What does Facepunch think about getting a motor scooter for transportation?

Scooters are like fat chicks. Fun while you're riding them, but you don't want to tell your friends about it.

I heard it was mopeds are like fat chicks: Tons of fun 'till your friends see you riding one.
Get a pedal bike instead.
Looks less gay.
I'd rather look gay then pedal for about 10 miles uphill and then work for a few hours.
Get a CBR 600rr used. You'll at least have some manliness when you ride.
every time i see someone on one of those it reminds me of a computer nerd getting somewhere as fast as possible.

Oh sorry did not realize you had to go 10 miles.

they are the same thing?
good luck keeping up with traffic on a 50cc if the speed limit on your route is more than 60km/h
you should get a motorcycle if you really want something two wheeled.
I just bought this last weekend. Can't wait to pick it up. Gotta wait till the weather is nicer so I can ride it home.

Get a scooter and name is Sasha.
Whatever works.
Ok here it is.
You WILL look like a fag.
Everyone will make fun of you behind your back.
People will hurl abuse at you while you hit the top speed of 20/ks and they speed past.
Seriously, why not just buy your self a pink helmet and get it over and done with it?
Some are cool, i have this one

But i also had this bike which was more fun imo.

What's your budget? You could get an nice Datsun truck for roughly 700 USD. Probably less if it's in less than perfect condition
Get a small motorbike rather than a Scooter. Scooters make you look gay.
Ninja 250R is nice, and I've heard you can get them used cheap in America. Will take you to 100 easily enough and you don't look fucking dumb like on a scooter.

Only other expense is clothing but you can get full waterproofs w/armor from Ebay pretty cheap if you look around.
Chav.
Am I the only one who envisioned the OP on this thing?

Yeah motorcycles are a lot more fun but sometimes more dangerous though.
My friend rides a dirt bike places, but honestly I think he just looks like a redneck on it.
Get a Segway instead,

The least amount possible to spend really.
No.
The last time I had a scooter I got hit by a car on a street near my work, and the next fucking day at the same exact time on the same exact street I got hit by another car.

It was LITERALLY at the exact same time, not a minute off, and at the same exact spot.
Well, you don't necessarily need one if you're in shape.

Even people in shape don't want to bike uphill for ~10 miles and then work all day.
Don't even think about suggesting walking, because then I'd have to leave before it's even bright out.

This.
You don't want your friends driving up next to you, laugh at you, and drive ahead of you with your thruttle on full.

Looks pretty fun to drive. I don't like the yellow color though, maybe if it was dark-red or black.
In my opinion, you should save up and buy a used Dual Purpose bike, such as a Yamaha TW200. I have been driving one to work for around 5 years (Although it is a late 1990's model, I bought it used) and it still works fine.

Sorry for shitty quality pic, though :frown:.
I think you need a seperate license for a scooter than one for a car. Could be wrong though.
10 miles uphill... that's 16 kilometers... And I walk 2 kilometers to school and complain that it's too much...
Well, this looks fun:

( I don't know the forum commands for picture and such...)

Also, coming from Suzuki you can usually expect the bike/product to be in a yellow color.

I guess the notion of consulting your parents about a car couldn't have crossed your mind anyways. The bridge is out. Literally and figuratively.
Wait a year or 2 and get a car
Get a segway, you will be instantly cool :c00l:
