Pretty sure this is in all versions. They wore reflective lenses/used fancy camera angles or something, I vaguely remember reading something about it.
if they can make the effect go away when they blink, wouldn't it have to be a digital effect
Turns out Sean Young took some polaroids while on the set of Blade Runner. Pretty good ones at that.

Look at Ford in this photo, it looks like he saw a car crash in the distance when the photo was being taken.
Thanks to this thread I must now watch this movie again.
Uhm are you feeling okay?
Harrison Ford as Jack Sparrow lmao that is like casting Clint eastwood as puff the magic dragon ~
I would pay to see that.
Just watched the Final Cut
I've never read these books or knew what Blade Runner actually was up until now.
It's a fucking rad movie and I am sure my dad has the old dvd of it.
Did anyone else notice this in Final Cut...
Every character who is a replicant, at some point, the camera lens catches their eyes in such a way that makes them look red and artificial. Then they blink and it goes. It happens to Rachael, the Owl, Zhora, Pris and Baty (didn't notice it on Leon). Anyone have an opinion on this? Did it happen in any of the previous versions?
It didn't happen to Deckard...;)
How the fuck did you notice that?
I only noticed it with the owl, mostly because they showed it for a long ass time. This part:

Actually in one of the cuts it does have a scene where the red lense reflection happens to Deckard during an extended bedroom scene in which he is talking to Rachael. Which is what I was talking about earlier in leaving subtle hints that may or may not indicate that he is a replicant.

I noticed every single one of these sections and specifically that one. That one specifically really makes you think if you notice it.
Yeah I actually noticed that, but I haven't seen any other version of the film so I didn't know it was just the final cut
I think I even saw that on the Director's Cut.

He's doing a poor replicant imitation.
The soundtrack reminds me of Mass Effect. A lot.
Also [sp]Deckard isn't a replicant. Ford said so himself that he thinks deckard isn't a replicant. If deckard was a replicant then the movie wouldn't have that mystery and internal conflict it has. Also the audience would lose connection with deckard[/sp]
[sp]It doesn't matter what Ford says. It doesn't even matter what Ridley Scott says. It matters what the film says[/sp]
Actually, [sp]in the book, Deckard is in fact a Replicant. It's just that in the film he's a human.[/sp]

[sp]The books were a bit meh and the continuity is a bit weird especially with the amount of replicants that escaped.[/sp]

[sp]I was actually just referring to the original novel, Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep?, but considering I've never read the sequel novels... vagina.[/sp]
I just watched this the proper way
seeing as I've only seen it a) with friends, so we started putting the word "dick" in song-titles halfway through and b) on an iphone. this time it was just me, a blu-ray copy of the film and some coke
and wow. it's just an amazing film. the noir-cyberpunk setting coupled with the incredibly beautiful soundtrack as well as the beautiful sean young satisfies my senses like no other film.
as for the debate on whether Deckard is a replicant or not, I'd say he is one.
[sp]in this one scene where he's with rachael you get too see a very brief glimpse of his eyes getting all red then of course there's the unicorn origami left behind my Gaff, which heavily implies that his memories aren't genuine.[/sp]
Yea but then the whole movie is shit if Deckard is a replicant because it just makes it so uninteresting.
Oh hes a robot thats cool.
Or a human struggling with the fact that replicants are becoming human, and trying to cope that he is in love with one.
