I love waking up, taking a shower and blaring Mars Volta music early in the morning. Waking up to Frances the Mute for the fucking win.
Bedlam's actually not my favourite album, but I love all of the others equally.
Bedlam was the album that got me into the band though. :D
Deloused felt like a ATDI album with more guitar wankery. Bedlam and Amputechture are the best imo. Frances is good too though. Honestly, Bedlam is amazing.
Edit: Listening to Ouroboros again, the part that starts at 4:32 is amazing.
Bedlam felt like an overly simplified accessible version of Deloused to me, and Amputechture was too jumbled and was more of a collection of good songs than an album, even if it does have one of their best songs. I wouldn't say Deloused really felt like an ATDI album at all, maybe with a few similarities to Relationship of Command because of Cedric and Omar.
amazing..

Yeah, I think Bedlam did seem a lot more accessible than their other albums.
Not that I'm complaining. It was the album that got me into them, and they're by far my favourite band so they couldn't have done anything wrong.

I think it was because of the shorter songs near the start, Aberinkula and Wax Simulacra felt different. Still really good though.
12 days till Cryptomnesia.
Fuck.
Not a fan yet but I'd like to think they have potential to grab my attention.
Amazon has a tracklist up for Octahedron....seems kinda sketchy to me, it's possible that it's fake.
1. Since We've Been Wrong
2. Teflon
3. Halo of Nembutals
4. With Twilight as My Guide
5. Cotopaxi
6. Desperate Graves
7. Copernicus
8. Luciforms

Mars Volta ft Kelly Clarkson confirmed.
Edit: In all seriousness now, I want more songs like Goliath
Mars Volta ft Kelly Clarkson confirmed.
OMG my dream has come true!!!!!!
I'm so fuckin pumped...this is going to be a long couple of months.
PS: If you're into Volta vinyl, apparently there was a 2nd pressing of Tremulant on yellow wax, it's only $10 too, daaaaaaaaank. I just ordered one.

Also, the tracklist is pretty much confirmed, because the art here: http://hellomerch.com/sh/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&page=shop.browse&category_id=57&Itemid=2 is a painting of the volcano Cotopaxi, done by Jeff Jordan, who did the artwork for Amputechture and Bedlam.
So it looks legit.

I wonder what track that is with the amazing bassline on the Cryptomnesia trailers.
I think it's They're Coming to Get You Barbara, I bet £5 on it.
Yeah dude I wouldn't be surprised, it's so eerie.

Why can't he rip it ? D:
So yeah, guess who's listening to Cryptomnesia.
Also, I lose my bet. Noir is the song with the creepy bassline.
GIRL, YOU AINT BETTER THAN THE GERMS I SPREAD!
Good Lord this is outstanding.

I don't think the upload is loud enough. Having problems hearing Zach.

Cedric really makes this album something special, lyrically and vocally.
Can't wait till I snag this next weekend!
I really like Noir, Paper Cunts, Cryptomnesia, and Half Kleptos. Great tracks. But, sometimes it gets to a point where it sounds like they just wanted to make the most noise possible.
TMV's music is always fluent no matter how unfitting it is to the mood of the lyrics. But somehow they still go together to make songs awesome. Cryptomnesia does that almost most of the time. However, the rest of the time. It doesn't work.
Lyrically the songs are really interesting though. Cedric does a great job as usual.
My favourite so far is probably Puny Humans.
Where should I order the album from? Where did you guys?
http://hellomerch.com/sh/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&page=shop.browse&category_id=46&Itemid=2
I didn't actually preorder it from there cause I'm getting an in store copy on the 18th, but if you order the LP from there you get a limited edition poster and it ships on the 28th of April.
Thanks. I just placed my order. Got the vinyl with the poster and 1-2 day shipping. Order was only $26- not bad.
If anyone's interested, Mastodon's new album Crack The Skye sounds a lot like a metal version of The Mars Volta (with better singing) :)

It's good, but it doesn't have better singing. I'm guessing you didn't realise two of the Mars Volta members played on Blood Mountain by Mastodon ?
