Back again, with NEW content.
I've revamped my channel! And I've listened to your feedback, and hopefully, the new videos are more amusing to watch.
If you're watching this post, go to the top!
And if I can recommend a video for your viewing pleasure, watch the Soccer Physics (MLG Football) one. <3
And the reason why I'm coming back here, is because some of you guys have given me the best feedback. It might not be the "correct" audience, but I like you guys.
You're trying way too hard to be like everyone else. Youre even doing that annoying face-in-the-thumbnail stuff which is pretty obnoxious
Putting your face in the thumbnail isn't obnoxious, it's more engaging and has been proven.

I think it depends on the audience, so it really depends on personal preference.
I know facepunch really isn't the right place to ask for feedback on these videos, but that's exactly why I'm coming back here.

The way I see it Facepunch is one of the best ways to go for criticism, because everyone's standards are so high here (not that that's a bad thing). And seeing as you've been here since at least 2006 and you're probably aware of that, I'd even call it brave, haha.

Oh believe me :P
I've seen the good, and bad about Facepunch.
I never lurked in all the threads, but I was quite demoted back in the day at making Gmod screenshots.
One of the ones that delivered quite high standards until Vman came along.
Then I started lurking in the 3D art thread (which I still am).
Then I started doing youtube videos, and I've been wanting to improve ever since.
Your commentary really needs work. "Hahahaha rekt rape poo poo wee wee!!" while making funny noises and pulling faces is exactly what everyone else is doing, so you're not going to stand out from the crowd at all.
I'm not a let's player anymore, but I always found that recording yourself playing a game without commentary, then seriously thinking about commentary and the jokes you can put in afterwards helps a LOT. Eventually, you just start making decent commentary on the spur of the moment.
This is more of a personal gripe, but I reckon you should get rid of the facecam and let people see the whole game. I will say that I like the way you've set up the facecam, though. Much better than taking up half the fucking screen like so many others have.

Good feedback there buddy! Greatly appreciated. Maybe your recording tip might do me good. I might actually try doing that for a couple of games.
Then again, everything I record is for the sake of a first impression, but there might be some games I think I'd like to try such an experiment.
My commentary really depends on the type of game I'm playing, however with the new style of editing I at least judge my commentary thoroughly afterwards, so I get better practice at figuring out what I should've said. AND! I edit out the boring bits, which I didn't use to do before.
I've only been doing English videos for a couple of months, and I would say I'm better at doing commentary in my native language, which I've been doing for some time, on my Norwegian channel with 14200 subscribers.
And I get a lot of positive and good feedback from my followers on Norwegian at least.
But yeah, my commentary will improve as I continue my journey into this huge and difficult area of entertainment, and I feel it most certainly have already. Maybe not a lot, but I've gotten better to keep the flow of speech through doing long recording sessions.
When I started doing Let's plays, I always aimed for doing videos I would want to enjoy. So even though I don't really bring anything new to the table (which I know I don't really do), at least I know that there might be people out there who does enjoy it somewhat.
The new type of editing I'm working on is at least bringing something more entertaining then long tedious games.
When it comes to facecam, I've always made sure it doesn't really grab too much of the attention, but yes, I do like pulling faces because I am aware that it might create some awkward or funny moments.
I've experimented a lot with different kind of setup ups, and found that the way I do it right now without having a green screen, works for most cases. And I also like watching videos that has facecam, so it all comes back to what kind of content I enjoy watching myself.
Thank you for the feedback tho, much appreciated! :D <3
