How about let's agree to never post about music again unless it's something we can all mutually agree is good or shit.
Also, this song have a story behind it, listen to the lyrics
or you can refrain from posting in here because you are the only one who starts these dumb arguments
I have very strong opinions, I can't help it.
How about let's agree to never post about music again unless it's something we can all mutually agree is good or shit.
So what you're saying here is "Let's never ever post any kind of music here again", because if someone posts something then someone else is going to dislike it, like me (us) posting hardstyle and electronic music, then you go shit all over us, thinking your music is the best ever made. And when you post your god damn music, then some of us say "I don't really like that, have this instead" and post something else that only him or her like.

You want good lyrics? Fucking Neil Young.
You want good lyrics? Fucking Neil Young.
Even I can appreciate classic rock. This is the kind of shit that gets remembered. In ten years when the electronic craze dies down it will all be forgotten, just like most of the shitty pop of the past 10 years has already been forgotten.
if i want music with meaning i listen to rage against the machine http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vqcM5lVoteQ song (and music video) about leonard peltier and demanding his release
I just don't understand the appeal to electronic music. It just feels so soulless and disconnected from its creator. It's like some guy decided "hey I know stuff about making music but instead of making stuff with an emotional impact I'll just do something completely asinine."
See, now your argument's got some logic going on, but its a little faulty. On one hand, just because you're not directly playing it doesn't mean its not soulless or disconnected. Most tracks take weeks-months of work to create, just like any other piece of music. Everything has to be planned and worked on, it doesn't pop out of nowhere. Its like saying all of those classical symphonies are worthless because the writer isn't playing any of the instruments himself. Also, there is plenty of emotional appeal to the music, its just not the same emotions as metal. Compare live shows for the two of them. On one hand, metal has a lot of moshing for a lot of its subgenres, but there's a lot of anger going on, people get the shit beat out of them, although the end result is still fun for lots and lots of people. On the other hand, electronic music is mostly dancing, people are energetic and happy, and there's generally a good vibe going on. There's not a whole lot of intimate dancing with ladies at a metal show, I can tell you that. They simply bring about different emotional responses, because they're different genres. You don't read a nonfiction book about genocide to make you smile and happy (unless you're a bit fucked up), and you don't read a fantasy story for information. Trust me, if you open up your mind, and let things impress themselves upon you, you turn out better in the end. You don't have to like electronic music at all, but you can't merely trash everything about it when you haven't the basest understanding of it. Hell do a research paper about why you hate it for all I care, but don't argue from a point of ignorance, cause its dumb yo.
On the other hand, electronic music is mostly dancing, people are energetic and happy, and there's generally a good vibe going on.
And there we go, we've found why I can't relate to it and think it's shit. Although I knew that a long time ago.
This is a song anybody should be able to appreciate
partyhat when you say somethign about music i dont understand you, one day its all coldplay yeah metal sucks, next day oh kyle listen to this alestorm, next day yeah Odd future
I listen to a whole lot of shit. I think the only genre I actually dislike is country, because the lyrics are normally EXTREMELY simple minded.
I listen to a whole lot of shit. I think the only genre I actually dislike is country, because the lyrics are normally EXTREMELY simple minded.
What happens when you play a country song backwards? Your dog is alive, your wife came back and your truck works.

Also just for the record, I do feel I've listened to enough electronic music to be able to legitimately say I hate it. When I worked at Burger King, they would always have fucking electronic music playing in the kitchen and it just drove me fucking nuts. Especially when I had to work late shifts and when there were no customers they started playing really hardcore dubstep.
Legit
I would fuck the shit out of Taylor Swift. That's about all she has going for her.
More Aphex Twin yeh: Oh wait, computerized didgeridoo so it must have no soul or something.
Aphex Twin has some weird shit, I'm not going to lie. But the range of stuff he's done is so incredibly varied it's amazing. My favorite song (Ever.) is Polynomial-C. oh my fuck it's just so goood

Holy balls I want to skate that road.

Especially when I had to work late shifts and when there were no customers they started playing really hardcore dubstep.
Wait wait wait, so you think that what some bums in a Burger King are playing are what everyone actually listens to? You, who doesn't even tolerate mainstream metal, thinks that an entire genre is exactly the same, despite almost all of metal being made with identical instruments; and these same instruments are also used to create everything from pop to country. And yet somehow, you still love the stuff? And you're ignoring the fact that you were made to listen to this stuff, at work. Of course you're gonna have bad memories associated with it. Also, I'd go so far as to say that genres in Electronic music are just as far spread out as from light adult rock, to emo, to alt, and to metal. Your own bias and prepackaged opinions are blocking reason hardcore right now. And this is the last I have to say on the matter today, please just stop being so stupidly judgmental.
