okay. It's really fucking nice. Looking down the lens it's awesome to see how bloody wide the aperture gets. Manually focusing is weird and it's sometimes a little hazy but after playing around with settings I can get rid of it quite easily.
[editline]19th December 2011[/editline]
Also I can physically control the aperture with a ring on the FD->EF converter.
Okay I'm confused now. I'm looking to buy some polarizing filters so from this list which of them would be applicable with a EF 18-55mm and a FD 50mm:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/Lenses-Filters-/78997/i.html?_catref=1&_ipg=&_ssn=aroundthecamera&_trksid=p3911.c0.m1538
The reason I ask to pick from this list is because I'm ordering a few other things from there so if I can get it all in one package that'd be great.
If memory serves me right, the FD 50mm f/1.4 has a 52mm filter thread, and the EF-S 18-55mm has a 58mm one. So you could either buy two filters if you want to keep them on your lens all the time or get the 58mm one plus a step up ring and switch between them.

Whoever rated disagree, need an example since I really cant find 50mm primes with VR/IS

only 50mm prime yet to have image stabilization, and it has OSS which is good for up to 4 full stops.
It was pretty nice waking up this morning to seeing this on my desk for me. The only downside is it doesn't seem to have the little stand that's supposed to be included, but not a big deal.

Hey guys, just a quick question. What's a good flash trigger for the T2i? I asked this a while ago but didn't investigate much into options. I do remember someone mentioning Yongnuo's triggers though, and if that is a good choice, what model fits the T2i and what's a reliable source to get one from?
Hope I was clear enough. :) Thanks a lot if you can help out.

Yongnuo is infact the way to go, short of pocket wizards. They are reversible, as you can use them to trigger the camera, or use them to have the camera trigger the flash. I have 3 pairs of triggers/receivers. You can daisy chain them which is nice - I can remotely fire my camera which can remotely fire the flash.
I get them off amazon, this is the exact model you'd want.

Why not the Yongnuo RF-603? Then you don't need to buy special batteries.

Hero 2 has a larger chip than the Contour, it performs a lot better than the contour for most things, especially biking.
Only real advantage of the contour is that it's easier to use.
which contour are you comparing to? i was think of the + model
Been working on this bad body the last 2 days, it still needs the mattebox/follow focus/external monitor/audio equipment:

Ill make you more jelly next week, ill show some picture of the finished result with the sony EX3 and all the other stuff that still needs to be attached.
Here are my two lenses

That is a Canon 24-105 L, despite not having the red ring. Got it used, didn't have a red ring. No idea what could have possibly happened to it :v:
Works like a charm though.
I trust that you know what the second lens is.
I mount these two on an over glorified rear lens cap. I mean, a Canon 450D. Which I've never really been able to get an adequate photo of with my compact, a Fuji F300EXR. So no picture of that.
I've also got a 270EX flash, and a 17-85 that I don't really use anymore. Speaking of which, are we allowed to sell our gear here?

I came here from the TF2 Forum. Glad to see nothing is different :v:
But seriously, I was thinking something like $300 for the lens, $50 for the polarizer (it's a B+W 67mm) . Is that reasonable?
