They do? That's not the way I see it.
I've actually noticed a strange obsession with weirdness and eccentricity.
Way I see it, if you look around, you'll see a lot of relatively normal people using any opportunity they get to shout about how weird, strange or crazy they are. A lot of people (including myself), practically see "You're crazy!" as a compliment.
Also consider some of the very popular fictive characters. A lot of such characters, like Jack Sparrow, The Doctor and The Joker are popular because they are eccentric or "crazy".
And yet people still get upset and angry when people do things that are out of the ordinary. It seems to me that people have a sort of love-hate relationship with craziness?
You confuse "interesting" with "crazy".
The Joker character is very depressing in my eyes, honestly how could someone be laughing when falling off a building?
Eccentric is also part of the surreal characteristic. But it's a little more civil than being all out crazy, it's just an obsession.
I don't know if I try to be normal. I certainly try to get along with people, and try not to be a dick. In my opinion, if you think someone is normal, you don't know them well enough.
[sp]I spend a good part of my day being normal. The rest of the time I'm tangent.[/sp]

I know it's all sorts of off topic, but the joker laughed when he fell off the building because he knew he was going to survive it because batman would catch him, and he finds that idea hilarious.
I personally find people that are overly loud and in-your-face about how "different" they are to be as frustrating as the people that just sort of blend in and do their best to be normal. Perhaps moreso. In my opinion people should just act how they feel they should without worrying if they're being normal or different or whatever.
Why the fuck are people discussing Batman

Obviously... people who talk are more charasmatic than people who blend in and be meaningless.
All the sheeple circle jerk each other off while talking about how "normal" they are.
Strive for the abnormal is what I say (as long as your following some basic social interaction guide lines).
Fuck being normal. I'm being me.

Ain't that kind of a........ normal thing to say. :smug:

Just because it's a normal slang, i will still say it. I'm of course, not a hipster.
Nobody's normal.
I wish I was normal, but since I'm not I just roll with the punches I guess
We are all fucking insane, it's just to what extent are you insane.
I am nowhere near normal but that is where the fun is in life the abnormalities.

I think that's debatable, my 'abnormalities' include depression, a broken home, and genetic predisposition towards alcoholism. I'd rather not have those abnormalities
I think it's rather weird that everyone denies to be normal.
I will be who I am comfortable with, fuck being "normal", "normal" is boring.
I've always wished I'd be more normal, but it's impossible to be someone you're not.
I find the idea of "trying to be normal" to be a little impossible to be honest. I don't get how you could even attempt to be something you've never defined with any certainty. Let alone what it really means to be "normal" would probably be in the end, quite taxing to become because of how different from the norm we all genetically are likely to be.
Hell, when you were a kid, did you ever think "i want to grow up to be normal!"? I sure as hell can't think of a time I did, I always wanted to be a director or a musician.
Now I'm in independent film shoots all the time and slowly getting there. Don't be normal if that's not what you wanted as a kid i'd say.
why even try anything man. just be...
Depends on your definition of normal. If by normal you mean
Won't randomly shoot people
or Doesn't jump off buildings
or maybe Isn't a 9/11 truther
Then yeah definitely that's good normal
But if by normal you mean
Listens to mindless rap music with the volume cranked up to the point everyone within a mile can hear it (through earbuds)
Uses either the word "like" or some form of profanity every other word
Or hates on people for being black/gay
then no definitely not.
[sp]yes I consider all of those things to be normal[/sp]
