Oh believe me. English is a piece of cake compared to Arabic. There are a lot of things that /I/ can't even understand, mainly because the Arabic taught to people is the "formal" Arabic, people never speak that, they always use different dialects.
Isn't egyptian the one that one is bound to have the most luck with?

Egyptian is simple and just plain fun to use so yeah.

I figured that since it is the crossroads between the middle east and the maghreb, everyone would kinda understand it more or less.
I hear the kind they speak in Lebanon is atrocious though.

And I think it's because literally about half of the arabian movies are made by egyptians :v:
The lebanese dialect is kinda confusing at times but it's not really "atrocious". It's probably hard to use but that's all.

I figure Lebanese would be to a Saudi what Jamaican is to an American.

No, not like that. It can be pretty awkward to listen to a lebanese guy speak but you can clearly understand him.

Sounds like the Lebanese to me :v
Curious about names. I have a western name that isn't really compatible with Arabic, how do I list my name?
I was thinking it would be something like First Name Middle Name, son of Father (adjective)
Since my father is a junior, I'd write First Middle, son of Father the Lesser.
Your first name, your father's first name and then your last name. No middle names.

You can also put the names of your bazillion ancestors after your dad's name, like your first name, your father's name, your grandfather's name, your great grandfather's name, ..., to your last name (which is commonly known in arabic as the "family name")

Gotcha, so it's sorta like Roman tradition in a way.
Lord help if an Arab's name gets shared on the internet, contains everything except his social security number.
