Welp, lows for me are gonna be around -1 the rest of the week. Wind chill will probably bring it down to -15 or so. Not too bad. Just got back from the Auto Show and it was freezing out. The wind from the Detroit River blowing over the roof of Cobo Hall just made it so much more fun.
polar vortex pls i have to walk to work
Yet another Chicagoan here, it seems to start snowing again just as soon as the snow starts to melt.
NoooDAaaak [editline]22nd January 2014[/editline] I'm moving back east in a few months, I'm tired of it here
Alot vehicles in the ditch today. I saw well more than 10 vehicles. Tomorrow supposed to be worse. One of the customers today actually runs a large shop that buys 'wrecked' vehicles and sells them for parts or as whole to 'dealers'. They were busy most of the day.

Supposedly, it's supposed to get up to 37° in Minnnnesottaaa today. Break out the swimsuits, folks.
North Dakota was somewhat pleasant today... And then when I woke up the heat disappeared in like five seconds, the wind picked up to 30mph, temp dropped -14F, and the sidewalks were smoking up. Such is life in North Dakota.

http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2014/01/26/cps-to-say-sunday-whether-chicago-schools-will-be-open-monday/ I assume this also means the city's colleges will be shut down as well.
Guys I think my house is going to go over. The door was rattling on it's hinges. Why is it so windy? [editline]20th January 2014[/editline] Hello fellow Nebraskan! So uh... how about that corn?
I live in Omaha, so the most I see are the soybean fields on the edge of the suburbs.

I wasn't going to go up anyway because I found out they were showing Gravity at the WF CineDome. Loved it so much I forgot I had M&Ms.
I've been awake for a while, refreshing the school system's notice page, waiting to hear classes are cancelled.. Why couldn't the blizzard be on a monday? God is cruel. Fantastic weather Saturday night (Went barcrawling, didn't need a coat!).. and then visibility is 20feet on Sunday. Now it seems we'll be having decent weather today? Also, my hair froze in the 30 seconds it took me to go to my car, start it, and go back inside. :v:
I dunno if Missouri is considered midwest enough, but dat -15 wind chill today was neat. In the worst possible usage of neat.
Also, my hair froze in the 30 seconds it took me to go to my car, start it, and go back inside. :v:
I swear my car wasn't going to start. It went whir........whir......whirBAM and the entire car shook for a second or two getting up to idle speed. Probably one of the most violent starts I've had in a while.

So glad I don't work outside much anymore
