Why does everyone care about Fantano's reviews so much (especially since a 7 is high for his scale)
He gave Bon Iver's new album a 5 which I heavily disagree with, but that video has a nearly 50/50 like to dislike ratio. Despite his relatively eclectic taste and knowledge of music history, in the end he's still just some rando giving out an arbitrary number. It doesn't make me dislike him any more

His fans have a habit of taking his reviews way too seriously, and then proceed to shit all over whatever album gets a low score, on any forum they frequent.
If he gives a stupid biased review to an album, and it receives a low score, fans of said album have to suffer from then on when it comes to any good discussions basically.
He gave it a "strong" 7 at that. It's a good rating.

The issue stems from his previous work more than the rating of his current one. People will just end up saying BUT IT'S NOT TPAB/NOT A 10 and disregard it. Not to say a ton of people will, but sheep deffo will
