You have to remember, it's similar to Saints Row where it tries to set itself apart from GTA by doing silly things like CyberDriver.

Yeah, horrible outdated memes that are there because the characters think they're being cool and awesome because they're saying memes but they're actually totally not, that's kind of the whole point of most of the main characters. And you also described like 5% of the game's writing as if that makes the whole game a "abomination".

compared to the original Watch Dogs (which did have an extremely stale and palatable character for mainstream audiences) it is unsubstantiablly horrible
