Was going 80mph on left lane of I-87 (New York Throughway), Some minicoop decides to come up my ass then highbeam me cause i assume he was going over 80. So I bump up to 90mph and then a few seconds later hes 5-6 cars behind me. I slow down to 80 and he remains 5-6 cars behind me.
what the fuck.
Or i'm driving down midland ave in my town its a long straight and twisty road. Some faggot the second i got onto the road came behind me in a honda fit with his fucking high beams on for the whole road. So fuck him i turned all my mirrors so that the highbeams reflected off my mirrors back onto him.

Someone needs an anti rice device. You got a rear windshield wiper?
Someone needs an anti rice device. You got a rear windshield wiper?
On the honda i tried to turn the sprayers for the front windshield wipers to the side, spray someones car right when light turns green drive off
Just reminded myself
So i hear amblance behind me a few blocks so i speed out of my lane into the next and get to the next light where theres two lanes. Two cars in left lane at light and one at hte right lane. I drive down holding my horn and all the cars just sit here. I get bumper to bumper to the car on the right he sits there, Ambulance gets behind me and im holding my horn. Guy finally moves over with a car honking and ambulance behind that car.
Jesus christ pay attention to sounds and around you.

Paying attention while driving must be in short supply these days. Everyone seems to forget that there are other people outside of their little bubble. If there is someone ahead of you, turn off your high beams.
Although I bet half the time its that they are on a cell phone.
Were they flashing their high beams? Here that's a warning that there's a speed trap up ahead. I've been behind drivers that were flashing their highbeams ahead and then we drove right past a speed trap right after.

No, just had them on. I would know of speed traps on that road and my precient moved to different areas after the current areas produced nothing
Minivans.
And the massive clouds of dust that comes from using gravel roads. My air filter gets plugged so damn often, not to mention how dust sticks to cars.
But mostly minivans.
Nobody here warns others about speed traps, it's every car for themselves where I live :v:
People who go 20 in a 30, keep hitting the brakes because you're too close to them, then go to 45-50 when you try to pass them...
I have this problem with like every single base model charger, I swear I have to pass these fuckers so much and they attempt to race my Integra but loose every time somehow.
Minivans.
I hate them too. Disposable heaps of shit.
And the massive clouds of dust that comes from using gravel roads. My air filter gets plugged so damn often, not to mention how dust sticks to cars.
There isn't really much that can be done about this. The only solution is to go do painfully slow you have to ride the brakes, every gravel road I've ever been on kicks dust up as low as 10MPH.
People just lock up when they hear a siren. they assume you're supposed to stop. This assumption is wrong, of course, you're merely supposed to GTFout of the way.
I hate how in the south, if there are two lanes on your side, and there is road work way up ahead, everyone gets out of the lane like a mile ahead of the actual merge.
They do that to avoid the nimrods that literally wait until they're three inches from the barrier to merge.
Zipper merging: The magical lost art on American highways.
Then when you're trying to get to the front to merge like a sane person, some jackass in an F350 with dual-lies pulls out in front of you and goes the pace of traffic to keep you from moving up.
What about the diplodocus that's texting while driving and tries to merge in at the last possible moment without even thinking of making sure they can actually do so without hitting anything?
Dude. Just get the shit out of your car? Not only are you annoying other people, but you're absolutely demolishing whatever fuel economy you may be able to reap from that thing, not to mention it's a visibility hazard and a toll on your suspension.
Why are you assuming he's ALWAYS driving around with it stuffed to the brim?
Zipper merging: The magical lost art on American highways.
I read this and my heart started beating heavily as I was reminded of the weave lanes on the highway overpass near me. Negotiating that thing with the drivers who don't understand that is as close to a death sentence as you can get. Literally nobody here knows how to use it properly.
Oregonians don't know how to merge at all, everyone enters the highway at 35 and merges at 40. Drivers in the slow lane come to a stop so that slow drivers can merge, few drivers use indicators and decide to simply merge all the way into the fast lane while still not even doing the speed limit without a second look. So many times have I nearly rear ended these fuckers, they even have the courage to brake check my little car. Fucking morons would get plowed the fuck through if I had been driving the truck and then not a single fuck would have been given either. Fuck your Chevy Aveo you fucking whore. There is no reason you need to move across 4 perfectly good lanes when there is absolutely no other traffic on the road other than myself when I'm probably doing like 3 times your speed, fuck.
Even though 95% of the drivers suck there's still all of the amazing 1-2 lane highways which are everywhere and rarely traveled which make some of the most beautiful and fun drives that keep me in this state. Carving up a 1 lane forestry road which snakes along side a river is something which I guess you just don't get in other places that I know of.
Also we don't get to pump our own gas, there's only one gas station in the area which I take my car to since the attendants there actually give a fuck and enjoy doing it. Everywhere else they either walk away and let you wait like 5 minutes after the pump clicked off as though your car's interior was the gas tank and you needed 50 gallons of gas or spill the gas all over the side of your car. Most places won't pump your gas for the last 15 minutes they are open either, the Chevron on the edge of town however will pump your gas as long as they are open and all but a couple of the attendants will strike up some sort of interesting conversation or let you on your way as fast as possible. I could care less I pay 6 cents more a gallon than the local Arco(who in there right mind actually goes to these) or Shell, everyone at all of them really don't want to be working there and aren't friendly a single bit.

Where do you live in oregon, because around my area, the drivers are pretty good.

I've never understood the logic behind this. It drives gas prices up unnecessarily and makes getting gas a time sink.

It's actually kinda nice, I don't have to get out in the freezing cold/pouring rain/100f summer heat and all I have to do is hand them my card and if I wish they will clean my windshield for me. It's 4.05 a gallon for regular right now which is cheaper than the rest of the west coast anyways. However I would love to have a self service station for when I don't feel like going to the full/mini service stations. There's a lot of people around here who would kill for a gas pumping job making around minimum wage. At this time it would be near political suicide to eliminate possibly thousands of jobs across the state to bring down gas prices 10 cents a gallon. Most of us wouldn't even notice due to the 35 cent total of tax per gallon we have in this area.
When you go to a decent gas station like a lot of the Chevron's you get timely service or you can get the shit Arco gas and waste another 5 minutes to save a buck or two.

no...
it makes costs lower for insurance, thus making gas cost less...

Not so much a driving thing, but I feel it should go in here:
I'm getting really sick of seeing nice cars on Craigslist, calling people up, and finding out that they sold them a week ago.
Please, if you sell your fucking car, either remove the ad or put something on there saying you sold the damn thing. I don't like getting my hopes up just to figure out that you don't know how to use craigslist.

It doesn't say "You must go self-service". It simply allows self-service pumps.
I just don't see the point for mandatory-by-law full service. I can understand having it as a luxury if someone wants it, but I've never had trouble pumping my own and I don't want to have to rely on someone else to do something I'm perfectly capable of doing myself. I also don't want to be locked out of filling up at three in the morning because there's no pump attendants on duty at that time, and I'm one of those crazy SOBs that will take a third shift job that would see me out-and-about at that time.
I don't have to get out in the freezing cold/pouring rain/100f summer heat
Get out --> Set pump up on one of the stops --> get back in --> Get out when it clicks off. That's what I do. Also, most of our pumps are under large roofs where pouring rain isn't an issue...unless it's raining sideways. But if it's raining sideways you probably shouldn't be getting gas in the first place.
no...

I don't really see how that could make car insurance lower either. It's not like it's difficult to pump your own.

how about us with locking gas caps or doors, have to hand them your keys so they can open it, that would suck.
but while pumping gas is a perfect time to check the coolant level and oil.
hell my dads old silverado (91model) before he replaced the motor, you would fill it up with oil and check the gas level.

Mhm, I could see that a problem. I doubt anyone would siphon from my tank though, they'd probably(and perhaps rightfully) assume the tank's full of rust 'n shit that'd fuck their own car up.
My dad has to do that too. We have to replace most of the gaskets on his engine once finances allow us to. It drips about a quart a month or so. He also doesn't have a hose running to his coolant recovery tank, but checking that while hot is a great way to get burned badly.
Speaking of finances, I've got enough for a fel-pro valve cover gasket. I was gonna update my eve subscription with that in the next couple of weeks, but..hrm...
I've actually never seen a gas station with attendants. I thought those died out long ago. I guess I learned something today. :v:
And yet it's so simple anything with opposable thumbs could do it.
That's what they say about a lot of things that simple humans fuck up every day.
In Yonkers I only know 1 station that will pump for you and it's the only station i just happen to visit..76. When that shit opened I dedicated any gas i buy is from them. They have self service and attendant. One day I pulled up to the attendant one and the guy fucking bummed rushed out, I felt sorry let him pump anyway cause was just going to turn around to the self service ones.
People who keep indicating that they're going around the roundabout but turn off anyway, pisses me off big time when I'm waiting to get onto the roundabout.
