That video at the end, I had to pause it. Dinkheller almost got him, but missed by inches. You can see the window of the pickup smash behind the suspect as the cop fires. :smith:
the suspect was shot once in the stomach the deputy was shot 10 times

My dad's a policeman, so my opinion of policeman has always been positive.
I want to be a cop after I'm done with college. It saddens me to see people looking at police officers like evil tyrants when without them, I can't imagine how bad things would get. It's hard to understand why people are like that, it's kind of like racism. One black guy wronged you and so all black people are bad. One police officer abused his power and so all of them do.
so fucking disgusted by that video alone. what the actual fuck, come on
I don't care about this whole 9 page argument, that fucking video in the OP. Who the fuck could do such a thing? You see shit in movies and they either drop dead in a second or grit their teeth and take down that fucker with them, but the reality of it all. Those screams of him dying, how could he keep shooting? Oh god...
Just Cause 2 in real life
I always thought that the policemen were noble knights of justice. Then I got into trouble when my mates were playing with fire that had nasty consequences. Police came and we ran. They caught us, but fucks sake they were calling my other buddy ''fatso'' and other words, and they kicked me into the ground, even when I was all like ''Ok Ok, here I am'' and when I was in the ground one of the cops kicked me in the ass and said ''Stand up, faggot!'' then I stood up and he yelled ''Dont fucking move you prick!''. I do understand that it was not good that I started running with my friends, but such behavior from the officers I really not good in my honest opinion. My opinion no longer is ''Police are noble knights of justice''. Now I just see them as those ''police officers'' in the start of V for Vendetta
Agreed i had something like this happen too ( infact more then one...) See im almost deaf so i cant hear very well... I jwalked adcross a street - There were no cars for 5 mins before or after A cop that was walking around - he baiscly wanted to get me tossed in jail Was a REAL asswhole - he called for backup and yeah.... I tryed tellimg i cant hear him at all BUT NOOOO I got off with a warning and wasted 45 mins of my time and was late for my bus - had to wait for an hour - was a really bad day [editline]2nd January 2011[/editline]
When people say "Fuck the police" around where I live, its usually directed towards the police of my township. These guys make up stories, abuse their power, and it really doesn't help that the people who live around here are ass holes. I went to a CVS with a bunch of friends, we bought some food, and such. As we were leaving the store, we were greeted by 3 cops. They told us that some one reported us to them for cursing, and stealing. We didn't do that though. As we were being arrested some cop was dropping the F-bomb more then they were told we did. Another story, my brother was being arrested for getting in a car with a dealer. He didn't have money, wasn't planning on buying anything, and wasn't planning on smoking anything. He was just at the wrong place at the wrong time. On the report, they said my brother was selling another kid $75 worth of weed.
Same here I'v been around to other places and met really nice cops - but my local cops are dicks who get bored and lok for the smallest thing ever to bug you about
Vietnam vets are the worst of all the Veterans :(
The cops are like the NHS (this is in england btw), in the news all you hear about is how crap it is and how its poorly run. But they like to leave out all the good it does and how many people it helps. Also you have to remember that the cops deal with annoying aresholes all the time, just like everyone else in their job. They get abuse where ever they go and eventually it will get to them just like any other normal person, and it's that one action that pushes you over the edge to get you condemned by just about everybody. You have to remember cops are people too, and I would like to see anyone here who can honestly say if they got punched in the face by some angry wanker that they would remain calm and arrest them normally.
We organised a protest and 4 vans of riot police turned up and we were watched for an hour. The police were sound though and let us do our thing, like a day after the london protests
That ain't the police's job though, it's their job to uphold the law where ever needed, which is the discussion in the thread.
No i disagree. It used to be their job to maintain order on the streets using the law as a tool. Now they just enforce laws.
No i disagree. It used to be their job to maintain order on the streets using the law as a tool. Now they just enforce laws.
Yeah Back in the days Police MADE laws now they just enforce them
No i disagree. It used to be their job to maintain order on the streets using the law as a tool. Now they just enforce laws.
To maintain order is to enforce laws, if you are breaking the law then you will be punished plain and simple. The only people who have a problem with the police are the people whos own agendas and activites dont align legally with the current regulations dictated by law.
This video made me sad. :(
The cops here are fine in my opinion, this week I cycled through a red light, and cycled in the dark with no front light and they didn't pull me over.
Then your cops are not mean or power hungry, they're just bad. Anyone who does that is not only a danger to themselves, but a danger to others. Even though you were cycling, you should still have been pulled over for both going through a red light and having no hazard lights.
Without any type of police, we would be in total anarchy. The video is fucking disgusting as many others pointed out. People really needs to see what would happen if there was no laws, no cops. I hate people who's all like "fuck the police", hell, my brothers like that because he didn't follow the policeman's orders. Blame yourself if you got a bad start with a police officer.
I take my hate off to anyone who reads the whole thing. Police do not treat anyone with respect at all. So they wont get any back. I have had a long and point less history with the police and the juice system. It all started when I was 13. I was with my mates and we where mucking around in some abandoned compound. Little did we know it was owned by someone. It was very hard to tell as there was burnt out cars and smashed up equipment everywhere. After we where there for about 10 minutes the police turned up. Me and my 4 friends got arrested and taken down to the station. You need to remember I was 13 so I very scared with the whole experiences I never got into trouble at school. As my parents where on the way to the police station I got processed. They took my details pictures, DNA and prints. Which is in some data base at the moment. I got internet view about me being at the compound and after a 2 hour interview I was put in a cell for 4 hours. 4 hours in a cell and I was only 13. Anyway I was charged for criminal damage even though there was no evidence of us coursing any damage. 3 years later and I'm still getting letters through the door about the thing. Say they want to interview me and things like that. Its very hard to handy such stress like that at a very young age.

I think majority of the cops I have met have been assholes; it's not the fact that they were rude or brazen, but that they just didn't seem to give a shit about helping people(this is my local police department I'm talking about). But it's not an easy job, and they are just human beings. Still, I find it hard to trust them.
I've always thought of being a police officer, or a fireman. They always seemed like the coolest jobs, you cruise around in your crown Victoria, or recently the dodge charger and see some of the funniest things. But alot of this is outweighed by the fact that it's a risky job. I remember reading a article on were a policewoman went to investigate a disturbance in a neighborhood, I think a lady called in and lied about something that was not that serious. When she got there she was rushed by around 13 people with bats and shit, she couldnt defend herself because she thought it was just some minor disturbance and all she brought was a baton which was basicly useless. She was brutally beaten and raped and it took about a hour or so for the officers to get there. It's stuff like this that turns me off of being a officer. Although we have a very safe area, there would have to be some serious changes to the law and what I can and can do. Say a guy is refusing to listen to you, a drunk dancing around and swearing, I give him 5 warnings and then I shoot him with my tazer. Later I find out I'm being charged with police brutality or something like that and get fined 10 grand or around there and my job taken away. I've seen this happen around 3 times, not one of them are in my area but whos to say it couldnt happen. I respect the work a officer does, most of the officers I've met are great guys and it's a risky job. It's killed or be killed every day of their job.

A tazer should only be used if the officer is being threatened with a weapon.

In most civilised areas, including the UK, there is protection for finger prints and DNA samples that require both parents permission or and parents to be present when samples are being taken. I can't imagine that the UK CPS / DPP would ever place charges.
:jerkbag: [editline]1st January 2011[/editline] no
You can't explain your point, therefore your point is invalid.
They physical took my samples without my parents there, but my parents where there when I had to put my signature on some document about it.
If that's the case, I'd speak to a decent lawyer. They police didn't fulfill their legal obligation. Parents or legal guardian must be present during the taking of samples.
