Like, get on Tinychat and just build model tanks and shit together? I've never been into models but I might pick one up just to try that.
Yeah, exactly that. lemme see what I have in my queue to build. [editline]26th February 2012[/editline] Well, this is going to be difficult. My father and I have amassed two lifetimes worth of models... it'll be hard to pinpoint anything out. here's a portion of our collection in the garage; we have an accurate as fuck sorting system for this stuff; so finding a specific kit shouldn't be all that difficult. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree; can you tell which cubicle is my dad's? They're very inexpensive, easy to build, and are ubiquitous. So we can actually all build the same model at the same time if we wanted to.
I have that exact same 1/35 T-34/76 lol. I actually haven't built it yet, but if you really get around to getting one, maybe we could do something like an IFAP group build and build T-34s together.
ye i was looking at these instead of warhammer because military shit is cooler then fantasy type stuff plus it's way cheaper. i might get one, not sure yet.
I choose Warhammer because it's infinitely easier for me to paint Tau figures than any military models. My color scheme for Tau is literally brown uniform, yellow armor with black lines. Easy as shit. If I had to paint a BDU uniform I'd shoot myself.

Thanks to this conversation I went through my clusterfuck of model plane parts and a half finished A-10 to get all the shit for my F-106 together. Then I found all my brushes are covered in dried up paint and the only glue I have left is meant for clear parts, although I see no reason why you couldn't use it for other parts.
The thing that pisses me off with Warhammer is that the models are so fucking tiny and impossible for me to detail, plus there are so many of them to do. It's obviously not as much of a problem for other people, but it certainly is for me.
then get tanks and planes yo
I don't like planes. And tanks eh. I almost bought a pack of 90's US infantry but than I realized there was no way I was going to paint faces and BDU's. Soldiers I do whenever I want, I don't try to rush. I bought a pack of Fire Warriors like five or six months ago and I have like five left to do or something.

The reason is that camo works- it breaks up the patterns, turning detailed surfaces into indistinct blobs of color. So when people do use camo, it's very large and exaggerated patterns.
I have a couple Tau models left to build, and a bunch to paint, so I'd be cool with a tinychat model extravaganza. I've never painted any models before though so I'd ask like 1 million questions.
i was bored so for some reason i decided to try tracing and then coloring/shading a mosin in PS how's it look

We can all become extremely focused on our work, ignore one another, not talk and the webcam will film us all being autistic at once.

But yeah this gives me motivation to help finish my army, since I'm playing a few games on Friday.

I looked at it and immediately said "Bolt is wrong." I completely bypassed the scope.

I need to buy a new vehicle sometime.
Yeah, I'm making a mechanized Tau force, and I'm doing it with this one rebellious commander who doesn't use their alien comrades like the Kroot, so my force consists of battlesuits, hammerheads, and devilfish at the moment, and I'm gonna have a few fire warriors and pathfinders. Basically I just get all the cool models and ignore the rest.
Don't think this really fits anywhere else. [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/4NEJ0.jpg[/img_thumb] (What have we done, oh god oh why)

I'm going to make some Gue'vesa when I finish my Fire Warriors. I'll order an IG kit and special order the shoulder pads and stuff.
Mein gott what is this nerde shit?
kroot are p much useless in the actual game if you play it right i never used them ever when i played well if you abuse the rules and stretch a full squad out to block the enemy's side of the table then maybe

I'm going to make my force be stationed on a volcanic world, so mostly black with red/orange highlights. And if I can figure it out, a coating of ash or some similar surface detail. Most people criticize the Tau for being too new and shiny, so I figure a dirty force led by a renegade commander would be a cool concept.
drybrush black, brown, and dark gray errywhere

My color design is basically a play off the stock one. I paint them like hornets or yellow jackets. [t]http://a8.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc7/317779_2082798837332_1465940962_31882868_1645966033_n.jpg[/t] [t]http://sphotos.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-snc7/316621_2130770636597_1465940962_31918440_2134355592_n.jpg[/t] It was really hard for me to pic between Tau or IG but when I found out that some IG defected to the Greater Good it made the decision really easy. So that's why I want Gue'vesa. I also plan to make Tau Space Marines one day for shits and Gigs.
I painted my Space Marines white with pink, light blue and light grey trims. Actually looked fucking sick.
I'm going to start making modern US military models. Should I start by building an Abrams, a Bradley, or a Humvee? I don't really care which one I start with, I just want to know which you guys think is cooler.
Bradley is boss.
I still want to find a sweet MH-60 model with door miniguns, but I don't want to have to pay for it.
Bradley is boss.
I think I am going with the Bradley. My uncle was a Bradley driver in Desert Storm, so it's only fitting. [editline]26th February 2012[/editline] http://www.ehobbies.com/acy13205.html If I get this, what paints should I get with it?
do you have a primer
do you have a primer
I have no supplies.
